We have just spent 5 magic nights at the Island Lagoon Resort. The location is absolutely amazing and being there was like being in heaven. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us as if we were family. Jerry, the Manager, together with all the staff, ensured we had the best experience possible. We were greeted by name by our new friends Mere, Illi, Luke, Rowena, Kay and so many more. We swam so often, regardless of tides, and could cycle, kayak or SUP with our personal equipment whenever we wanted. We have never such a great experience as our 5 nights there. All bures were wonderful, it wouldn't matter which one you had. If you possibly can, you should go there and stay as long as you can. The included breakfast was tropical plus hot food, and included requests such as for omelettes. Lunches and dinners were also delicious, with evening serenades. There is nothing about this resort that was not exceptional.

We stayed for 4 nights and it was heaven. Beds are wonderful, outdoor shower is a great idea. The views are breathtaking, and grounds are lovely. Don't forget the crab race. There are bikes, paddle boards and kayaks to use. Would stay again.

I stayed a total of 4 nights here as a couples getaway and it was nothing short of incredible. Being on it's own private island makes you feel so separate from the rest of the world, giving it a peaceful and relaxing vibe the whole time. Even though it's a bit of a distance from the city centre of Aitutaki, there's always things to keep you busy. My partner and I loved the personalised bikes, SUP and kayaks allocated to each villa. The Deluxe Room is definitely my recommendation on a room. It is incredibly spacious with your own private courtyard and beach access. Lastly the staff were very friendly and made you feel personally looked after in each interaction. I would like to give a shoutout to Luke who was my waiter in our private dinner. He truly made our night so special and was always smiling. Definitely the place to stay when next in Aitutaki.

This place exceeded our expectations – the water views were absolutely stunning, with the vibrant color of the water just as beautiful as the pictures. We stayed in the standard Beach Bungalow, which was closer to the water and felt much more private than some of the premium lagoon-view options. The included breakfast was simple (which seems typical for the Pacific), and while the restaurant menu was good, the dishes weren’t always prepared as well as we hoped (similar to places like Fiji). We ended up dining out more often, as the local food quality was better. Having bikes, water sports equipment, and snorkelling gear included in the bungalow was a great touch, and everything was well-maintained. One of the resort pools could use some maintenance, but the second pool was open, although we didn’t see anyone using it, given the lagoon’s location. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with staff who clearly cared about the guests. It was really hot, so make sure to pack light clothing, hats, and plenty of sunscreen!

We stayed here for 3 days. We had 2 days of gorgeous weather and 1 day of torrential rain. The hotel was beautiful. On a private island with a little boat that runs all day from 7am to 10pm everyday. The views as spectacular. Our room was stunning, we had our own pool which was a surprise upgrade when we got there. Each room has its own bikes /kayaks/ snorkels/fins/standup paddle boards and so many other things. Very well thought of. Breakfast each day was included and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, I would def recommend this hotel and will go back again . Simply heaven

Simply stunning! All bungalows are generously sized. Loved bikes, reef shoes were super handy, and kayaks for each room. Needs shade over the decking area of each bungalow, was way too hot. To which I did 5 days prior to tour, I was called at all hours (7.30 am, 9.30pm) in the lead up to my booking , staff kept asking me if I was still interested in going and to confirm ?! Then on the day it got cancelled by the operator. I managed to have it rescheduled to a PM time slot - aka the heat of the day instead, and with a different company. One that I would not have chosen. I only had one day left to go on my trip so it forced my hand on going as I didn’t want to miss out. For peace of mind boom your own!

Lovely atmosphere and tropical views. All bungalows are provided with push bikes, kayaks and SUP. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful. We loved the option to paddle around the island and over to a nearby island which provided us with a special experience.

Had a great time here. Weather constantly quite hot so needed sunblock and rash shirts. Kayaked around the island and to the next island for lunch. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Luke! Relaxed vibe at the resort and food was great.

