This is a BEAUTIFUL hotel that delivers an excellent client experience with wonderful amenities situated in a perfect location when traveling to Ireland. The Muckross Park Hotel and Spa is a perfect spot to visit if you’re planning a trip to the Ring of Kerry and/or Killarney. The hotel is historic, beautiful and provided us with everything we could have asked for during our trip. Shad was outstanding in planning our drive around the Ring of Kerry and went out of his way to ensure we didn’t miss anything while we were in Killarney. Patrick was very helpful as well and we appreciated his eagerness to assist even though he was new to the property. If you’re traveling to Ireland make this a stop on your trip, you’ll be highly delighted!!

Disappointing Experience at Muckross Hotel and Spa – Not Worth the Price I recently stayed at Muckross Hotel and Spa in Killarney, expecting a true five-star experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. On arrival, the hotel was clean and welcoming, and the staff were attentive, particularly when taking our vegan dietary requirements into consideration. However, the positive first impression quickly faded once we checked into our room. Room Quality & Comfort The carpet had an iron burn stain, and the overall décor felt dated, including an old TV with no smart features. While the bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was disappointing—the bath handles were loose, and for a five-star hotel, it simply felt tired and in need of an update. A major issue was noise from adjoining rooms. The doors slammed loudly, disrupting our sleep, and we could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring room. This significantly impacted our ability to rest, and I would rate the sleep quality two stars—saved only by the comfortable bed. Spa & Facilities The spa treatments were expensive but worth the money, and the facilities were clean and above average. This was one of the few highlights of our stay. Dining Experience This was the biggest letdown. Given that the spa treatments were vegan-oriented, we expected a thoughtful vegan menu, but it was severely lacking. One of our meals consisted of a cabbage leaf, lentils, and curry sauce, which was underwhelming, to say the least. To make matters worse, our meal (including a £50 bottle of wine, two mains, and starters) cost an outrageous £180—and the taste certainly wasn’t fine dining. The staff were abrupt and unwelcoming, making us feel uncomfortable throughout the meal. We were so disappointed that we canceled our lunch and dinner reservations for the following day. Customer Service & Overall Value Upon checkout, we raised our concerns about the noise, room quality, and vegan options. The customer service representative was attentive, and we received an email within 12 hours offering an upgrade to a suite for our next stay. While this was appreciated, I have no desire to return. Final Verdict Yes, the location is great. Yes, it’s the only five-star hotel and spa in the area. But frankly, it is not worth the money. If you’re looking for luxury, comfort, and exceptional dining, look elsewhere. ⭐ Overall Rating: 2/5 (Comfortable bed and good spa facilities, but poor room quality, excessive noise, disappointing dining, and lack of value for money.)

Stunning hotel in a beautiful location. The room was perfect and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. The spa area was so relaxing and not overcrowded.The staff went over and above to mark my partner's birthday.Hope to return again soon.

Gorgeous room, amazing spa facilities and really good food! You can use the spa for free if you are staying in the hotel. There’s hot tubs, saunas, heated beds etc. This was a huge attraction for us to stay here. For this reason we will definitely stay here again!! The food in the monks lounge is gorgeous, very tasty and a great variety on the menu. The hotel breakfast is one of the nicest we ever had and we have stayed in plenty hotels in Ireland and abroad. The room was so comfortable and the bed was amazing. We had the most relaxing time.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and we couldn’t have been happier with everything! I booked a Junior Suite for his birthday, and the staff left a lovely birthday note in the room and delivered a bowl of fruit to the room, with a bottle of wine on arrival. From the second we arrived to the second we left, the staff were so so helpful and friendly. They have really catered the hotel to make everything as convenient as possible for you and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The suite itself was amazing, we were in awe when we got there. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the facilities in the room were endless. The sofa in the room was also extremely comfortable. The spa experience was so lovely, with a hidden staircase that brings you directly to the spa instead of going through the main entrance. We were so excited for our stay here and it didn’t disappoint in the slightest, even exceeding expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

Muckross Park Hotel never disappoints, it’s always such an amazing experience when we stay here, everything from the ambiance to the food are top quality and most importantly the staff go out of their way to make your stay an experience you will not forget.

They upgraded us to the most amazing suite, the staff welcomed us back with a bottle of Prosecco and could not do enough. Ate in the Monks Lounge and the meal was 10 out of 10. Cannot wait to go back top class would definitely recommend, fab surroundings and excellent staff👌

As soon as we arrived at Muckross, it was peaceful, clean and very welcoming. The facilities are excellent and the room, dining rooms and bar were spotless. We took advantage of bike hire whilst we were there which was very easy to arrange, and we loved its dramatic location in the national park, close to the hillsides. My wife and I were so grateful to all of the staff at Muckross. Everyone went above and beyond, and we were made to feel very special on our honeymoon. We are also grateful for the treats left in our room before we arrived, and the helpfulness of everyone. We are so sorry that we can only remember a few of the staff’s names (Agnieska and Chris), but everyone who we met was very friendly. The staff really are a credit to the hotel. Thank you so much, we’d love to visit again in the future.

The spa is not tb be missed. Large meandering indoor pool with several hot tubs, sauna and steam rooms. Full spa experience also available with ample accommodation.

We travel the world and stay in lots of 5 star hotels but you cannot beat this hotel and the kindness of ireland. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and we can’t wait to come back. It’s our new favourite in Killarney. Nothing was too much trouble; the early check in and the offer of breakfast a bit earlier due to us leaving early was much appreciated. Whatever the managers and staff are doing there ye are doing an amazing job, and well done. Thank you.

Muckross Hotel has 2 shower heads - one as an ordinary powerful head and the rainfall one - love them!
