This resort is one of the finest. We were upgrades to an Ocean Front room. It was gorgeous with a beautiful patio with generous seating. The bedroom was large and the bathroom was special. We had an indoor and outdoor shower and a free standing tub with bath salts supplied. There is a nice mini bar and they also left some gifts in our room. I would recommend highly.

Having traveled all over the world in my quest for the perfect beach resort, I had never considered Puerto Rico as for some reason I didn’t think it was exotic enough. I had recently returned from La Samara in St. Martin and believed I had finally found my nirvana . My son told me that he had recently experienced the most fabulous vacation at Dorado Ritz Carlton reserve so although I didn’t think anything could surpass La Samana I thought I’d give it a try. Dorado not only surpassed La Samana but was even more spectacular than my trip to Lake Como Italy. Many resort beaches are lovely but none are as dramatically breathtaking as the beach at Dorado . Boulders in the water create coves for swimming while providing the beach goer with a display of crashing waves. The several vanishing pools are pristine and the jungle like plantings with massive palm trees and other lush shrubbery and trees make a visitor feel that they have entered paradise. The rooms are so close to the ocean that you can hear the waves as you sleep- and the rooms are exquisite with stone bathrooms that have magnificent indoor and outdoor showers . And the food was fit for a gourmet’s taste.The staff must all take happy pills as they are always looking for ways to please you. To be fair all this vines at a price but it is well worth it. One caveat - check in is at 4 and checkout at 12- as we had a 6:10 flight back to New York we asked for a late checkout. We were told this was not possible - I’m sure housekeeping couldn’t clean all the rooms at the same time so it would seem that 4 hrs would be sufficient to allow people with late flights to check out later. This was the only negative. Two staff particularly stand out as going the extra step to make guests happy- Walter and Ingrid-bravo

Last minute trip to get out of the cold. Resort beautiful. Rooms are great and large and comfortable. Butlers attentive and respond quickly to requests via text. Property beautiful. Positivo Asian restaurant is amazing as well as the servers super friendly. Resort felt very empty despite being Christmas week. Couple of negatives. Requested turn down service nightly at 8:00. First evening there no turn down service provided. Coa for breakfast I would not recommend. Went first day and bird poop on all the chairs outside and birds and poop all over tables. Waitress put towel on chairs to cover the poop so didn’t sit on it. Service was lacking and left dirty tables that were attacked by the birds. Hotel needs to do something about the birds- completely unsanitary. Some Mexican hotels have trained hawks keep birds away they should look into. Went to La Cocina for coffee the rest of the stay was great with great cookies. Service at beach slow. Ordered lunch one day. After an hour we complained and waiter said food was attacked by birds while bringing to us and remaking it. They did right thing and comped the lunch. Tried to get couples massage and had zero availability throughout the stay. You would think they would extend spa hours festive week. On day of check out as Bonvoy gold member requested 3:00 check out being that there were at least three of my category rooms available online that day but of course they claimed high occupancy and made us check out by 1:00. Manager made no effort to accommodate us despite many unsold rooms in same category as ours. For $7000/night for a room the hotel should not have this many negatives.

The hotel is beautiful, however, my daughter and son in law had reservations for my birthday but my dog had to get emergency surgery and went into kidney failure so we tried to reschedule. We wanted to get a credit from the hotel so we can go when things are better, but this hotel REFUSED adamantly about this request! The cost was over $6,000 and they wouldnt budge even for a later date! I have been here before and planned on going back since I always was under the impression that they have exemplary customer service but I think not!

Absolutely fell in love with this place. Spectacular beach, huge room, great pool vibe, great staff, we are eager to return. We stayed in a second floor room on the East Beach and we were very happy with the accommodation. The room was massive and had a fantastic, very private view. An outdoor shower is always a treat and we used it every day. East side is less expensive than West side and I debated where to be, but I feel like we made a very good decision. West dropped you straight onto the gorgeous beach and was closer to the market and the Encanto pool, but East has gorgeous huge ocean views and is only a 2 minute walk down to the Positivo pool/ main pavilion where we spent the bulk of our time. We stayed 6 nights and didn't tire of the food selections - COA and Positivo Sand Bar are great. We also tried Flor de Sal and it was a beautiful space, but food was not nearly as good as the other two restaurants. If you don't like Asian cuisines you may get a bit bored with the offerings, but we had one big dinner at COA, two dinners at COA bar and two dinners at Positivo and had different and delicious choices each time. Especially recommend miso margarita from Positivo if you're a marg fan, subtle lovely taste and the Green gin cocktail poolside is a perfect hot weather drink. The physical property is amazing and very well maintained, many walking paths and again that beach is just pure fun, the softest sand, clearest water and easy entry in and out as a breakwater helps keeps the waves manageable. My husband spent a morning at the spa prior to a massage and he raved about both the offerings at the spa (steam room, etc.) and the actual massage.

