we stayed in the eden apple room , very spacious, clean, whirlpool, sauna, in room pool, were great! breakfast was average , dinner was great !! service was great . my wife enjoyed feeding the deer, they ate out of your hand . we are retired and enjoyed the midweek quiet time at resort
Really great place for a getaway. The staff was amazing and welcoming. The room was perfect. We had a great time. Nobody bothers you. You can choose to do the activities they offer or do your own things. The accommodations were beyond perfect.
The weather was really cold, but I liked that there were always activities planned each night that got people together. Don't forget to check out the game room below Spooners Lounge. One thing to remember. At dinner, if you leave a tip on the table, it goes to the server....

One thing to remember. At dinner, if you leave a tip on the table, it goes to the server. You also may get a drink bill. If you leave a tip on this drink bill, It Also Goes To The Server. Not the bartender. I just wanted to help you understand where your tips were going. The bartender gets a small % of the dinner tips, which isn't very much. So if you would like to tip the bartender, you are better off tipping them in person.

There was mud and dirt as soon as we opened the door. It needs updated. The heated private pool was the best. Fridge had to be unplugged because it was soo loud. Have to buy a fire log just to use the fireplace. Should be provided for as much as you pay for the room. Parking is not close to the dining and it was very cold to be walking to it every time. Enjoyed Spooners with the downstairs activities. Bowling is a neat feature. Definitely a better place to go when it is nicer outside, probably more to do.

We’d visit again and stay more than 1 night
Overall great couples experience. Room was very clean and comfortable. Only negative experience was having to wait almost 1.5 hours for our room. My wife and I both agreed that we’d visit again and again and use the same room. Guest services was also impeccable.
Another Great Cove Haven trip!!! March 2025
It's Super 70s cheesy vibe in the best way possible!! Our 2nd time at Cove Haven. The. Staff is Wonderful, food is Wonderful, entertainment is good and plenty to do! Always a great time. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and my husbands 50th Birthday 🎂🎈❤️❤️
Coven Haven is a very mixed bag. There is a great experience with amazing staff paired with a poorly managed and maintained property. As you pull into the property, you'll first encounter semi-wild deer to greet you. They're tame enough to pet. You can buy a small bag of feed...
Coven Haven is a very mixed bag. There is a great experience with amazing staff paired with a poorly managed and maintained property.
As you pull into the property, you'll first encounter semi-wild deer to greet you. They're tame enough to pet. You can buy a small bag of feed for $5 at the gift shop, or remember to bring an $8 huge bag of deer feed. If you like animals, the latter will be well worth it.
Do not arrive on a busy check out day like a Sunday. Yes, the weekday fees are better, but don't expect your room to be ready. We arrived at 3:30p and were given a room at 7pm (an upgraded room since our original tier STILL wasn't ready). We heard stories of rooms not ready at 11pm. Management uses an outside housekeeping service.
The staff and entertainment is just hands-down amazing! Friendly and talented (and likely overworked). They are the true gem of the visit.
The room (upgraded to the top tier, remember) was okay. The fireplace (duraflame only) was still a little smoky. The champagne tower hot tub is really lame- it takes forever to fill and it's just not comfortable. On the other hand, the private heated pool is such a blessing. The sauna was also nice, but it's a shame that it's not a steam sauna. On the bad side, the constant hum of the pool equipment was annoying but you eventually get used to it.
There's a minifridge in the bathroom. We found a bottle of something completely disgusting that used to be orange juice. I guess that housekeeping company isn't so great. The star-lit ceiling was 80% burned out. The light in the water closet was burned out- have fun pooping in the dark! Overall everything was run down, cracked, and/or stained. But the shower was recently renovated- of course, they reversed the hot and cold water supplies so you have to set the shower to cold to have a hot shower.
We did some activities like play (and win) trivia, bowling, use the hiking trail, did archery, and participated in a scavenger hunt which was depressing. We didn't find the hidden jewelry, but we did look around everywhere and noticed how many buildings are literally falling apart. Most of the property is just run down.
The food was hit or miss. Sunday's mashed potatoes were the worst I've ever had. Flavorless. The next night, we took butter, cheese, and other items from the salad bar for the mashed potatoes but then realized they were completely different from the night before. Breakfast was continental- the same variety and quality we had at holiday inn on the way to the resort. Dinner, other than the potatoes, was pretty decent but nothing special.
The guests were a mixed bag, too. We talked with some of the nicest people and also noticed some couples that just seemed miserable or very sketchy.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. I probably wouldn't go back, but I do like the in-room pool. I'm sure somewhere else in this country has the same amenities, so I would try them first.

