We chose the Farmhouse Inn because of all the rave reviews and because we are often in the Forestville area. We have stayed at top hotels elsewhere (several Ritz Carltons, the Breakers, etc.) but this was more expensive than those, so we had high expectations and were excited for our stay. On the plus side: check-in was very personalized and helpful, including being offered a "bath bar" smorgasbord of soaps, bubbles, scrub, and salts, which was fun. We were able to book wine tastings with partner wineries, gratis, which was also very nice and helped introduce us to wineries that weren't on our radar -- as did the nightly wine tasting held on property. We enjoyed an excellent massage at the spa, and had delicious breakfasts each day. The room was generously sized, with a bar that was thoughtfully stocked with mixers, colas, snacks, fruits, all included. The bathroom had a huge soaker tub, steam shower, and heated floors. There was even had a little outside patio space with a bistro table and chairs. However, for a property like this, it's the little things: there were no bedside lamps, for instance. In fact, all the lighting was overhead can lighting except by the sink and one table lamp on the bar. There were no reading lights at all by the bed, or by the two easy chairs in the room. The chairs themselves were not comfortable, which would have been an easy fix. Again, for the price point, a comfy chair seems like a basic, as do reading lights. The bathroom barn-style doors didn't close fully -- there was always a gap somewhere, or they rolled slowly open after being closed. The roller shade on the room door gapped, as well. We weren't there during a busy time, but at breakfast, the one wait staff fully cleared a table before even greeting us or offering coffee, even though there were plenty of ready tables should anyone else walk in. We weren't in a hurry for any of the breakfasts, which was a good thing, because they took quite a while, despite there only being one or two other tables of one or two people at the same time. There is a nice pool, but again, the furnishings at the pool fall short of what you'd expect for the price point. On the day we checked out, we knew that because of our spa appointment we'd be pushing close to the check-out time, so when we asked the front desk, they said it wasn't a problem, no one was checking in right after us. I was quite startled when I stepped out of the room for the final time, ten minutes prior to checkout, and nearly ran into cleaning staff waiting to get into our room. That really ended the visit on a down note. All of the little things just added up to way too much -- it was like this was someone's first venture running a hotel and they had just whacked a high price point on it to see who would bite, and because it's Wine Country.

Upscale but low key, this property is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy fine dining and spa treatments while embracing a charming yellow hued farmhouse village surrounded by towering trees.
We stayed in a Barn Junior Suite which was spacious and comfortable with features that included a couch, fireplace, beamed ceiling, and large walk in closet. The windowed bathroom had a big deep spa tub and a spacious steam shower. Outside was a private patio with café table and two chairs, plus two chairs in front of the double sided fireplace. While the room had a white color palate and exposures on three sides, it was light deprived at times because of all those tall trees nearby.
A highlight of the hotel offerings is a nightly wine tasting hour hosted by a different local vineyard each late afternoon. We were so impressed one evening with the wine from Gary Farrell Vineyards that we actually stopped by their location the next day and made a purchase. Unfortunately we did not eat on site because the menus even for breakfast went beyond our more limited taste buds. But we did partake in the nightly s’mores offering. I also enjoyed swimming laps in the ample pool which is surrounded by loungers and gets good sunlight in the middle of summer. The pool however needs to be repainted and cushions on those loungers would be a nice upgrade. There is no gym on site, but there is a large spa.
With only 25 rooms spread out over several buildings, the hotel always seemed tranquil which we appreciated. The staff was friendly and the location is convenient to many wineries and charming towns within a five minute drive or more. You can easily self-park, and there is no resort fee.

i dined at thier restaurant a few year ago, but the I stayed four nights this fall while visiting some Sonoma wineries (Lynmar and Small Vines). It’s a nice inn, with well appointed rooms. We enjoyed every evening when they brought in a different local winery each night for a tasting.
Of course, we also ate the Michelin star restaurant which was quite enjoyable although it got a bit loud when they seated a group of four in the middle of a small room.