My husband I stayed at Dorado Beach for the first time and lets just say we will be back. We live in Texas and have told each other that we wanted to find a resort that is direct flight from Texas, amazing food, great service and wonderful rooms and let's just say "WE FOUND IT"!!! From the beginning to the end of our trip we had the absolute best time. The check in process was very smooth and the staff was very friendly upon arrival. The entrance walking up to check in desk is gorgeous with all the water features!! Matthew at check in was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations as we were first timers!!! Restaurants: We ate at Coa our first night and had a great start to our trip. Our server nicknamed Kiki was so great. The service was a bit long( 2hours ) but the staff was attentive and even gave us a round of drinks due to the wait. I highly recommend the Dover Sole fish and the pheasant. Our second night we went to Flor De Sol and had another great server Rosi and it her attitude matched the amazing Fishermans Risotto and Branzino!!! Beach: We had beach chairs set up everyday for us outside our room and Mike was so great and friendly. He checked on us routinely and I even left a cover up out one day and he made sure to get it back to me the next day. Pool: We spent first day at the adult pool and beach spot and had wonderful service from Jessica and Naomi. They were so sweet and friendly!! Our butlers Chen, Angel and Trent were so attentive and all I had to do if I needed anything was text them on Whatsup and they would respond and make sure we were always taken care of. We changed our excursion and Chen was right on top of it. Trent gave us some great historical information about the property and the geography of the area. Spa: My husband and I had a couples massage and I would the spa is very gorgeous but the cost is a bit pricey.

We did not use our embajador for much at all and felt a little awkward about that, but everyone was SO friendly and helpful.

I thought this was the nicest beach I have been to outside of Hawaii. Very safe and protected and ohh so close to the room! The lower level rooms we too busy with people walking around in front of you, but the upstairs rooms were uber. So, moving on, I thought the rooms and the woodwork and the whole package was as nice as I have ever been to. It reminded me of the rooms at Hualalai in Kona. We do not think we could even afford the hardware, never mind the woodwork! Again about the room, it was so close to the beach I could almost throw a golf ball into the ocean. Speaking of golf, we played a number of times at their course too. Not sure how this makes it a top 25 in the world but it was nice (just not top 25 by any means) Still, we had a blast and they were totally great to us! The gals running the Spa had to deal with an internal issue and I had to hustle a bit for my birthday but they could not have done a better job. They were so nice. Then they comp-ed us for our treatment. As far as the bicycles go... it may be time for some TLC for them LOL. I was going downhill with the brakes on full and let's just say it was an adventure! But even so, how can you knock the place. Ritz has been quite good to us as we like 4-S too and try to stay at their destination. However, Ritz please keep on showing us the love and we'' be picking you first!

We visited Dorado Beach Ritz Reserve for our anniversary in Aug of 2024. The property and room were breathtaking however the services did not live up to the price and expected quality of the stay. My husband and I were highly disappointed in the level of attention to detail and lack responsiveness shown by the ambassador team (Bulter Service). Many of our requests for assistance were not acknowledged or by the time they were acknowledged I had already completed the actions on my own. The ambassador team also did not follow through on many of the actions they recommended/offered. I also did not receive a full tour of the Dorado property and had no idea of all the amenities that were available to us such as the many restaurants that fall outside of the RITZ Reserve portion of the property and the water park and because of this I don’t feel as if we were able to maximize the full potential of our stay. I recommend that RITZ Reserve team provides full tours of the DORADO Property to all of their guests upon arrival (or at lease provide a full listing of amenities and restaurants) instead of limiting their guests too the few options made available to then within the RITZ Reserve boundary of the property.

