We had a lovely quiet week at Zoetry MB , the weather was perfect and the warm air a perfect break from our Canadian winter. We had done research before booking so understood this was a small boutique resort with limited restaurants and bars. Also that the beach was tiny and again limited for swimming and a small pool ; which we enjoyed everyday.
The food was average to good and bar service during the day could be great or none- we didn't mind having to get up to get a drink but they did run out of basic spirits from time to time. The evening lobby bar was usually busy with Barbara serving the drinks and providing great service and kindness to all who were there.
We found the service to improve greatly as our week continued - our butlers Adrian and Sheldon constantly checked on us always asking if they could do anything for you? Was everything Ok? Just nice people and friendly. In general we found the staff to be most welcoming and hard working ; shout out to Hakeem, Joshua , Teyan our dinner servers and Sandgrain for breakfast was always very sweet.
Overall , we had a good week ,relaxed and unplugged exactly what we wanted .
My husband really enjoyed the relaxed dress code ; not having to wear long pants to dinner and flip flops all week long were a huge plus for him. He also enjoyed the snorkelling on the complimentary tours and off the dock ; we last minute joined the "sip and paint" activity with Jules and actually found it delightful and fun.
Thank you Zoetry team for a great week.

Arrived Feb 22 and left today, March 1st. I have worked in the travel industry for 30 years, therefore very well traveled. The Zoetry Montego Bay has surpassed any resort I have ever been to. The staff cannot do enough to please you. The food was amazing, different menu each night from Carribean night to Steakhouse night, all an incredible experience. I had done my research before going, so was well aware of issues previously mentioned such as small beach. My opinion is great things come in small packages and this beach is exactly that. Beautiful breeze, incredible scenery, lots of shade. The daily complementary activities were not only a nice break from the sun, but you get to make your own souvenirs while chatting with local vendors. I recommend this resort to people looking to unwind and let yourself get pampered

Review of Zoëtry Montego Bay Jamaica
Zoëtry Montego Bay Jamaica is a small boutique resort that promises an ultra-luxurious experience in a peaceful, tranquil setting. While there were aspects of our stay that we enjoyed, such as the clean and spacious rooms and the laid-back atmosphere, the overall experience left much to be desired and unfortunately did not live up to the expectations we had for our vacation.
Here’s a breakdown of our experience:
1. Room Comfort: The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, but the pillows were a major disappointment. They were lumpy and uncomfortable, leaving us with neck pain and headaches each morning. This small but crucial detail significantly affected our comfort.
2. Beach Experience: The “beach” was not what we expected. It’s more of a small cove with lagoon-like water, but it lacked the charm of a true seaside experience with waves. The patches of seaweed in the water and on the sand made it less inviting and left us longing for the traditional beach ambiance we had hoped for.
3. Service Quality: This was one of the most disappointing aspects of our stay. The service was far from the bespoke, attentive experience we expected from a luxury resort. Room service consistently took 1.5 hours or more to arrive, and meals at the restaurant often required long waits of up to 2 hours. Customizing food orders was nearly impossible, as staff frequently got details wrong or overlooked requests altogether. To make matters worse, the butler service—touted as a premium feature—was practically nonexistent after check-in.
4. Dining Options: The food was decent but extremely limited, particularly for breakfast and lunch. For a longer stay, the lack of variety became monotonous, with the same limited choices for breakfast and lunch every day.
5. Bar Service: The bar experience was underwhelming. On multiple occasions, beer was either out of stock or not chilled, and basic cocktail ingredients like lime and mint were unavailable. For a resort claiming luxury, these oversights were frustrating and impacted our overall enjoyment.
6. Entertainment: While we appreciated the tranquil vibe of the resort, the evening entertainment could have been better. There were a few performances—a pianist at 10 pm and a violinist or guitarist on 2-3 evenings—but these were brief, lasting only about an hour. It would have been wonderful to have extended performances or more variety to add a touch of vibrancy to the evenings.
Unfortunately, we also noticed murmurs from other guests about the inconsistent service, with some suggesting that better service was contingent on tipping generously in advance. This practice felt uncomfortable and diminished the welcoming atmosphere we were expecting.
In the end, while the peaceful setting and spacious rooms were highlights, the lackluster service, dining limitations, and other shortcomings lowered the quality of our vacation experience. Zoëtry Montego Bay Jamaica has potential but needs significant improvements to truly deliver the ultra-luxurious, personalized experience it promises.

