Zemi Beach House

One of the very finest hotels I have ever stayed in. It is a gorgeous, shimmering resort in Anguilla, an island that is poised to become the next hotspot in the Caribbean. The rooms and suites are well appointed, with a combination of touches that feel like home dipped in luxury. The centerpiece of Zemi is the Zemi Thai House, a 300-year-old Asian-inspired building that serves as the holistic spa. Lena was my therapist and she delivered an invigorating facial and relaxing massage. You should seek out Lena when you go to Zemi. There are hammams to lounge in, a vitality pool and a cozy juice bar. A true spiritual experience. The on-site restaurant served remarkable food. If you’re there on a Wednesday night, make sure you go to Caribbean Night. It’s a sumptuous barbecue buffet with effervescent music. Zemi is right on the beach and it is one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. White sand, blue water, and no seaweed. This is my fifth Caribbean trip in seven years and the beach at Zemi is the best I’ve been to. Zemi Beach House is the best hotel in the Caribbean. Kudos to the warm, friendly and familial staff. They never hesitated to offer a nice greeting, ask you if you needed anything, or suggest ways to make your stay better. I wish I could’ve been at Zemi even longer than the week we were there. I want to come back.

After a wonderful visit last year, we returned to the Zemi and it was another smashing success. As we were contemplating what made the experience so special for us, two things stood out. First, the staff really does a terrific job. Without fail, they are very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It is five-star treatment but without feeling like you are being fawned over or like you are bothering anybody if you need something. It feels like the employees appreciate that you are visiting and want you to have a good experience. (And to specifically refute one of the comments I saw on here, I did not observe any departure from this standard of service for anyone at any time - though yes, when we rolled out of bed late we did not get the most primo beach seating, though it was still great and we still got great service and still tipped.) The other thing that really stood out is the serene, laid back atmosphere. Even when at capacity at a peak time of year, it did not feel crowded at all. There were a few more kids around this year but they were generally well behaved and a super quiet, adults-only experience was always available at the upper pool if desired. One other thing that really struck us was that although we were not in Anguilla for a gourmet food experience, dining is really handled well. The breakfast is superb - our favorite part was the daily smorgasbord of fresh roasted vegetables. Also, the little things are done right. Like when you ask for no mayo or dressing on the side, there is no mayo and the dressing is on the side. And, while it is not an inexpensive hamburger, it is hot and fresh and tasty as are the quality fries that come with. There was never a sense of disappointment or unmet expectations that can easily happen at this type of property. There are myriad additional positives to report, which contributed to our overall view that the Zemi is an absolute first class spot: - really the most beautiful beach I can imagine; - a terrific gym, with everything in working order, plus a lap pool; - as with last year, complimentary and plentiful sunblock and water (they were even passing out French mineral water at times which I'II confess did feel very luxe 😁) - plus flip flops and a beach bag in the room; - beautifully maintained grounds; - prompt customer service via the Hilton app when needed. We were one again able to use points which is no small thing (though the standard redemption rates seem to be going up in the future as is happening throughout the Hilton portfolio). We were not upgraded to an "ocean view" room this year as the resort was apparently at or near capacity, but did not have any of the issues other reviewers have cited. The room was quiet, private, and extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of ocean to see - we were just on a lower floor so it was not quite as sweeping a view. This did not negatively impact our stay at all as I feared it might. Many thanks again to everyone at the Zemi - we had another wonderful stay and will hope to be back!

We came to Zemi for spring break knowing nothing about Anguilla. The week was one delightful surprise after the next. And while at first Zemi seemed small and removed from other places or activity on the island, both ended up being characteristics about Zemi that we loved the most. Wonderful service and staff, wonderful drinks and food, beautiful 180 degree views of the beach with no obstruction (many beaches on Anguilla look at St Maarten in the distance). We had plans to leave the property nearly each night initially but ended up changing our mind to stay there. The drive into the more populated areas is 20-30 minutes and we felt the views and the food were tops right where we already were! There’s not as much to do for kids as perhaps the Aurora or Four Seasons but our kids and we saw plenty of others having a great time in the pool, on the beach and playing tennis. The Zemi spa is also fantastic and a must do. Really.