Decided to give Farmhouse Inn a try for a 2 night stay. The room was nice and welcoming, rustic charm, clean and comfortable. We booked via Virtuoso so when we checked in, I asked for an upgrade. They showed us 2 rooms, but we did not like them and chose to remain with our basic room. We needed to charge our electric car. The front desk assured us that if we left our key with them they would take care of it overnight. The next morning, we saw that it was not done! Dinner at Farmstead was good. Menu selection is very limited though. Breakfast has only 4 options. The option I chose comes with a fruit, and when I called to ask why it was not provided we were told they had run out of fruit! Odd. It's a cute inn, but for $1,000 a night, not worth it. We will not return. The best thing is the cookies they offer with turndown service.

We’ve been coming to Napa and Sonoma for 30 years and have stayed in many places. A trusted innkeeper suggested Farmhouse so we went with two other couples for vineyard visits and wine tasting.
Sonoma’s draw is its casual, agricultural feel and more reasonable prices. The Farmhouse personified the area set amidst a forested area, landscaped with lavender, rosemary bushes and thyme.
Farmhouse has a sense of place. The staff, from the lead concierge who helped us find wonderful boutique wineries and trouble shot for us, to wait staff to everyone in the office, the food & beverage manager, were friendly and welcoming.
The property has a variety of rooms, some very quiet (barn house suites) and some pick up some of the road noise. Breakfast can be in your room or in the Farmhouse restaurant. On night the six of us sat outside by the fireplace, surrounded by flaming heaters, and had wood grilled pizza and other casual foos at Farmstand — the casual restaurant. Great food and fun!
Our room had a two sided fireplace and a large deck to enjoy the view. Very comfortable space, heated bathroom floors, steam shower — we had a lovely time!

When I embarked on the search for the perfect destination to celebrate our 30th Anniversary, I explored a few options: Solage in Calistoga and Farmhouse Inn. After some consideration, taking into account my husband's preference for Pinot wines,we ultimately chose to stay at Farmhouse Inn for a more intimate ambiance. The decision was also influenced by our reservation at their highly regarded fine dining establishment the Farmhouse Inn restaurant, which had received exceptional reviews under the new chef. I booked a king-size room through booking.com to ensure we could fully savor the dinner without having to worry about driving afterward. However, to our disappointment, we were assigned the most unfavorable room in the entire resort, facing a busy and noisy street (quite the opposite of what we had anticipated for a special occasion which was noted in the reservation!). The resort was not fully occupied during our midweek stay, so I inquired about the possibility of moving to a quieter room. Surprisingly, the only option offered to us was another room at an additional $$$$ (bearing in mind that this was already quite an expensive resort). Given the circumstances, it would have been a pleasant gesture on their part to provide a complimentary upgrade for a special occasion in a resort with plenty of available accommodations.
Regrettably, our stay at the Farmhouse Inn lacked any special touches that one would expect to commemorate a milestone occasion like our 30th anniversary. There was no complimentary bottle of wine awaiting us, no fresh flowers to enhance the ambiance—nothing to make our stay feel truly exceptional. This was a significant letdown, the Farmhouse Inn did not go the extra mile to make it memorable for us.
Adding to our disappointment, we found a dead bug on the bed in the room.
I would like to emphasize that this review solely pertains to the way our reservation was handled and not to the Farmhouse Inn restaurant, where we dined and had an absolutely divine experience! The culinary creations were impressively innovative, the presentation was impeccable, and the wine pairings were thoughtfully selected and truly delightful.

