Friendly receptionist greeted us on arrival. The hotel looks fab from outside with a mix of original castle and subtle modern extensions. Interior does not disappoint. Lots of lovely seating areas dotted throughout the building and a lovely fire at the area close to reception. All areas clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious with all that we needed for our stay. The wine and chocolates with handwritten note was very much appreciated and enjoyed !!. We ate dinner in Fahrenheit restaurant, and savoured every bite. We had earlier enjoyed drinks in Knights bar. In both areas the service was excellent. The staff here are friendly and accommodating. Assistant manager on reception when we were checking out( I think her name was Arina ,( apologies if I got this wrong) was extremely helpful dealing with my query re future booking in July.
I would def recommend this hotel. My husband and I are looking forward to coming back for a longer stay to celebrate nieces wedding later this year. S Toner

The room was excellent
We had food at the bar it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. I got steak it was inedible
Complete fat and raw. I sent it back and 40 minutes later I gave up on getting a new one and just cancelled
They gave us the entire meal for free which was fair but I'd have just preferred a decent meal
I had lunch there today and the food again was appalling,
Bar staff are extremely rude it's borderline comical how rude they are. For the price , it's not good.

Room not ready at 4pm

We had dinner in Knights bar that evening, service was slow but it was super busy and the staff were attentive. We regretted not trying Fahrenheit restaurant but will do this on our next stay.
Breakfast was nice the following morning with a good selection.
Super stay and we will definitely be back.

I can't speak highly enough of our experience at Clontarf Castle. I travel a lot for work and my stay here ranks among the best I've had. In particular the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating - we'd had to adjust our travel plans because of Storm Eowyn and the staff did everything possible to make that easier. They were always cheerful and helpful - even at half 2 in the morning with a (very) late check-in!
The hotel itself is beautiful - a converted castle with original features throughout. The breakfast was delicious, the beds comfortable, and the service phenomenal. I'd like to particularly thank Arthur who delivered especially brilliant service that stood out even among the exceptional service we'd received from every other staff member.

Just back from a fabulous weekend in Clontarf Castle where we had an amazing time. On checking in we were met by Irani who dealt with us in a very friendly & efficient manner and offered us an upgrade to an executive room which we gratefully accepted. The room itself was beautiful complete with a magnificent 4 poster bed.
We had dinner in the Knights bar that evening where we were served by helpful & knowledgeable staff, the food was delicious, very tasteful and great value for money. There was a great atmosphere all around the hotel even though it was mid January and not as busy as normal.
Breakfast in the Fahrenheit restaurant the next morning was superb, excellent service, a great selection of hot & cold foodstuffs all of the highest quality.
All in all this was a tremendously weekend and we will certainly be returning in the near future.

I was blown away by this hotel. I can't believe how reasonable the rates were for the quality. All staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was beautiful and pristinely clean. The amenities were exceptional. Our room overlooked the parking lot and I was worried about noise, but we didn't even hear other room doors closing as you usually do in a hotel. It was so quiet and peaceful inside. The location was great - at least for us as we wanted to be away from the center. It was a quick walk to the waterfront promenade and easy to get in and out for day trips out of Dublin. We are already talking about returning to Ireland just to stay here again. It was one of the best hotel stays I can remember having.

My wife & I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of March whilst visiting family & taking in a show at the 3 Arena which is only 10 or so minutes tax¡i ride away.
We were impressed by the staff at reception & the check in was very quick.
Right away we had family to meet in the bar ( Knights bar) & the food was excellent. Fish & Chips restaurant style & excellent it was.
The following day was Mother's day & we were wanting to lunch with some of our Dublin relatives. Despite the obvious demand of the day the bar manager was able to get us a table for 4, and are we glad he did. It was a 3 course set menu with a glass of prosecco for around 45€ pp. The food was superb, the main that I had was baked cod on a bed of pomme puree but I know it as champ. It also had cauliflower sprigs with a superb cheese sauce. Delicious & the service from the waiters & waitresses was top notch.
Our bedroom was great, standard hotel size I would say. But it was spotless and fresh looking. the bed & bedding were great but I did find the pillows a bit too thick for my liking. One wasn't enough & 2 pillows left my head too high.
The only thing in the whiole place that looked a bit tired was the carpet in the hall outside our room but other than that the hotel is in great condition.
So with all that said we will be returning when we next visit Dublin. It's location near the coast road in Clontarf is excellent and the quality of all the staff we dealt with were excellent. And special mention to Marta one of the waitresses in Knights bar, she was very attentive and food & drink was promptly served.

Thank you to all the team at Clontarf Castle for making our wedding the incredible day it was. Within minutes of our first visit, we knew it was the venue for us. Every person we dealt with couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and engaged with us through all stages, from the viewing to the menu tasting, in the run up to our wedding and on the wedding day itself. We felt like king and queen of the castle. The food on the night was absolutely delicious and plentiful- so many of our guests complimented it. The castle is such a fun and unique place to celebrate in. We honestly couldn't fault a thing.
A special thanks to Monica, wedding coordinator extraordinaire.
Can't wait to return for our anniversary.

Expecting to see a majestic castle, we were greeted by a huge parking lot. Not even some trees stood in between. Furthermore, the new part of the building is stuffy and dated and built like a maze, with depressingly low ceilings.
The medieval tower, which should rather be the central part of the hotel, is kind of pushed back by the "modern" part, its garish colours and patterns. Since there aren't many castles left intact in Ireland, there is a duty to cherish and highlight the existing ones.
Plus, the three days we stayed, we always had to wait for our beverages until we had almost finished breakfast. More than once they wouldn't have arrived at all if we hadn't reminded the staff.
And what I don't want to see, in any hotel, are bed throws and decorative bed cushions of any kind. Since they're not being washed after each guest, or so I assume, they're highly unhygienic.
All of that said, I spend three relaxing days in Clontarf Castle, without any disturbances. Staff were very friendly and overall helpful. If you don't mind the wild style mixes and don't want coffee or tea to go with breakfast, you will enjoy the stay.