We had one of our favorite trips at Zemi Beach. Everything from beginning to end was perfection. Our trip started with a flight delay so we had to change and fly to St Marteen instead of Anguilla. In the chaos of changing flights, I emailed Zemi Beach and they took care of scheduling our boat transfers and shuttles to the hotel. We also booked a private boat outing thru Zemi that I would highly recommend. We were sitting next to a couple at the pool our last day, discussing how we could not find one negative thing to say about Zemi Beach. I have alpha gal and every morning at breakfast, and any meal on property, the staff made sure what I was eating followed my dietary restrictions. We cannot wait to visit again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Beautiful Resort, Incredible Beach Setup We are currently staying at Zemi Beach Resort, and overall this property absolutely deserves 5 out of 5 stars. The location is stunning — a beautiful, clean beach with crystal-clear water and soft sand. Everything feels spotless and very well maintained. Cleanliness is definitely a 5/5. My biggest highlights of the resort: • Beautiful, clean beach • Breakfast literally on the beach — such an incredible way to start the day • Beach chairs always available (no stress, no early chair-saving) • Complimentary cabanas and full beach beds — a HUGE plus since many resorts charge extra This is a big advantage. At many resorts you pay extra for cabanas or daybeds, but here they’re included. That adds so much value to the stay. The beach attendants were exceptional. Towels were always available, complimentary cold water was brought in ice bags, and they checked on us every 10–15 minutes. When I asked for an extra umbrella, it was set up within five minutes. I truly cannot complain about the beach service at all — 5 out of 5. We also enjoyed the sushi restaurant and the outdoor breakfast buffet setting — both beautiful experiences. The only area that could improve is the restaurant and bar service speed. During sunset cocktail hour on the beach, it took about 15 minutes to receive drinks, and we had to wave several times to get attention. At times, the bartender stepped away for a break and no one was immediately available to substitute. At the sushi restaurant, service could be excellent and attentive — and other times it felt slower and less consistent. Drinks sometimes took slightly longer to receive. That said, this did not ruin our experience. Would we come back? Absolutely, yes. As a Hilton Diamond member who has stayed at many Hilton resorts, I’m definitely putting this one in my Top 10 favorite resorts to return to. Beautiful property, amazing beach team, great value with complimentary cabanas and beds — and overall a truly relaxing island experience.

Zemi Beach House in Anguilla was truly one of the most amazing hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The location on Shoal Bay is absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked through the front door, the staff made us feel special and genuinely welcomed. Every single team member — from the bell staff and reception to housekeeping, wait staff, managers, spa staff, and even the cab driver who took us back to the ferry — made us feel like we were the only guests there. The food, the property, and the rooms were all outstanding. We can’t wait to return next year!

Our experience at Zemi Beach House was truly exceptional from the moment we arrived. The location on Shoal Bay is simply stunning, with pristine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. The property is beautifully maintained and offers an elegant yet relaxed Caribbean atmosphere. The suites are spacious, modern, and very comfortable. Every detail reflects quality and thoughtful design. The beachfront setting makes it perfect for a peaceful and memorable getaway. My wife Tracy and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on Anguilla at Zemi Beach House and had a wonderful experience. The people, the food, the atmosphere- all were tremendous and have us wanting to return. Charisma was a wonderful host as we checked in and gave us a tour of the property. We stayed in two different rooms, both with unique features and charm. We literally never left the property- except to walk on the beach! We met so many fantastic and friendly staff- Tiffany, Stacey, Shameka, Jehiel to name just a few. The food at Zemi was superb from breakfast at 20 knots to the Caribbean BBQ on the beach- and the Anguillan Fish Stew was my favorite. Thank you for helping us celebrate, we definitley plan to be back!