The Farmhouse Inn experience is simply unparalleled in its visual appeal, room environment, dining, amenities, and concierge service. I’m mildly horrified that some of the other reviewers found anything to complain about! I have to give shout-outs to Letisha, Russell, Eric, Teresa, Avery, and Cassandra for making our 20th anniversary magical. It’s a pricey stay, but arguably worth every penny.
Visual appeal: my wife and I had the fortune of visiting Sonoma County for a week of sunny, warm days, but we were blown away by how stunning the resort is. The natural beauty is coupled with meticulous grounds care that really shows (including things like the walking path gravel being raked in patterns daily).
Room environment: just to list a few of the room’s features (we stayed in a barn junior suite), our room included a steam shower, soaking tub, heated bathroom floors, indoor/outdoor gas fireplace, and a lovely king bed. Even what felt like lambs wool throws on the bed and sofa.
Amenities: so many to list, I know I’m going to miss some. The bath product bar, snacks and drinks in the room, romantic tea light candles, cookies and milk at turn-down, local wine selection in the in-room wine fridge. All that except the wine was at no additional cost. Now for the no-cost resort amenities! They let you borrow a brand-new Volvo XC-90 as long as you want (on a first-come, first-served basis), or a driver will take you to dinner. But in the front seats, you can enjoy the in-seat massage!
Concierge: they are happy to make wine tasting reservations for you, and many of the wineries with which they have partnerships offer them for free to Farmhouse guests (usually $50-100 per person). On top of that, partner wineries visit the resort on a daily basis to offer wine tastings (we missed only one during our stay). And these are not mass-producing wineries; they’re fabulous local (mostly estate) vintners. The concierge pours you a glass from a local vintner upon arrival, and on occasion when you’re just stopping by! I visited often for coffee and a paper each morning, and to pick up the Volvo key for the day’s excursion. And, well, to return the key (sad sigh).
Room for improvement: only because I feel like I have to say something constructive, I’ll leave a few words. The room could’ve been a bit darker, but there’s a little window with no shutters that lets outside breezeway light in (room 24). And not that we were trying to watch much on our TV, but the Roku wouldn’t connect, because the room is too far from the router (thanks to Ty for trying anyway!). And if I’m being nit picky, instructions for using the tub and steam shower would’ve been nice. But that’s not bringing me down from 5 stars!

Farmhouse Inn is packed with high quality details - - tasty bites at Farmstand, heated tile floors, steam showers, well-appointed rooms, luxurious mattresses, immaculate grounds, and several thoughtful touches including cookies, nightly wine tastings, great pool area and courtyard. S'mores around the fire and Wednesday night movie with snacks were fun options. Location was perfect for exploring the redwoods, coast, and local wineries, shopping, and restaurants. Best of all was the unmatched service - - Teresa and the concierge team lined up a perfect itinerary with tastings at Farmhouse's wine partners, dinners at the best restaurants, and a driver. We felt valued as guests and were treated with class at every turn, at check-in, the spa, and with room service. Finally, you will not be disappointed with dining at the Farmhouse restaurant. This was a vacation we will not ever forget!

I had wanted to visit here since they opened and for our 30th anniversary, we finally made it. Almost didn’t come here bc of recent reviews on TA so I had to come on to right this ship! First of all, this is understated absolute non pretentious 5 star luxury! It is personal and bespoke and intimate. The sheets are not low quality as one reviewer said. The blinds are light blocking absolutely, unlike another reviewer said.
We enjoyed wine tasting (they have actual wineries come on site to do private testings!), cornhole (I lost), swimming (pool is perfect), sleeping, eating and massage.
Dinner…. AMAZING!!!! Recent reviews describe it as not what it used to be. Well, that may have been true, but I am so happy to tell you, it is no longer true! We eat at every fine dining venue we can worldwide, and this was among the best!! The wine pairings were perfect. Portions of everything was perfect. We left neither drunk nor 10 pounds heavier. We left happily content and felt like royalty. Summer is certainly a great time to eat at a farm to table restaurant! Massages (I had Audra, my husband had someone else and I am sorry idk her name), and it was unbelievable. We both left saying we will be back if for no other reason, the massage! So do not hesitate. You will be in heaven at Farmhouse Inn. Well done, and thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Farmhouse Inn. We stayed two nights. We experience top-notch service, a beautifully appointed room and quieter section of Sonoma County. The hotel really is great for those who fly into Santa Rosa airport as it is only 10 min away and they have complimentary Volvo SUVs you can use on a first come, first serve basis. One of the staff members even dropped us off and picked us up for dinner in Healdsburg (about 20 min away). I was really impressed with the level of sophistication from the staff, the pristine condition of the property and small touches throughout.
