Alvear Art Hotel

The location is perfect. The staff are welcoming and courteous. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable. The bathroom amenities are nice, breakfast is good. The staff recommended good shows and made the arrangements , it made our stay in Argentina more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel.

Concierge got me a hard to nab tango show ticket when everything was sold out for Christmas Eve It was also reasonably priced Housekeeping requests were not handled well but tiny flaw

Although the hotel and staff are fine, the process for resolving maintenance reports and issues should be improved. The shower drain was so slow that (1) there was water on the floor all the way to the bathroom door after my first shower. I reported the problem to the front desk staff member who said he would send maintenance. Took a shower in the evening, (2) flooded again, and I reported again. Shower next morning (3) flooded again so I limited the time to limit the flooding. Reported again (4) but the manager will not arrive until mid morning. Also, the left night shade inoperative, so I reported that also.

Stayed in the Alvear Art for three nights and an enjoyable stay it was too. Room was large, clean and comfortable with a lovely large bathroom that had a separate "jacuzzi" bath as well as a separate walk-in shower. Hotel staff were approachable and friendly, providing a nice service at breakfast and in the bar area. The reception staff were helpful also, advising on check in and the local area. The hotel is in a good location and you can walk to many areas from it, in a safe environment. Really enjoyed our stay here and when we left we felt refreshed and ready for the rest of our trip

Service exceptional and professional, staff went above and beyond. They checked in the room. I also loved this facility as it was so central. You could walk everywhere downtown, close to restaurants. Beautiful artwork throughout the hotel. The wait staff at the bar and restaurant were very helpful.

Wonderful staff beautiful hotel, beautiful fitness and pool, very clean. Good food! The views of Buenos Aires were breathing. Loved the reception experience and bell men and location was in an excellent area. Sage and close to restaurants and shops

Location is really good, close to most things. Hotel is clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. However, let down by silly extras which could easily be built into room pricing as most hotels do….e.g. we were surprised that in a 5 star hotel, we were charged on checkout for the coffee pods we used in the room ($3 per pod!) This wasn’t made clear either by staff or in the room that it was an extra, especially as it was the only option in the room for a hot drink. Most hotels that differentiate room options by the coffee facilities don’t put the machines in the lower grade rooms. Also, any prepared eggs at breakfast are charged as extras , again unusual for a 5 star hotel, although this was at least made clear to us before ordering, but at $6 for two fried eggs seemed a lot. Even though the absolute price itself is not a lot, it’s the principle for such a minor thing that’s usually included given the low cost to the hotel and the high price of the rooms.

Wow, what a wonderful hotel! We stayed here at the end of our two-week vacation in Chile and Argentina, and it was a great way to end the trip. The hotel is architecturally impressive and is well-located for seeing attractions in Buenos Aires. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go. Our room was very spacious and had blackout shades and many other amenities. The bathroom was one of the largest hotel bathrooms I have experienced, with two sinks on a spacious counter, a whirlpool bathtub, shower and toilet/bidet enclosure. The staff was very helpful, and the restaurant top-notch. Highly recommended.

After 16 hours of travelling from the UK we were blessed to say at this hotel for 3 nights. Checking in was easy we got access to our room straight away (1330 in the afternoon). The hotel is spotless with some wonderful works of art. We were lucky enough to stay on the 14th floor with great views of the city and a glimpse of the sea. The bed was supremely comfortable, we were able to watch sport on the tv in the room. We asked for small bits of kind service like the use of cutlery for our take out, the use of a stapler for our luggage tags etc all were done with the minimum of fuss. WiFi worked really well. My one “complaint” is the location and there is not much the hotel can do about that but you are not close to most of the tourist activities. That said UBER’s are so cheap in this country it was no hardship at all.

This hotel is everything you want in a hotel when travelling.great room,friendly service, a spa and very pleasant pool with a view. This a a modern design hotel very well located in the old town. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone staying in BA

Huge scam. Hotel applies a different exchange rate conversion resulting in rates 100% higher than the published rate when you compare to other luxury hotels. All hotels apply official rate and Alvear applies a MEP rate which , as mentioned, is a scam to more than double the effective proce....

Huge scam. Hotel applies a different exchange rate conversion resulting in rates 100% higher than the published rate when you compare to other luxury hotels. All hotels apply official rate and Alvear applies a MEP rate which , as mentioned, is a scam to more than double the effective proce. This makes your charge more than double comparable hotels, but you only realie when they force you tonpay. . Checking with Booking.com, they told me they were "special" in a negative way. No other hotel in Buenos Aires uses this rate to scam customers. At the check out many other customers were having similar complains

An excellent hotel with the most wonderful pool at the top of the building - It has a great breakfast and great staff who went out of their way to help us. It is in the center of town and in a safe area.