Most of everything was great with the exceptions of some of the grounds isn't well kept and is in dire need of remodeling. The spa area is great, with the wonderful sana and indoor heated swimming pool but the hot tub wasn't filled and that was VERY disappointing. This is our 4th visit to the set of Cove Haven sites where the hot tub is always either filled with water and running yet still closed, or out of order all together. The heart shaped tub in our room was unusable as they DO NOT CLEAN THE JETS AND HAVE MOLD IN THEM!!! My wife and I agree, despite these MAJOR ISSUES and that we will never again be using the heart shaped tub in the rooms, we still highly recommend visiting the Coves as they have alot more to offer for what you pay, as opposed to a big trip overseas.

My wife and I were looking forward to our trip to Cove Haven as it was much needed alone time for us. It was my Valentine's gift to her.
We arrived at 3:30 pm. As soon as it was our time to 'check-in', the computers stopped working. Technology...I get it...it is out of our control. In the meantime, urinal in the men's bathroom overflowed; water seeping into registration area. Both the men's and women's bathroom were closed. Again, out of our control. Did not get to our room until after 5 pm. The two women at the desk were great...for our inconvenience, we were given a voucher for two free drinks and an appetizer at the sports bar...Spooners!
Get into our room and it's freezing in there. The heat was not on...temps were in the teens with a wind chill in the single digits. No heat...we go to dinner...check out Spooners...end up back in the room around 10 pm...room is still cold even with the heat on for close to 5 hours. My wife calls the front desk twice and was told; "heat rises". Really? We were sent a brand new space heater and additional blankets around 10:30 pm...wake up in the am, heater we had turned on when we arrived at the room the night before was now OFF...the heater in the bathroom which is facing inwards is not working properly. Decide to take a shower before we head to breakfast...NO HOT WATER!!! Supposedly a pipe burst the day/night before. Off we go to the front desk where we are met with apologies and an upgrade to a better room. So we pack up and move...thank you to the same to women who were doing their best to 'make things better for us'.
We get to the new room...it's nice...we went from a cold Cove Harbour suite to a Garden of Eden Apple suite...we unpack and go for a swim in the rooms private pool...sit in the sauna for a bit and then decide to take a shower...there's NO WATER coming out of the shower...we are told the pipes are frozen!! We had to move AGAIN...two doors down where there is running water and heat...pack up and move a 2nd time in one day...after all the room HEADACHES, this suite was where we stayed for two night...we were partially comped for the 1st and 2nd night...IMO, should have been completely comped for night #1...partially for #2...the inconveniences were awful...the two women at the front desk did all they could to help make things better...
Other small items: fixtures in the bathroom sinks were very loose...turning on the water made the spigot move all over the place...I had to tighten the 'nut' underneath two sinks because they were not tight enough...dining room was short-staffed so we were told...we waited for our entrée for close to 40 minutes on one of the nights...no heat in the upper part of the sports bar...walk ways were not completely salted/sanded...
We enjoyed the entertainment and the quality of the food was excellent...deer on the property come right to you...it was very cool they would eat out of your hands...
We realize it is winter and things happen but you can't make any of this stuff up...
I was hoping this could be a yearly thing but go in the summer when it is nicer but I am not so sure now

Overall experience was good
Check in was not a good experience. I went with other couples. In the reservation process I asked to have rooms next to each other. Person was like. Sure no problem. Check in was 330 pm. I didn't get my room until 5pm. Had to be a dozen other couples without rooms at 5pm. I aslo met others who had waited longer for the room. Past 530pm.
Coven haven needs to get it together with check in. Should not have guests waiting for rooms

Will never stay here again. Don't waste your money or time
1.0
The idea of the property, we booked this trip for a relaxing romantic getaway like was seen in the pictures. The idea of the different rooms were appealing.
@ Garden of Eden room
-Shocked by bathroom lightswitch
-Half of the receptacles do not work
-Sauna door broken so can't shut won't stay warm for more than 5 minutes
-Pool room was cold feels like air is blowing around constantly unfit to go swimming in
-Receptacles on lamps don't work
-No access to water like advertised
-No access to ice or anything.
After going down this morning and voicing our concerns again we were upgraded to a different room which was the Champagne Towers
-Hot water doesn't work in the shower had to take a cold shower
-Food was Awful butter noodles 37 dollars a person for McDonald's version of fancy
-75 dollar charge to accidentals but none of my stuff worked to begin with
130 dollar service fee for what? Resort is trash
-Called three times for water was told a different lie each time, no one had any water

