Reviews of Rimrock Resort Hotel
I couldn't be more disappointed. Scam hotel, unhelpful staff to correct the issue, and tricks customers with an upsell.
DONT BE TRICKED. We haven't even left the hotel yet but can't wait to write this review to help others. They charged us 40% more than the current room rate, wouldn't refund us the difference, and tried to upsell us $180 more than what we already paid.
Exceptional Service and Breathtaking Views
Our stay at this hotel was unforgettable, with breathtaking views from the room that made it extra special. A heartfelt thanks to Amrit, the housekeeper, for changing the bedsheets every day without us asking. This thoughtful touch made all the difference, especially since my wife suffers from a dust allergy....

The Rimrock Hotel is situated on a cliff atop the town of Banff, Alberta with commanding views of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I recently enjoyed a four-night stay with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The property features rooms with mountain or forest views, a pool, gym, spa, three restaurants and a café, indoor parking, as well as a large lobby-bar area with a panoramic view. The rooms are modern and well designed, the staff is very kind and helpful (many Australians and British staff members), and the peace and tranquility of this beautiful setting are relaxing. The Banff hot spring is walking distance, while a public bus offers free rides (with ticket from the front desk) to and from the Banff village. The concierge is so helpful —- they recommended to wonderful hikes to Johnston Canyon and Marble Canyon, and the hotel provided complimentary hiking crampons and poles.

Beautiful hotel, older but well maintained, located a few miles from downtown Banff. The entire hotel was exquisitely decorated for the holidays particularly the lobby. And speaking of the lobby, its timeless elegance with beautiful wood paneled ceilings and walls plus a huge wood burning fireplace was a great place to relax.
The staff, especially Jordan and RJ at the concierge desk, were great and answered my million questions as well as arranging shuttle trips to the Banff Christmas market and the Banff Gondola. The room was large and comfortable and in good shape despite the age of the hotel. The view from our room was breathtaking, especially the sunrise on the snow covered mountain tops.
My only issue during our stay was the strange choice of music in the lobby. Saturday night the DJ played what could only be considered loud dance club music. Other nights the playlists were an odd mix that had no rhyme or reason. For such an elegant space, the music was very much out of place.

We absolutely loved our 4 night stay at the Rimrock and our only regret is that we didn't book for longer. The room was a decent size, well equipped, and the mountain view from the window was so beautiful. Our room was clean and in a good condition, a little dated but that wasn't an issue for us as we didn't expect ultra modern rooms.
We were using public transport during our stay so the bus stop being located directly outside the hotel was very useful for our trips down to the town. We dined at the hotel's Larkspur restaurant and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Everyone of the interactions we had with the staff were positive. A special mention to Subha and Bill in housekeeping, as well as the housekeeping manager Marie, who were all very helpful during our stay. We will definitely return for a stay sometime in the future, and take a trip on the nearby gondola, something we ran out of time to do.

Slightly out of Banff centre but view more than makes up for that as does the complimentary bus pass for travel down to/back from town centre.
Stunning valley views from our room and from the Larkspur restaurant/lobby area.
Prompt and attentive service in all areas.
Excellent service from Rhona & Lauren in Larkspur & Primrose.
Only one issue during stay and this was promptly dealt with.
Would have been good to try Divas but was closed every night for private functions.

Dirty, dirty, dirty. Don’t waste your money. Stay somewhere else or don’t go to Banff. Save up and go to the springs. Accor ( owns both) should be embarrassed. Booked for 4 nights left after one. Save your money. Why people put up with garbage hotels at that price is...

Your hotel took advantage of us and upsold us to another room, which we thought was replacing the original room charge and not an additional charge. Instead it was a huge upsell charge which we did not budget for but it was sold to us as they can give us this room for this price. It was never stated that the fee was in addition to the original room charge. The hotel is dilapidated and disgusting. The furniture is well used, carpet is stained and definitely not worth the price tag. The pictures online are not what the room furnishings look like in real life. The room furniture is old, worn down and not well kept. The food was subpar and the drinks were not good and overpriced. The only good thing about the hotel is the coffee bar, views and the valet. The place is a con and definitely not worth the price tag. I feel that I was scammed by your hotel and it’s a disgrace to the Accor hotel group. If you are going to spend the money you should stay at the fairmont banff springs. Don’t waste your time or money at the Rimrock.

Beautiful Hotel but be sure to ask lots of questions

Great pool, hot tub and gym....all of which are important to me.
They have a great shuttle to and from Banff. Unfortunately initially the concierge did not tell me about the shuttle. It was actually a staff member outside of the concierge that informed me about the shuttle. Would have preferred going into Banff for dinner than staying at the hotel, but initially the concierge made me understand that I would need to use a taxi. Rather frustrating.

My husband and I stayed 5 days. Service is five star including everyone from the housekeepers to the concierges, servers, front desk and valets. The bars and restaurants have good food and drinks and Eden is amazing. Make reservations in advanced. The views are beautiful, but our room looked out over the valet and it was a bit noisey. Also the rooms really are nothing special and there was a wet spot on our floor near the fridge. Also the TV was out one night, but when I called for both issues they handled them immediately. There was also a noise ALL night. It sounded like a pneumatic device going up and down and it really disturbed my sleep. My husband was t bothered by it, but it drove me crazy. So overall all: rooms just okay, but service far exceeded the service at the Fairmont in Lake Louise which was three times the price. Room service excellent too.

The Rimrock was a nice place to stay just outside the Banf Townsite…free bus tickets and shuttles made getting to town easy. We traveled with another couple, and both got deluxe balcony view king rooms…so they put us next to each other in the best two rooms as far as view goes…top floor in the middle, our room was 947.
Overall ambiance was nice, but we only stayed for one day. Had a drink and an appetizer in the bar…expensive but good. The upper Banff hot springs and the Banff Gondola are right across the street.

Rimrock Resort and Hotel is elegant, friendly, welcoming, and just stunning.
The staff is remarkable. Kind. Caring. Attentive.
The faculty is huge but manageable. Transportation options into Banff are excellent. And the gondola is a five-minute walk.