This was the most horrid vacation spot I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. No food options and extremely limited menu, smells that make you sick to you stomach, ill-kept pool, a fish pond that’s a death pit, an overrun of bugs in the room, old lettuce, rationed condiments and foods, cheapest spirits and wines ever (that too is limited), a view that includes a trash heap of property next door and obscure view of the ocean, just plain ole tired and dead, and not worth $200.00 a night let alone the $1k/per night we paid, just awful!!!

Everything. This resort greatly cheapens the Zoetry brand. We frequent Hyatt/Secrets/Zoetry almost exclusively for our vacations. After this trip, we’re greatly reconsidering our loyalty to the brand.
Beginning with arrival, check in was late. We were told the room would be ready in about an hour, which would have been a little before 3 PM. At 3:30 we received a text from the “butler” telling us the room was ready and meet him at the lobby. He wasn’t there. Other staff said he would be coming. We waited another 20 minutes for him to come escort us to the room. Up two flights of stairs we dragged our luggage, no elevators here. The room was clean enough, but nothing special. No dresser to store clothing, no Zoetry beach bag, no beach towels.
We headed to the pool/beach area but there were no towels available. They said there would probably not be towels until the next day. The pool was very small and cold, we’d expect it to be heated as that is a standard at luxury all inclusives. The staff was already removing the cushions for the beach chairs so we didn’t really get an opportunity to hang out at the beach our first day.
We went for a drink at the pool bar but had to wait 15 minutes for a staff member to arrive. We would find this to be the “norm” here. We decided on lunch at the pool area restaurant. Service was slow but friendly, until we had to witness the staff beating a cat. As animal lovers this really put a damper on our mood.
We went to the only open restaurant for dinner. The “vegetarian option” was a pile of hard black beans and random cut up vegetables. We also ordered the lamb, it arrived cold. Literally cold, as if it had been taken from the fridge and tossed on a plate. We ordered cake for dessert but it never came.
Back in the room, we attempted to shower. There was no hot water at all. We called the desk, they said there was a problem getting repaired and there was nothing we could do but wait. We had cold showers for our luxury vacation.
Breakfast is our favorite vacation meal so we were excited the next morning. There was a table with champagne and juice for self serve mimosas, but no glasses available. We ordered coffee with cream, but had no spoons to stir. (There were no spoons for any breakfast during the trip) I asked if the breakfast burrito could be made with no meat, if not I would order something else. They said no problem, burrito with no meat. Service was exceptionally slow and we were very excited to eat when the food finally came. It came out filled with chicken. We had to flag down a staff member and reorder, adding another 45 minutes to this breakfast experience.
When heading to the beach that day, again no towels available. When asked an estimated time frame, the staff member shrugged and said laundry.
We attempted the pool bar again when they opened at 10. At 10:15 someone arrived and was very visibly upset by the bar. He was frantically washing dishes, getting ice, filling the machines before he could start taking orders. It was 10:45 before we were able to get a drink.
We tried room service for dinner that night based on our first nights’ experience. They gave an estimated timeframe of 45 minutes. The food came after 90 minutes, and the order was incorrect. The pizza had no toppings, the nachos had only cheese, the dessert simply didn’t come.
The next day, shower was still ice cold. Breakfast was still very slow, no spoons, missing menu items. Bar service exceptionally slow. Attempted room service again. After two hours with no arrival, we called the desk. They said it was on the way. After another 20 minutes, we texted the butler. He said the food had come already. We found out it was sent to the wrong room, the desk said our phone number didn’t match our room number? After three hours it eventually came.
That night around 3 AM, we were awakened to a very loud banging sound outside the room. The hot water tank in the hallway was breaking and sounded ready to explode. We were up for the next few hours as staff banged and worked on the tank.
The next morning, water was leaking through the ceiling onto the lobby floor. Some towels and a caution sign were thrown down but huge puddles were accumulating.
As frequenters of all inclusives, we have a level of expectation for the hotel and service.
Between the outdated buildings, no elevators, broken hot water, water pouring from the ceiling, absolutely no pool or beach service, hunting down staff members for bar service, witnessing animal abuse, incorrect food orders, laughable room service, cold pool, lack of towels…. this is an atrocity. We spend a lot of money to enjoy ourselves on vacation but this “resort” really makes it difficult. It feels like a budget hotel that was renamed Zoetry. This was such a huge disappointment I can’t even put it into words. We looked forward to this trip for a long time and it was just so depressing. We spent more time looking for staff than we did enjoying ourselves. We’ve stayed at budget all inclusives for a quarter of this price and had better service. This is shameful.