Let me preface this review by stating that I’ve NEVER previously written a review of a restaurant, hotel or resort in my life but I’ve been compelled to write this review on the Cove Haven resort in the Poconos. I Apologize in advance for the length of this review but I just have to vent. Had to sign a 3 page liability waiver at check in, that should have been the first clue that this would be a disaster.
First, the Room Heater sounds Like a 747 every time it comes on, can’t sleep. Not a very comfortable bed. Bed is on wheels so every time you get out of it you feel like you are falling over. I can usually sleep almost anywhere but was not able to sleep here.
Ordered a bottle of champagne and they delivered it with a cardboard “ice bucket” and plastic glasses but no ice. Requested ice and was finally delivered hours later. Wanted to make a mimosa but the “gift shop” did not have orange juice. Also ordered a “meat and cheese” platter and the crackers were as soggy as wet newspaper.
Coliseum restaurant seats over 200-300 people and has no parking lot. They tell you to park at the gift shop or Spooners lounge across the street but each only has about 5 parking spots. You have to park on the street, but there are signs on the street that say “no parking, park in lot” How does that math work? Long extremely steep ramp to get from the street to the restaurant, not even close to ADA compliant for my physically disabled wife. We had snow/freezing rain the night we arrived and leaving the “Coliseum” after dinner the steep ramp was not shoveled/treated and the walk down the ramp was treacherous and frightening. Sidewalks that led from the street parking to the Coliseum were sheets of ice. I guess they’ve never heard of shovels, snow plows or rock salt at this place. It’s not like it never snows in the Poconos. The walkway from our room to the parking lot was never shoveled or treated either. The parking lots and road were also not shoveled/treated. I took the shovel from my truck and shoveled the walkway at least 3 times. There were 2 handicap spots behind the restaurant but they can’t tell you how to get there, but I finally found it on my own by going down the “service road” which is labelled “no access” . Ramp from handicap spots to restaurant was frozen over and not treated. For a place that purports to be all about love, they seem to have little concern about the safety of their guests. They supposedly have a “maintenance department” but I’m not sure what they do, but it’s sure not clearing roads and walkways. This is extremely criminal.
Chris was our server for all of our meals and he was outstanding. Great personality, funny, very attentive and helpful. He is a great employee and an outstanding representative of the business. They are lucky to have him in their employ. Dinners were ok, but they say you can’t take your remaining food from dinner in a “doggie bag” just “can’t do that”. Never heard anything more ridiculous in my life. I paid for the food, I should be able to take it. I suggest bringing your own Ziploc bags and taking the food yourself. This is criminal too. Tried to participate in the “trivia contest” at the bar scheduled for 5:30 before our dinner. Arrived at 5:25 and were told it was already over. We were also told that a shuttle could take us from our room to the Coliseum because there was no parking available and when I called the shuttle I was told that it wasn’t working. This was easily the worst “vacation” experience I’ve ever had, and it’s not even close. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. If I could rate it with negative stars I would. Can’t express my disappointment enough. This place is an absolute joke and not in a good way. Avoid at all costs.

The parking lots and walking areas were VERY icy, the heater in our bedroom did not work well, and the blanket on the bed was very thin. However, the staff were very nice and dinner was delicious. This resort would probably be more fun in the spring or summer due to more options of activities and being able to walk around the compound.

my boyfriend and i had a great time at cove haven celebrating valentine's day! it was very snowy and icy while we were there, though, so we definitely want to come back during either the summer or fall months to fully enjoy everything the property has to offer. that doesn't mean we still didn't have fun! the food was good and the arcade games were a lot of fun! also LOVED the pool in our room. very cozy atmosphere. only complaint i have is that they could have salted the area where our room was better. it was very icy and was worried about falling. plus, bring back the pocono love potion cups!!!! can't wait to visit again :)

The convenience of the campus spacing was very good too with dining and breakfast close to lodging and gift shop
I stayed in the Champagne suit all good but need to be updated far as the rug. The pool van be repainted and the cracks filled in. The fire logs were too smokey we couldnt breath well and oir eyes were burning and running. Other then that very good

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!
First we booked and paid a month in advance! We drive 9 hours to get here and arrived at 10 pm ( mind you check in is at 3 pm) to be told our room we paid for was unavailable due to issues I felt weren’t worth us not having a room. I had to argue for compensation and was told we would be refunded the first night and stay in a room for free… the room was terrible and the next day the room we paid for was dirty!!! Stuff was floating in the tub the tubs were dirty and brown stuff came out the faucet!!! The customer service is absolutely unacceptable the lady at the front tried to lie and say she could give me a final receipt to prove the refund because I knew it would be a problem! A month later it still hasn’t come !! Terrible I don’t suggest this place and at and should sue!!