Overall a great stay, with friendly staff in a beautiful setting. The rooms were spacious which I appreciated for our family of 4. Few issues: - breakfast was nice and fresh, but a station/table with traditional Caribbean fare would have been a nice touch - the service at the main pool was lacking/nonexistent. I had to wave down a staff member or have my child go get their attention to order food or set up our chairs. More attentive staff would have been appreciated, but not a big issue for us. It’s not a huge pool area but was big enough for families with kids. I also liked how Cabanas were no charge first come first served - when we dined at 20 knots for dinner, staff asked us for still or sparkling water, we picked still, not knowing if we could have just gotten tap. But we were charged $8 a bottle which I was not happy with after two bottles, especially given that there’s plenty of bottled water around the resort for guests. - cleaning service was great, but they came in the morning one time and then after we went to the pool/beach we brought back in a lot of sand to the room the rest of the day - lastly kids club was a nice feature, but the two staff members were really not engaging with kids at all. My husband or I stayed with the kids since most of the craft activities were short. But it just felt like they weren’t sent up or as welcoming when we’d come in and say “ we’re here for xx art activity” as if I was asking for some Herculean task. Overall Anguilla is beautiful and not as commercialized (at least not yet), plus the hotel had a more boutique feel which was nice. I may visit Anguilla again, but likely wouldnt come back to the same resort.

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience at Zemi. We stayed for 10 nights and everything and everyone we encountered exceeded our expectations. There was great communication from the resort before we arrived, and we were greeted by a hotel rep. who helped get a taxi for us. Arrival at the hotel reminded me of Fantasy Island - we were welcomed with drinks and then given a golf cart tour of the property. As a Diamond member, we were upgraded to an ocean view room. I was not expecting to be upgraded because of the length of our stay. The room and the amenities were spectacular. Because of the small number of rooms, you did not have to get to the pool/beach early to reserve a prime spot.. I loved the fact that you were not nickel and dimed to reserve a cabana or shaded location. In addition, free sunscreen (SPF50) was available for everyone to use, and everyday an ice bag with bottled water was delivered to your location. Food/Gym/Spa experiences were all top notch. 2 tings to be aware of: there are no ATM's readily available, so remember to bring plenty of cash for the taxi/tipping. If you'd like, you can place gratuities on your account and pay with your credit card; however, remember to place them on your account PRIOR to checking out. Also, while it was not a problem, I did receive a few mosquito bites but never saw any mosquitos. They did have insecticide available, but I prefer not to put those chemicals on my body. Had i remembered, I would have brought some natural mosquito repellant with me. Finally, the staff was amazing! Thank you to: Jovecia, Jehiel, Tiffany,, Yennifer, Shameka, Hector, Janelle, Uniqua, Eulalia, Patrick, Brenique, Deanna (and everyone I may have left out)! They all were the kindest people we have ever met, and they were the reason why our stay was exceptional. We can't wait to return!!!!!

My stay was nothing short of outstanding! This is our fifth trip to this property, and there are many reasons why we keep coming back. The staff is outstanding here; each and every staff member greets you warmly and looks directly into your eyes. The service is outstanding, best on the island, and I have stayed at some of the island's other five-star resorts. We constantly interact with management here, and they stay on top of everything and pitch in to make sure every detail is taken care of. We got back last week, and I wanted to take time to write a detailed review. We checked in to a warm reception and were told that all the rooms in our booking category were fully booked. What followed was nothing short of living out a dream! We were given an upgrade to a penthouse with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, a rooftop pool, a huge living room with vaulted ceilings, and incredible views! The staff had no idea, but I lost my mom two weeks prior to this trip. This upgrade was an incredible gift to me, helping me recharge and lift my spirits. Thank you, Paola, the General Manager; Raquel, the room manager; the girls at the front desk; Vernesha; and the crew. This hotel has approximately 86 rooms, and the views and beach are gorgeous. The staff is second to none. We loved our restaurant staff, including Stacey, Mavis, and the rest. Whitney, our girl on the omlet station, was a perfect way to start the day. The pool and beach staff, especially Hector, Uniqua, Michael, Anthony, and the rest of the staff, took incredible care of us each day. We dined at Stones, 20 knots, and also attended the lobster BBQ. The $85 cost was incredible, and we loved the many options, including all the homemade salads and desserts. Entertainment is always outstanding. Anguilla has eliminated the additional 15 percent GST on food, a welcome change. Spa: I had an amazing 80-minute spa treatment with Petal. It is well worth the splurge. She was incredible, and I walked out feeling renewed. All the staff at the spa do a tremendous job. My only hiccup was not being greeted at the Ferry port. Small detail, we took an available taxi and were on the property quickly. The hotel will make booking arrangements for you ahead of time. I highly recommend Fun Times; we had a bad experience with the staff at Calypso last year. Captain Alan, you rock. We went off property to a few restaurants we love, including Blanchard's, Straw Hat, Veya, Sharky's, and Tasty's. We even got to go to the Blanchard's Beach Shack for lunch this trip. We liked them all! I am confused reading a negative comment here; it has definitely been five trips here, and there have never been any issues. I do appreciate having a sense of security, and I may be questioned about my room number. A few mornings, we were asked for our room number and then down by the beach as well. It's not about being sensitive; it's about being safe and ensuring that those staying at the resort don't have to worry about anyone who doesn't belong at the hotel engaging in criminal activity or taking prime-view chairs. Ask me anytime for my room number and my name! I have happy to answer. Thanks again, Zemi, for my annual trip. We have already booked next year and are counting the days until we return.

