We were given a gift from our kids for a New Years Eve stay. We were looking forward to it as we would never spend this kind of money on a place so our expectations were high. Our kids paid over $400 for the night in a room with water / park view on the 16th floor.
To begin with we had to wait over 30 minutes to check in. The line up was huge and carried well into the atrium of the hotel. They had four staff checking in people but this was crazy. They did come by and offer hot chocolate and thanked us for being patient but this was way longer than it should have been.
Once we got into our room, we loved the view but the room itself was quite dated. There were rolls in the carpet and although the room was very clean, it was dated with wall paper needing to be replaced etc. The bathroom as a great size and the view was amazing.
This hotel allows pets in the rooms. I have no issue with this but when a dog keeps barking all day long that is a problem. I didn't come to a nice hotel and spend that kind of money on a place where I have to endure dogs barking all day and night long. While I didn't hear the dog in the middle of the night it was well into the evening that is for sure.
Then we have neighbours who thought they could have New Years Party right in their room well after midnight. The music and laughter was so loud the security person couldn't get their attention without pounding on the door. Then this person proceeded to have their TV on so loud that we were awoken after 2 am with the security trying to get their attention once again due to their noise. A terrible sleep and less than enjoyable experience for what we paid. I wouldn't go here again even if it was half what I paid...just isn't worth it!

COMFORTABLE PEACEFUL GOOD CONCIERGES BREAKFAST WORTH HAVING!
COMFORTABLE ROOM, VERY HELPFUL CONCIERGES. GOOD BREAKFAST. INSUFFICIENT VEGETARIAN CHOICE (IF ANY!) AT DINNER THEREFORE ATE ELSEWHERE IN THE EVENING. STAYED IN HIGH AND LOW FLOORS OVERLOOKING THE WATERFRONT. PEACEFUL AT BOTH FLOOR LEVELS. WOULD SUGGEST LOW FLOOR AND SPEND THE DIFFERENCE ON THE BREAKFAST!!

I came to celebrate my birthday. I mentioned this when I was booking my room. I was very pleasantly surprised when checking in that I was upgraded to a top floor harbor view room. I can't say enough how friendly and accommodating ALL the staff were from a friendly good morning to offering free slippers for our pool use. This all made for one of my best birthday celebrations ever. I hope to come back for our next big celebration - our 25th wedding anniversary.

Hotel staff were helpful & friendly. Nice facility.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had breakfast on both days in the hotel restaurant, which was excellent. We were taking a cruise from the port located across the street so the hotel was quite conveniently located. Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed with amenities
The location is brilliant for a tourist visit to Vancouver, with so much in walking distance or easy rides. The hotel staff are all so polite, helpful, learn your name very quickly and generally fun to interact with. Arc, the restaurant and bar has an excellent menu, everything comes out...

Arc, the restaurant and bar has an excellent menu, everything comes out hot, looking and tasting good.
Room lived up to expectation and even only being on the 5th floor, had a good view of the harbour.

The Fairmont Waterfront will be my go-to hotel for future trips to Vancouver. The welcome far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I arrived early after a four-hour train trip to beautiful Vancouver from Seattle and the room was ready. This was our first trip to the city. I booked a regular room and noted in the comments that it was our 36th anniversary and my birthday week. Jeff was wonderful, a guardian angel of sorts. We were upgraded to a harbor facing room and the view was phenomenal. The rooms are somewhat dated but I value cleanliness, comfort and service more, and kudos to the housekeeping staff. I like that there are crisp white duvets and linens because my pet peeve are those grungy bedspreads that so many hotels use (not this hotel). toiletries are excellent. We went out for a walk on the first day (our anniversary) to return to a chilled bottle of prosecco and chocolate cake. That made my week and Jeff checked in with us to ensure that our stay was going well. Just when I thought I had seen it all, two days later there was a knock on the door and I opened it to find one of the hotel staff members (Tara - a real credit to your hotel) holding a birthday cake. The friendliness of staff members throughout the hotel made us feel special. To me, the little touches do matter. The location is great, right across from the convention center, restaurants, shuttles etc. It's an easy walk into downtown Vancouver. To management: Jeff's photo should be on that wall recognizing staff for superior service. You are lucky to have him. Thanks Jeff.