The best vacation spot that I have ever visited. The beaches were clean. The food was excellent. The service was fantastic. We had breakfast at the main dining area and it was great. The Italian restaurant rivals the best in NYC. Love this place.

10/10 experience at Dorado Ritz-Reserve. My husband and I took our honeymoon at this resort and it was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. They upgraded us to a west side suite and it was everything. The rooms are amazing, with an outdoor shower which was my favorite part. The property is HUGE! Make sure you go on the tour and rent some bikes as well. It was a tropical paradise. Every single staff member we encountered was truly remarkable. Our ambassadors Trent and Chen made our honeymoon so amazing. Every restaurant was phenomenal, especially Positivo. We ate there twice! I really want to recognize the hard working, passionate, professional employees we had the pleasure of meeting over the 4 days we were there. I apologize in advance for those I forgot to mention. These people were the best part of Dorado Ritz-Reserve. I could go on and on, but I’m sure you get the point now! I am counting down the days till I return to this magical place. Great Service but hidden costs/price gouging - beware! The good: - Service is fantastic and on par with expectations for a 5-star hotel. Butlers do a particularly good job making sure every need is attended to. - rooms are lovely, especially the outdoor shower in the beach kings. - beach is secluded and pristine - cold plunge and hot pools are very refreshing/relaxing - Restaurants owned by hotel are very good (but absurdly overpriced). -amenities at the spa are fantastic as is the setting - very nice gym facilities The bad: - death by hidden fees… they threw 150$ a night resort fee on the bill without telling us. They also charged 40$ a day for parking without telling us. We only paid 1000$ a night for our room.. a +15% hidden fee is just rude. Tell us upfront, don’t hide this stuff. This is why I will not come back. - the restaurants are truly price gouging. I live in manhattan and am rarely hit with sticker shock looking at prices.. but good lord are COA and Positivo absurdly overpriced (85$ for a don julio 1942! More expensive than any restaurant in manhattan). -Spa amenities were great, the massages themselves were below average. No matter what treatment you select, you will get a low pressure “relaxation massage”. I pinched a nerve in my neck and specifically asked for a deep tissue treatment. 400$ later I was frustrated and still in pain. - hot water in the bathrooms takes 15+ minutes to kick in. We would wake up in the morning and turn on our showers then go back to bed for 20 min to let it warm up. - restaurants not owned by hotel, like Encanto, should be avoided at all costs. Wait staff was outright rude. The manager took notice of our treatment and offered some compensation but we politely refused and simply will not return. Overall, this was a pretty good experience. When price adjusted, it falls into the 3-4 star bucket for me. We have stayed at many 5 star Caribbean resorts, and Dorado beach probably falls somewhere just below the middle in terms of value/experience.

Talked to the front desk, and they sent the security to look for it. They found it! Thank you so much! F&B: COA Waygu and A5 steaks were amazing! Loved the Pina Coladas from Positivo. I was surprised and disappointed by the yoga class charge on the final bill. I saw two pages of schedules in the room, one is nature-related activities with prices on it, another is the weekly wellness classes without prices. I thought the workout classes were included in the resort fee like all other wellness resorts we have been to, especially, in our room has a yoga mat. Nope, it's a la carte. I don't mind paying but it would be better with the correct information up front. (The butler told the bellman to drive me to Barlovento, but it's actually at Encanto Beach Club). Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful and relaxing resort!

Whether traveling just the two of us or with our two young children it is very important to us to stay at a self contained resort having multiple dining options, which this property more than delivered on. We also loved the complimentary nightly rum tastings which was such a fun and unique way to bring in Puerto Rican culture.

The lush setting, gracious and attentive service, all within a mid size resort, enables visitors to truly benefit from the Ritz Carlton guest experience. A few notes to consider: If want beach access and closer resort walks, consider West rooms. More expensive but worth it. Room’s with plunge pools are personal preference since pool never felt crowded. Go to the spa, 5 acres of total relaxation enjoy the day and even have lunch. Price, yes it’s expensive, yes the resort fee is $150, but given that he complete experience we never once second guessed our decision to stay 5 nights. Order the wagyu steak at COA and ask the sommelier for a wine recommendation, get a couples nest seat at the Positivo and share some sushi and Japanese treats Go to the rum tasting and meet a golden key concierge Take a bike ride through the reserve Float, swim and float again in the protected beach cove
