The cabin was breathtaking love the privacy and the peace and quiet scenery. As for the staff Stephanie is an amazing waitress and host !!! Her attentiveness, friendliness, and efficiency in serving is top tier I got great energy from her and it felt as if she was family she truly cares about making people making this feel like a home away from home providing excellent service. The chef, matched her energy with his style of cook everything was delicious the steak medium well was cooked to perfection , presentation, and quality of the food was spot on. I also Highly recommend the salad

My husband and I just returned home from another wonderful stay at Forrest Hills. We originally went for our honeymoon. We went back for our 3rd anniversary, our 10th anniversary, and now for our 23rd anniversary. Forrest Hills is timeless to us, Its like coming back home to the beginning. This year we stayed in Lovebird 1. (King bed, hot tub, wood fireplace) We arrived almost an hour early for checkin, our cabin was ready so she let us go ahead and check in at no extra cost. All the staff we encountered were extremely welcoming and helpful in any way possible. Hot breakfast was included with every night stay. The chef was very friendly, food was good with plenty of options. We bought a picnic lunch. The chef prepares it and you pick it up at breakfast. We took ours to Amicalola Falls nearby. We had dinner in the Secret Garden dining room, very romantic. The waitress was a little overwhelmed because she said she's never that busy on a Monday, but she did great. I've read other reviews complaining, wanting this to be more "resort like". Yes their name includes the word "resort", but think of it more as a "getaway". For us, we want a getaway that is quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming. That is exactly what Forrest Hills is. If you need something, they are more than accommodating but they want you to enjoy your time alone together. Their family has worked hard to create a place that visitors will want to return to. And thats exactly how we feel when we leave, we can't wait to go back.

One of the worse experiences I've had with a Hotel/resort. The rooms smelled bad, AC seemed to have mold/moisture, rat droppings outside the door, gaps around AC that allowed insects to crawl in, decor and furniture of rooms were very dated and old with no upkeep or attention, food and items in the small store were way overpriced. The resort had noting to offer for entertainment aside from horseback riding. The resort in person does not compare to the promotional photos. My husband and I tried to stay and find anything positive, but after 4 hours we decided to leave when I started coughing while being in the room and sitting on the bed. I was concerned about sleeping there overnight. The resort would not consider giving us any part of a refund. We even paid for an early check-in. I definitely would not recommend this resort.

We love Forrest Hills Resort. Cabin 13, in particular, has so much privacy it is easy to forget anyone else is around. We brought Christmas decorations with us, and a crockpot for hot, mulled cider. If you like being in a fancy, luxury type place with lots of people, go somewhere else. But if you appreciate quiet, nature, and solitude, this place is a dream. Pictures are our living room with battery operated candles and Christmas tree, the sky and Milky Way from an early morning walk, our hot tub with wreath and candles, and our front door.

Bottomline: Great location; good food; dated room and rude owner/front desk staff. Will not be spending money here again. This resort was the perfect getaway for our 30th anniversary! The cabin was terrific and the bed in the cabin was so comfortable we didn’t want to get up! We ate breakfast both mornings and it was slightly less quality than Golden corral. The cabin is screaming for updated bedding and couch. The ceiling fan had four different lightbulbs that casted an eerie glow the entire time.

We stayed in a roomy Cupid’s Hideout cabin with spa in a separate room off the bedroom for 5 nights. Loved the swinging chair and hanging out on the balcony overlooking the forest and trail. Nice setting with lots of space between us and the next cabin. Small refrigerator held...

We stayed in a roomy Cupid’s Hideout cabin with spa in a separate room off the bedroom for 5 nights. Loved the swinging chair and hanging out on the balcony overlooking the forest and trail. Nice setting with lots of space between us and the next cabin. Small refrigerator held leftovers, snacks and drinks—not much else. Kitchen wasn’t set up for cooking—just warming up food in microwave. All staff were friendly, helpful. Breakfasts were delicious and the chef varied offerings from day to day. Not sure why the TV channels were limited during our stay but we always found something to watch. Beautiful grounds!