Writing this review is my last resort, but given the lack of responsiveness of management, I feel it is necessary.
Pros: close to airport, pretty property and friendly staff and very quiet, restful.
The rest: the food is poor; they are forever out of things, even items grown on the island such as bananas (5 of 7 days out), coffee beans, Ackee (entire time). Other items often out even though offered on menu feta cheese, yogurt, pasta. Jerky Jo’s good, so long as you want chicken every day, supposed to have pork “tomorrow “, but tomorrow never comes.
The property is small but still never a person to serve drinks at the pool, beach or elsewhere. One person can easily serve the entire property but not once in 8 days except after we said something to a manager someone came over, I asked for a bottle of water and she never came back with it. It was 100% self serve. It’s no big deal to walk to a bar but that’s not what you expect when you go to a high end resort.
At times there’s no one even at the bar to serve you.
Entertainment at dinner: dinner is from 6-9; most nights they have live music for 1 hour (7-8). When we asked why, it’s because the performer has other obligations- suggests poor planning by management, waiting until the last minute.
We spoke to several people in management- General Manager David, afternoon manager Zephennia (spelling??) and Latisha (day manager). Not one offered to do a thing. Latisha was the last person I spoke to, she asked that I not reach out to corporate as they would send it back to the resort to resolve and to give her a chance, that she would call me this afternoon to resolve it (points). Needless to say, she has not called which is why the review. Her not calling is the epitome of the attitude of management- they don’t care. They don’t follow through.
As we’re allowed to eat at the other Hyatt properties, we wanted to go 1 night since the food was so poor- they wouldn’t even provide complimentary transportation for the 15 minute ride- rather we’d have to take a taxi for $100 ( yes, $100, not a typo).
I suggested that they take a survey of the people there from last Saturday to Thursday and I assure them that 9 out 10 (probably 10 out of 10) would not return. It is extremely underwhelming and a huge disappointment. This is supposed to be the high end of Hyatt - it’s anything but high end.
As far as being a wellness resort- there’s nothing about it that suggests or promotes wellness.
This is supposed to Hyatt’s high end properties- it is anything but.

Where should I start? Well, if you read the negative reviews herein, I would encourage you to know that each review is a very kind representation of the actual truth on all accounts. Stated, differently, the Hotel buttresses a trash heap, it smells like rotten fish and sewage, it lacks any activities paid or otherwise, its "all-inclusive" would better be described as an "all-exclusive," its wine and spirits are truly ghost or nonexistent, the staff is slackadaisical but for a few who you heart will go out to, and what food they do have is cold, stale, overcooked, or otherwise plain ole trash. At check-in, they debit the full amount of your stay with a question of whether "you know that you have enough money to cover this"
I have travelled all over the world and this was the absolute worst "five star" $1,000/night location that I have ever had the displeasure of staying on a vacation. Oh, I have I mentioned the dated pools, near dead goldfish pool, limit on beach towels, lack of music or atmosphere, dismal shop, invasion of crawling and flying bugs in bedroom - we had bites everywhere, and jerk & hot sauce rations? Just deplorable in every way possible. NO exaggeration!
3rd time in Jamaica, all three deplorable experiences, and never ever will I step foot on this island again...totally not worth it...!

I have been leaving reviews on Tripadvisor a long time and I have never had to leave a really bad review before so this is not easy. For reasons I cannot understand this visit to this hotel was just not at all as expected at the price point. We did only spend one night, we were there about 30 hours altogether. Maybe because it was low season (Easter weekend though?) but they were out of many things on the menus, things just never showed up (like our room service order), no bellman when we arrived to help with bags, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, our front door looked like it had been hacked by a crow bar or something. The people were lovely and honestly did what they could but if the hotel is looking to save money by not stocking things then perhaps that should show up in the price point? Anyway I would not go back to this place with so much choice in Montego Bay and doubt I would try any of their other properties either unfortunately.