Great hotel at Vancouver Harbour. Close to restaurants and shops.
We had a great stay. It was a quick overnight stay route to Tofino. Short walk to the Bill Reid gallery. A short walk around the harbour to Harbour Air airport. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant-food was delicious. Beds comfy. Room clean. We will return.

Room was fine but as usual poorly lit had to have bathroom door open to make tea/coffee etc
We had an issue with housekeeping removing some personal items that we didn’t get back
The hotel gave us a $100 credit problem was they did it against a bar bill which they said would be complimentary.
We won’t stay again it’s a large corporate hotel and we felt that as tourists we were treated as 2nd class citizens

We visit Vancouver every year to keep in touch with friends and family. We prefer to stay near the waterfront close to downtown. For the past few years we have stayed at the Pan Pacific which has been very nice. This year we decided to switch to the Fairmont Waterfront just to see how it compared. The room was spacious and up-to-date with great views and nice amenities. However it was the concierge service and lounge that made the difference for us. We’ll stay here again for our next visit.

The stay at this hotel exceeded expectations! We originally booked at the Pacific Rim and had to cancel at the last minute due to my husband becoming ill. The Pacific Rim waived the late cancellation fee and this was a bonus. We re-booked a day later for the Waterfront as the price was better and the Gold Floor was available. This hotel is perfectly located! The check in staff was accommodating, gave us early access, the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The Gold Floor is totally worth a few extra $, breakfast was amazing, very substantial, the snacks were delicious and the canapés far exceeded what I expected! Dessert was bakery level tasty. The staff on the Gold Floor were friendly and nice, I feel there is nothing they wouldn’t get for a guest. We loved the guest bikes, the pool is amazing and we used the hotel car to get to our dinner reservation. So convenient! Lastly, housekeeping was friendly and did an amazing job every day! Thanks Fairmont Waterfront for turning a bad situation (illness) into an amazing vacation!

It exuded luxury at every turn but just seemed to be missing something in 'the personal touch'
The restaurant was not very exciting with a dull menu, so didn't use it but went out to eat (Lots of very good restaurants in the surrounding area).
May seem odd but I was never sure what was included and what was chargeable. Interesting that the mini-bar (not used) had a notice to say that it was sensitive and, if touched, might cause us to be charged and to ring reception to say we hadn't taken anything.
Swimming pool was very good.

We had picked this Hotel for a touch of luxury to finish off our driving tour from Calgary. We arrived at 2.30pm and our room was not ready, fair enough check in is 3pm. After waiting an hour with no text we approached the reception and were told a room number...a lack of communication. The room itself was nice and large and clean, but the view was of cruise ships and docks. Yes the hotel is central but it is chaos outside when a ship is disembarking. The valet parking is very expensive, but the people doing it are a credit always polite. The pool is nice. We did not use the restaurant. Unfortunately there felt a lack of the personal touch that we had experienced throughout our trip. Also there is no water provided in the room you are directed instead to a water tap, fine if you carry a fillable water bottle but not everyone does.

From the moment of reservation to check-out, our stay at the Fairmont was exceptional. A few months prior, Poppy assisted with confirming our reservation and ensured everything was in order. Upon arrival, Alexis welcomed us at the front desk with warmth, confidence, and efficiency. She even followed up with a thoughtful text message to confirm that our room met expectations.
Kateryna responded promptly to our request for additional coffee pods and later checked in to see if we needed anything else—her attentiveness was much appreciated. Shailene went above and beyond to clarify our billing details, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. At check-out, Abrar guided us through the process seamlessly.
Special recognition is due to Juliet from housekeeping, whose dedication truly stood out. She maintained our room impeccably and made us feel as though we were guests in her own home—a rare and meaningful touch.
The room itself offered breathtaking waterfront views. The location is ideal, with a food court adjacent to the hotel and numerous dining options within walking distance. It was a flawless experience, and we look forward to returning.

She made this as seamless as humanly possible. And a few minutes after we got into our room we received a text from Alexis asking if there was anything else they could do to make our stay more enjoyable.Kateryna, Shailene, and Abrar also were quite helpful. But the star of the show had to be Juliet, the lovely lady from housekeeping. I've never met a more cheerful, thoughtful person in the hospitality business. What an absolute gem. The room as more than large enough and was quiet and the blackout curtains were superb. Plenty of places to eat in the neighborhood and Gastown was only a few blocks away. Also, there is a pretty good food court adjoining the property.