My new favorite place on Earth. A wonderful resort with the best employees of any place I’ve ever stayed and the greenest water I’ve ever seen. It’s great to be able to snorkel right off the beach - I’ve seen some comments from people about the water being rough sometimes and that was our case, since the north facing each was impacted by the fish weekend ice/snow storms causing swells which reacted with the reef. We walked down to the edge of the reef and the water was calmer. The pool is great, the food is great, the evening music is great. it’s just great all around and I have not even a minor gripe. My wife did take advantage of the spa and had raving reviews. We even had a bonus night when our flight out was cancelled! We are already planning our return.

We absolutely loved our story at the Zemi House. We took full advantage of many opportunities available to us. We ate at all three of the restaurants, enjoyed the nightly, live music, took yoga classes, and enjoyed the spectacular beach (and pool) in front of the property. The stay exceeded all expectations! We really enjoyed all three restaurants. Their fine dining experience, Stone, was exceptional. We had the Châteaubriand, and it was as good as I have had anywhere in the Caribbean, the United States, or elsewhere. The wine list was great, and the wines were very reasonably priced for a resort. One of the unexpected wonderful things about this resort was that they had live music every night in the open air lounge. Every night it was someone different and every night they were fantastic. Their spa was beautiful, and the yoga classes there are very well done. They have every Tuesday and Thursday morning. We did not get a chance to have a massage, but heard wonderful things from the people who did. We were fortunate enough to meet the general manager, Paulo, during our stay. He has been there for 10 years, and he is is clearly a strong, steady hand leading this effort. The staff was all very well trained, and very service oriented. The room was also great. It was spacious, well appointed, and featured a lovely view in the ocean. But the property itself was so lovely that we spent very little time there! Shoal Bay was also great. It was a long beach, more than one mile long, with great little local restaurants, and bars throughout. We tried several the restaurants, and they were fine, but the best food we had was at the resort. We could not have had a better experience. Thank you so much for the hospitality… We will be back!

Really nice stay at Zemi beach in their 2 bedroom suite. We were a family of 5 adults and found the suite spacious and well appointed. The staff at Zemi is lovely. Very friendly and they remember your name. My only negative comment would be that the average age of fellow guests was a bit on the older side. And the gym could use updating as it had no working AC . Lunch at the beach restaurant was surprisingly delicious! A suggestion for fellow travelers going or coming from St Maarten- use Funtime ferry! They were fast, on time and it was a much more pleasant ride. We took the ferry from Marigot to Anguilla on our way to the island and it was a scary ride. And we waiting in line approx 40 mins to clear passport control in Anguilla.