This resort is incredible~the location is unique in that it is on its own little island. It has a small ferry that operates all day so if you want to go across to the ‘main island’ you can go any time. We stayed in the Premium Bungalows and had the most gorgeous views out our windows of the beach and all the palm trees- the front is all glass with a slider. There are many extras that are included for your enjoyment: kayaks,paddle boards, hammocks, loungers, bikes, and water sox, which you need because the beach is actually not sand, it’s coral. But that should not discourage anyone from staying here. The food in the restaurant is very good, the service is top notch and the staff is exceptional. I want to give a special shout out to our servers who took such great care of us the entire time~Rawi, Nosi, Teri, Mere, Luke, Maria, and especially chef Anil, who made us a special meal for our last night. It was amazing! And I have to give special appreciation to Pati, the coordinator; she greets each guest with a smile and a beautiful lei and keeps up her friendly spirit every day. She was wonderful. Another added treat was the native local dancers come to the resort twice a week and perform a medley of dances and tribal songs after dinner. All in all this resort is gorgeous, the grounds are kept clean and the beach is quiet and peaceful and is everything a tropical paradise should be.

My partner and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Aitutaki Lagoon Resort. I'd like to commend the staff for their wonderful hospitality, including upgrading our room for the duration of the stay. The team went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable experience. The resort itself is situated on a manicured island, with views out to the lagoon and main island. We made good use of the provided kayaks and bikes to explore the area. Although it as rainy season, we had fabulous weather the entire time. A tour of the lagoon is well worth it, esp one foot island.

On this occasion pictures matched reality with perfect blue sky and stunning water views. Is the resort itself 5 stars no, but it was definitely a 5 star experience. Stayed in the standard Beach Bungalow, which was closer to the water and felt more private then some of the premium options with lagoon views. Included full breakfast was more than expected, and the restaurant menu had sufficient variety each day. Included bikes, water sports crafts and snorkelling equipment in your bungalow was a plus and equipment was well maintained. Spa therapist gave an excellent treatment. One of the resort pools needs some maintenance, however the second pool had superior views and was in great condition. Overall a great experience with staff who clearly cared about the guests. Pack plenty of sunscreen and protective clothes the UV is intense.

This place is heaven on earth. By far the best resort on the island (we checked them all out) The facilities are excellent, each room has their own push bikes to ride around the private island and you can take them onto the ferry and check out the island. You also have your own kayaks, stand up paddle boards and snorkel gear all at your room. The service is fantastic at the restaurant, pool, bar and the rooms. The staff are amazing, so friendly kind and welcoming. They looked after us so well, especially Luke, Mati, Kay, Mere, Locy, Terri and the masseuse Mary. The activities at the resort are great especially the hermit crab races 🐚 and the food is yum with buffet breakfast included with your stay. What an awesome experience, we will definitely be coming back.

They claim to be a 5 ***** luxury resort. More accurate would be to afford them quite a bit less. A place of „Past Glory“ would probably more accurately describe this resort. This said, the overall experience is still a good one if you have a tolerant mind set, capable of lowering your expectations. Keep in mind that you are still on a beautiful, private island and that alone should be considered a great privilege.

We had four nights in a beachfront bungalow, with privacy and direct beach and lagoon access. The views are awe inspiring. The lagoon is exceptional. We got very lucky with picture-postcard, perfect weather every day despite it being the wet season. Would absolutely stay again and very much recommend this resort.

This resort is 5 star, with more than the comforts of home. Staff are the most welcoming of any resort. The food is right up there for choice and quality, despite being miles from the big cities. The best part is the location surrounded by lagoon and reefs. Completely safe and comfortable to snorkel, kayak and SUP. The island is so small you can walk around in 20-30 minutes. It’s a must to get picked up for a snorkelling tour, the experience is well worth it. Private Island is my new favourite place.

Kia Orana! An amazing experience. We celebrated our 30th Anniversary - 3 nights in an overwater bungalow. It was a truly beautiful room. The welcoming arrival and attentive friendly staff Rowena, Kay, Luke, Mere just to name a few. Of course the behind the scenes staff - chefs, grounds people and housekeeping all added positively to our trip also. We had been allocated a different room initially but this was sorted out without too much issue. We were disappointed we were unable to book in for any massages or treatments as there was no space available for the duration of our trip so I recommend booking in advance - and suggest more staff are required in this area - one person is not enough. The breakfast, restaurant, activities and facilities were wonderful. Thoroughly recommended. Metaki

I booked a reservation last November for late April 2025 but need to cancel it due to a medical issue. It's over a month away so I can cancel but I've sent numerous emails and messages on their site requesting to cancel without a response from them. The international phone number for US customers says it can't be completed as dialed. Don't know about it as a resort but their customer service has not been a good experience.