" 5 gold stars plus"
Hat's off, thumbs up to everyone on Daniel's staff.!!
Daniel and his staff were always available, very attentive, upbeat and professional.
It's nice to see a staff when you are traveling who are enjoying their job, not just putting on a fake appearance.
We arrived early and Daniel assured us that our room would be accommodated for us and available as soon as possible. Daniel held our baggage and said they would be in our room when ready.
Upon arriving, we were very worn out from our Alaska cruise and just wanted to relax and enjoy the comforts of a nice room.
It was our first trip to Vancouver and would be staying for 3 days.
A beautiful room it was. We were stunned.
We have traveled a lot and never, never was a room so beautiful and clean.
Daniel must have went out of his way to get us our room to stay in.
We went back to the desk and asked Daniel's staff if the room we were given was what we reserved for and we were told it was.
0916 - Gold, a beautiful corner room with tiled foyer leading to full window view's of both the harbor and downtown.
The bed was very comforting.
The bathroom a picture window of downtown, - "extra large" - walk in shower, mirror and vanity, with tiled floors.
Our floor had an open deck available to everyone with a view of the harbor and the city. comforting seating with drinks available if you chose.
The room included a hot, chef like prepared breakfast buffet with many, many choices for anyone's taste including fresh pastries and fruit.
The room included a snack time mid day, which included various snacks, chips, cookies, cheese fruit and pastries.
The room included an evening brunch chef like prepared that had many hot food options, sides and desserts.
Then later, there would be an evening dessert hour that had fresh cakes and pastries.
During our stay, we had put a no disturb sign on our door daily.
What was very thoughtful and considerate was the hotel manager gave us a "well" check during our 2nd day to make sure everything was a.o.k. with us and our stay.
Apparently they really want to freshen up your room daily or as needed, they really care about you.
We highly recommend The Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver for your stay in Vancouver.
We have never experienced better.

Not particularly overwhelming.
Even the illusion of generosity missing. $45 a night parking, $14 a day for wifi, charge for water in room, no robes or slippers. We felt we could have done better elsewhere. We have stayed at the Fairmont on several occasions, but next time, will look around first.

The Fairmont Waterfront's location right across the street from the Vancouver Cruise Terminal is, by far, the property's most important feature. During the summer season, the Waterfront is mobbed with tour groups and cruise passengers coming and going. And, of course, we were among the latter!
My partner and I booked, through Chase's Renowned Hotel Program, one night at the Fairmont Waterfront prior to boarding a Seabourn Alaska cruise. Our upgraded room was spacious with a great view and the staff were responsive and friendly. Our rate included complimentary full breakfast and a $100/night food and beverage credit, which we applied towards dinner. The hotel's dining venue, ARC, was excellent for both meals. Service at ARC was excellent, though there was a thirty minute wait for a table at breakfast due to staffing shortage resulting in a portion of the restaurant being closed off.
The only downside was the condition of our room. In spite of its spaciousness, room decor was dated, and many furnishings showed wear and tear. In particular, there was an odd ripple in the carpet running the length of the room, and one lamp shade was almost torn through and through.
Fairmont Hotels are generally very expensive. Our room at the Waterfront was well in excess of US $500 for one night. The food and beverage credit and complimentary breakfast, however, helped mitigate that. In the end, even though our stay was pleasant, value may have been missing.

We were on the Gold Level, so the service and lounge were excellent. The honor bar was a plus as well as the snacks available. The rooms are luxurious and quiet. There is dining available and a bar as well, although quite pricey and not very genrous pours.
I would stay here again if visiting Vancouver, BC

Alexis at front desk comped us a couple of drinks and breakfasts as our room was not quite ready at check-in. The hotel is very clean and the rooms spacious and comfortable. Tip.
he hotel does offer complementary baggage transfer to your ship if you are taking a cruise. Didn't see this mentioned anywhere but the concierge mentioned it when we said we were taking a cruise. Great perk even though ship is across the street it is still a bit of a hike to get to the boarding area dragging luggage. Picked up at our room and delivered to the ship.