Front desk staff were polite and efficient. They showed us around the site and
made us comfortable. Our luggage was taken care of. The room was perfect. We
were impressed by its size and the modern installations.
The hotel common areas were clean. The chairs at the beach were very
comfortable what with the thick mattresses, some of which, however, were in dire
need of cleaning (ugly stains). The beach and the pool were well maintained,
except for the Eastern end of the beach where it seems all the flotsam and debris
were accumulated with no apparent hint of it ever being disposed of.
Every day, a workman was busy with a motor-powered blower, apparently
flushing leaves off the small lawn areas and the pathways. Because of the
constant Easterly winds, theses leaves and debris were almost immediately re-
blown back where they had been. The noise from the airblower was noted to be
between 85 and 100 dBs (I have a noise measurement app on my iPhone) which
is very annoying, to be polite.
Room cleaning. We found the staff to be efficient and timely. Except for one
evening lady who came two days in a row at 1815hrs to do the bed turning over.
We hadn’t even left for supper. When we asked her to come back later, she was
adamant that it was now or never. We asked her to leave. The other evenings,
however, apart from this lady at whose service we seemed to be, the turning in
service was discrete and efficient. The room cleaning staff, as seemed the case
with many other staff, was not very prepared for unusual requests. When told
about a burned out light bulb in one of our lamps, she didn’t seem to know what
to do. I unscrewed said bulb and placed it on my night table where it remained for
a week. It was still there when we left.
One day, the maintenance staff did some work on the AC unit, after which
copious amounts of dark stained debris spewed out from our unit for a few hours,
all over the floor and some furniture. When we pointed this out to the front desk,
they said they’d take care of it. Nothing came of said promise. It was only when
we corralled the night cleaning lady and she swept the floor that the debris was
taken away, hours later. Nobody, however cleaned the furniture. We just swept it
off onto the floor and pushed it under the bed. When we left, ten days later, it was
still there.
Now for your biggest problem: the eating facilities.
We realize that there were important issues with said facilities and witnessed the
constant efforts by management to improve. This improvement was much
needed.
When we arrived, the evening (dinner) staff was in dire need of training, both on
the floor and in the kitchen. Bland food with not much resemblance to what was
written in the menu seemed to be our unfortunate lot. A few days after we
arrived, however there was a sudden and marked change in the quality and
preparation of the food. Seemingly, a new chef had arrived. At this point, our
experience was entirely positive. Much appreciated were the daily menu
changes. The food was tasty and plentiful.
If any suggestions : more seafood would have been appreciated, especially for
an island country and especially for a five star rated hotel.
The floor staff. A disaster. The main impression was that said staff was sullen
and some, even surly. They looked as if the guests were bothering them in their
chat sessions held in the kitchen, sessions which could clearly be heard from the
dining area. Two exceptions were a young man named Tariq and a young woman
named Kanisha (sorry for the spelling) which proved that it could be done :
prompt, efficient service personalized and without half-hour waiting times
between dishes.
How do we know that the others were inefficient and that, contrary to what they
said, it wasn’t the kitchen that was at fault for their tardiness? When the others
brought us our food, it was cold, a sign that it had in fact been prepared in a
timely way and that it was the waiting staff that was either lazy or inefficient. One
evening, we even witnessed the manager loudly berating a server. This was, in
our opinion, quite well deserved as she was one of the most delinquent lazers
and chatters. Perhaps, however, the berating would have been better served in
private.
Mind you, this state of affairs was observed in a dining area rarely even half full.
How they will manage when the place is packed is anyone’s guess.
This state of affairs was much, much worse in the morning. Sullen, sultry, even
hostile looks were our daily breakfast welcoming. Some of the staff even throwing
menus as a sign of their dissatisfaction. This was not just us having a problem.
Similar behaviour was observed with other guests. Others couldn’t be counted on
to bring what we ordered. Even when it was as few as three items, often only two
appeared. And cold at that. Breakfasts were definitely not a pleasurable
experience. Our worst morning, we timed it. Sat down at 0900hrs. Water and
orange juice served at 0915hrs. Order taken at that time. Order arrived
incomplete and cold at 0950, a full 35 minutes of waiting while they chatted away
in the kitchen.
The café by the pool. If breakfasts were a disaster, this was horror. We went
twice, the second time to give them a chance. Staff uninterested in the guests,
food undercooked or raw. They even managed to serve us soggy toasted bread.
The only enjoyable place to eat was the jerky shack where the lady was nice and
the food excellent.
One valuable asset you have is the evening bar staff. Both Barbara, and her off-
day replacement Curtis were professional and very efficient and always in a great
mood.
After we arrived, we learned that the place was under new management by
Hyatt. We saw the place improving daily, but you still have a very long way to go
before you can call this a five star resort.
In conclusion, we think the price we were charged did not merit the so-so or bad
service we experienced. We are left wondering what effect such a bad review as
this one would have on your business if posted on Trip Adviser or any other
travel medium. If we are asked if we recommend the resort, our answer would be
a resounding “no.”
Hope this helps.

