What an incredible place with such wonderful service. M Kovic was a delight and the sweetest, organising our airport rides and giving great tips. The quality of the rooms was fantastic with lovely bathroom products. The bar is to die for. Will definitely return!

Absolutely fantastic hotel: fabulous location, excellent service, great breakfast and rooms are great and bedding is heavenly. So worth it!!! It's a must stay when in Vienna! We also had dinner there and again excellent service and food. Highly recommendable and definitely worth the price.

Fantastic location at historic property. Tram is nearby in 1min on foot. Highly antique interior made guest amused. But I didn't feel like I was welcoming when I checked in. Need to improve global service mind. Breakfast is a bit expensive but worthy it. Worthy to visit.

The service was truly outstanding—attentive, friendly, and always going above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. We loved the hotel's location, which offered easy access to Vienna’s charming Old Town. We wished we could have stayed more than one night, and it was the perfect choice for an unforgettable last night in Vienna.

This hotel was once the palatial home of a prince - abandoned by him because of the noise of municipal works. It retains many of the trappings of a princely home, but with all modern conveniences. I was in a suite so space was certainly not an issue. The bathroom in particular was large, but I felt that the shower could have been made a little larger. There is a bathtub as well. Breakfast has a fairly wide selection - including champagne! The main strength of this hotel, though is its staff - very friendly and helpful. Most of them speak excellent English. Vienna's historic centre is fairly small, so it is quite easy to walk to many of the museums, the Opera House, the shopping district and restaurants.

Lovely staff; very courteous and professional. Nice quiet rooms. And location could not be better, as it is walking distance to most major sights. Excellent breakfast and knowledgeable concierge service. Would definitely recommend a place to stay in Vienna.

A beautifully appointed hotel with excellent staff in the most convenient location for visiting the many attractions of this fine city . I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The five star reviews on Trip Advisor led me to book this hotel. That was a mistake as this hotel fell well below expectations. I agree with other reviewers, the building is grand and opulent. I agree that the concierge and front desk staff are efficient and helpful. That is, however, where Hotel Imperial’s five-star illusion ends. You can expect a few issues during a stay at any hotel. However, at this hotel, the list was so long (not enough space here to list them all) I was constantly asking myself if I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers. Stayed at the Imperial the week before Christmas, it was extremely busy and that may explain things. However, this was not the hotel’s first Xmas! The hotel, particularly food and beverage (F&B) couldn’t cope with the Xmas demand – it was that simple. Everything had to be booked in advance. You couldn’t come back from a Xmas market and slip into the bar for a drink – table had too pre-booked. Couldn’t come back from sightseeing and enjoy a coffee and Imperial cake at the Imperial Café – you had to have pre-booked a table. Everything had to be planned, spontaneity was not possible. On the one occasion we did score a table in the bar it took 30 minutes for a waiter to take our order, longer for drinks to arrive (only one barman mixing drinks for the entire, packed bar) and even longer to get the bill. People became so frustrated waiting to get their bills some resorted to standing and waving their hands to get attention of the waiter – not the look you expect in a five-star hotel. We did try and get into the Imperial Café – once. We stood at the door while two suited men – assume they were both the maître de – stood flapping around less than a metre from us. After being totally ignored for more than twenty minutes we gave up and went to the café across the road. I could go on listing the shortcomings experienced at this hotel. They ranged from minor (cracked cups in the room) to more serious, one drawing the attention of guest relations who made a half-hearted attempt at addressing the issue. Many staff looked disinterested and/or overwhelmed and were not to blame, the hotel was clearly understaffed for the holiday period. The issue with this hotel is poor management. In summary – on my visit to the Hotel Imperial it came across as, at best, a two or maybe three-star hotel attempting to masquerade as five-star and failing miserably. My best tip if you stay at the Hotel Imperial – avoid the pretentious attitude of the F&B staff and do yourself a favour, cross the road to Café Schwarzenberg for a warm welcome, efficient staff and good food at a reasonable price.

Honestly, I'd probably give this a 4.5 out of 5, but I rounded up to 5. Location wise, it's pretty good, but still maybe a 15-20 minute walk to the main tourist part of the city. On checkin, we got there at like 5 PM, and there was some sort of issue with our room being ready. It took the staff like 10 minutes to sort it out, and then we were given a very nice room. So all's well that ends well, but after a long travel day, it's not a good first impression for there to be a problem with getting into our room on time. Our room was very nice, and the hotel itself is opulent as you can see from the pictures. Breakfast was "ok". Service was a bit slow, and the food was pretty basic. The hotel was also very crowded at this time of year, so it felt like there were tour groups coming in and out. The hotel bar was charming, very beautiful space, and you could reserve. They also had a piano player, that was so nice. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night, and that was very nice also. The one quibble with the restaurant is they don't have many tables for 2, and some of them are like half-tables that are very cramped. All in all, I enjoyed staying here, but I might look around at other hotels next time.

Laurent Perrier bubbles on the buffet was amazing! Will stay here if I’m lucky enough to return to Vienna. This hotel sparkled and made you feel like a VIP guest. Everything was taken care of without having to ask for it.
