Stayed here for 2 nights in one of the City Suites as we were getting married at a venue close by. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. 1) On both nights we were kept awake by loud music coming from the property. Despite the hotel receptionist assuring us the noise was not from the property (and as such there was nothing they could do), another member of staff later admitted it was from the property and upon check out a second staff member confirmed the noise was likely from an event they were hosting that evening. 2) the shower was ice cold one of the mornings, despite running it for over 10 minutes. 3) the electric blinds would randomly start to open and close multiple times throughout the stay and during the night (… which actually was not that much of an inconvenience given we struggled to even fall asleep). We noticed prior reviews about the rooftop being very noisy but had hoped this wouldn’t be an issue in February. Overall an extremely disappointing and overpriced stay - I will be steering clear of all Arlo hotels in the future.

I can’t express my love for the staff both on and off site at Arlo Williamsburg. My husband and I had our apartment burn down and had to find a place to live while we looked for something permanent. They treated us with kindness respect and empathy through the whole experience. If I could’ve moved in here permanently I would’ve. Don’t overlook the bar or restaurant they’re excellent.

Barely adequate, overpriced for what you get
If we paid half what we did, it might have rated better, though I think even a three is being generous in either case. Aside perhaps from proximity to the subway and the availability of a balcony there's not much to say truly positive about the experience of staying there....
If we paid half what we did, it might have rated better, though I think even a three is being generous in either case. Aside perhaps from proximity to the subway and the availability of a balcony there's not much to say truly positive about the experience of staying there. The rooms are small, the amenities nothing to speak of, there was no dresser, no seating, not even by the desk, not enough hangars, no way to make tea in the room, it was noisy, the latch on our slider was broken, you get the drift....... After leaving the Arlo we moved to a hotel in midtown Manhattan at half the price and with none of those issues. We had to be there for an event, but we won't be back.

Don’t book this hotel if you’re planning on sleeping between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. During my stay, there were private club events with massive sound systems and booming bass that could be heard even on higher floors. After the events ended around 4 a.m., guests continued making noise in the hallways, so sleep was challenging.
If you’re here to party, know that these events are not covered in the additional $35 ‘urban fee’ charged, and may not always be accessible to hotel guests. Overall, this hotel doesn’t cater well to either restful or party-focused stays. If they’re transitioning into a club venue, they should reconsider the hotel aspect. That said, the room views were quite nice.

The hotel is beautiful, appears to be new. We normally stay at a different hotel in Brooklyn which is closed for renovations so we chose to give Williamsburg a try. The staff are great and room was clean. I would stay again depending on rates here.

The rooftop bar had a stunning view. But Unfortunately my experience was marred by several issues that I feel warrant your attention:
Unprofessional Bar Service: The behavior of the bartender was exceptionally disappointing. Despite tipping generously throughout the evening, the bartender reacted rudely when we chose not to leave a tip for our last three beers. He threatened to withhold the beers unless we provided a tip, which we did to avoid further conflict. In response, he threw one of the beers on the counter. This incident was not only unprofessional but also incredibly distressing. Regrettably, I did not catch his name.
Malfunctioning Air Conditioning: The air conditioning in our room was not functioning properly. Despite cooler outdoor temperatures, our room remained uncomfortably hot at 78°F throughout our stay. This made the room less than ideal for relaxation.
Faulty Bathroom Door: The bathroom door in our room did not close properly and eventually fell off its hinges. This created significant inconvenience and privacy issues.
Stuck Shade Curtains: The outside shade curtains in our room were stuck at the top and could not be lowered, further affecting our comfort and the room’s ambiance.
Disappointing View: Given that we paid over $600 for our stay, we were expecting a more appealing view. Instead, we were faced with a view of a dumpster, which was far from the relaxing experience we anticipated.

There is no kettle in the room only a coffee machine and a very small wardrobe. The pool whilst lovely with great views is also small. It has a nice feel overall but it is the breakfast lets the whole experience down. This is one area where improvements are needed. I will review sungold separately.

What a place!
This hotel has everything one could wish for from a hotel and more.
From the old factory rustic style but yet so modern to the epic rooftop swimming pool with a bar and great service.
The watertank bar offers one of the best views of the Manhattan skyline i've ever seen and the views are breathtaking.
The rooms feature a comfy bed with a spacious bathroom and a balcony with a view.
The location is great as well. We personally loved how close it was to the North Williamsburg ferry stop which is a great way to get into Manhattan. The staff here are all very friendly and helpful.
The drinks at the bars (all 3 of them) are great. The restaurant is also amzing, not the biggest menu but something for everyone.
I will 100% be back and will recommend this place to everyone who asks me where to stay in NYC