A few cons is that I ordered room service twice and the food never showed up. And the food is average.

I am so torn in regard to this hotel. Firstly the areas that need improvement:
1. The noise from the airport is an issue, there are several flights leaving on a daily basis but in my opinion, and hotel along that stretch is going to have the same issue as the coastline is on the flight path. You do get used to if after a couple of days.
2. The noise from the road is ridiculous. It is constant, all the way through the night and day and it is intrusive. Our room was in the main building (rooms starting with a 1) and if you are put there I would ask to be moved. We said not to bother, but on reflection, that was the wrong decision.
3. The service is so varied. There are grumpy staff who make you feel as though they are bothering you, there are staff that do not turn up on time (mainly the coffee shop) so you are waiting around for others to come and serve the coffee. The longest I waited was an hour, which is far too long and quite annoying. Drinks around the pool were few and far between. However some of the staff are fabulous and there is nothing they will not do for you. Kimberley in the main reception is the person you want to ask for. What a wonderful employee, she gets 5 star service and hospitality and was an absolute delight.
4. Housekeeping - Very sporadic, do not get excited about the snacks in the room, granola bars and banana chips and that is all, turn down service is every now and then and we had to ask twice for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel to be filled up. The glass doors to the terrace were not cleaned once whilst we were there.
5. The food is again, up and down. Some meals were lovely and others were not great. That is not to say we did not eat enough, but everything is off a menu and there is really only one restaurant that is open every night for you to use.
6. Butler Service - we waited 2 days to meet our butler and that was only when we asked who they were. We did not use the service very much until the last couple of days.
7. Food availability, I would say not for one meal did we sit down and the whole menu was available. There was always something missing and I would say, get your orders in for strawberry daiquiris early as they tended to run out of the mix.
8. Not really the hotels fault but the constant offerings of drugs from men in canoes who come up to you by sea was uncomfortable and quite annoying.
The good points -
1. As I said, Kimberley was fantastic as are some of the other staff.
2. It is wonderfully quiet. There is not much to do but if you want relaxing and quiet then this is the holiday for you.
3. The hotels size - It is small and really good for those who are a little older as everything is in easy walking distance.
4. The Manager - David - is constantly walking around and checking, asking if you are having a good time. The staff do tend to jump when he is about, ultimately that service should be available all of the time, however I could see where he wants his hotel to be, but they have a little way to go to achieve what I would class as a 5 star hotel.
5. The rooms are lovely, spacious and in the main clean. The pillows need to be a little better but this is a small thing.
6. We had a late flight out and yet we were offered to keep our room until 4pm when we left. There was no charge and it meant we actually had another fairly full day of our holiday. I have never been offered this for free before and I think it is a really good thing to offer the people who have late flights.
7. The gentlemen looking after the beach, were great. They worked tirelessly to keep it neat and clean and were very friendly. It is a small beach but enough for what any one person would need. They rake it every morning. very impressed with them.
8. The sun loungers are comfortable and sturdy and there is no rush to get up and get a sun bed as there were plenty there every day.
9. THE BREAKFAST - Wow - you have to try the rum toast. It is beyond amazing and with bacon, sausage and hash browns, it is a wonderful start to the day. One of the best breakfasts I have had in any hotel.
All in all we had a great time but there were certain things that let the hotel down. The things we were promised by Virgin on line were not available but that did not deter us from having a lovely relaxing break.