We loved this resort! We booked a trip knowing that all we wanted to do was hang out at the resort and lay on the beach. No cars, no tours, no sightseeing. The resort exceeded our expectations when it came to peace, relaxation, and tranquility. The resort arranged to pick us up at the airport (beware of the individuals that want to help you out of the airport with your luggage – they will cart it out a very short distance and expect to be paid so have cash!), and offered us a wonderful cocktail while we checked in. Staff with golf carts will take you and your luggage to your building where a fantastic, upscale, beachy vibe room awaits you. We had a room on the second floor that directly overlooked the beach. Each morning we ordered the breakfast in our room (allow approx. 30 min) and sat on the balcony where it was very quiet and serene. We opted for either the American breakfast or the Caribbean breakfast. Both were equally good but by the time they included bread and fruit, the breakfast was large enough for 2 people to split, so it was perfect for my husband and me. There is an infinity pool that sits back from the beach that is adults only, so you can relax and enjoy it in a more peaceful setting. The pool overlooking the beach is also very nice, and there are cabanas at both pools where you can have some additional privacy and block out some of the sun if needed. There is a bar that sits at the edge of the pool and beach next to a wonderful casual restaurant named 20 Knots that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has several tables for outside dining overlooking the beach. You can place an order for drinks or food with the resort staff that frequently walk the beach to make sure that you are taken care of (don't worry, they will not bother you and wait for you to get their attention so they do not disturb you if you are sleeping). The beach is just long enough for a nice walk each morning and the water was calm. We saw a few boats pass by, but nothing like you would see in a more commercialized area. The restaurants on site are fantastic. We ate at both the Bohio Bar & Lounge and 20 Knots for dinner. Bohio Bar & Lounge has a wonderful shrimp tempura and we tried other items from the menu that were all very good. 20 Knots has a wonderful pizza large enough for 2 people. During our visit there was a rose wine and cocktail happy hour on the beach one evening where 2 drinks were free during the hour. And you should not miss the Caribbean beach BBQ. It was nothing short of spectacular with live entertainment where they performed songs you would expect to hear on a beautiful island like Anguilla. I cannot say enough about the staff. By the end of our stay, the staff was hugging us like they truly did not want us to go. It is one of the warmest welcomes and goodbyes we have ever had while traveling where you are treated not like guests, but like family! We cannot wait to return!

This place is quiet and civilised and altogether gorgeous. In size terms, it hovers somewhere between a boutique hotel and a small resort. It is run by Hilton, so there is every now and again a glimpse of the corporate culture. But it also hasn't lost a sense of individualism thanks, I'm guessing, to its previous private ownership and the staff. The result is that everything is in its place and super organised, but with a human charm and a wonderful, cheerful quality of service. I loved the combination, and I'll definitely be back. I arrived in St Maarten airport early evening and was very efficiently whisked across to the ferry terminal, through border control and then a 35 minute speedy ferry, more border control on arrival at Anguilla, and via a waiting taxi for 20 minutes for a late check in and a lovely smiling welcome on arrival. All organised by the super organised Zemi staff. My room was a large king with balcony in one of the various building blocks, overlooking the tranquility pool and its rustling palm trees, and beyond to the sea and the balmy night sky with its shooting stars. I was on the top (third) floor - which I'd recommend for the view over the resort to the water's edge. In addition to the usual things you'd find in an up-market resort room, also provided is bottled water, flip flops, a beach basket and an extensive selection of coffees, teas, a kettle and mini bar stuff. The electric sockets are two flat pin and one round pin type standard US pattern. Big flat screen tv, no streaming services. Note that Zemi have now discontinued offering DVD players. So instead, load up a USB stick with your favourite entertainment and plug it into the TV in your room instead. Oh, and very good wifi everywhere on site, as I recall. As for the resort, its a gentle maze of lush hedged winding paths on the hillside, connecting the various accommodation blocks, leading down to the upper (adults only) tranquility pool and the adjacent lap pool (both made for seclusion and reflection and dozing over your book) with the lower main building (restaurants, reception, a sort of a tiny library, cabinas around the main pool) having a more upbeat vibe (although still pretty civilised), and from there down to the beach. At every pool, in addition to the endless supply of towels, there are large dispensers of SPF40 sun block and also soothing after sun cream - very welcome too for those of us who are Celtically pale and who long ago gave up trying to get a serious tan. I'm not an expert, but it seemed to me that there were also good arrangements for accessibility, both for children and for disabled visitors - including a brilliant beach wheel chair thing. So, someone somewhere has thought about this sector of the visitor demographic. There's a reasonably sized gym, and a larger than usual resort shop too. There's a very large spa building further up the hillside - transported apparently from Thailand and rebuilt on site. Its a large, multilevel, creaking dark wooden series of rustic shuttered buildings, which adds an intriguing dimension to the experience of having a treatment! Breakfast may seem pricey (hey, this is Anguilla) but it was also very good. As indeed were the poolside snacks and the excellent service that came with that. And everything else I had in the relaxed kitchen style restaurent. I didn't experience the fine dining or the rum tasting options - I was too busy watching the pelicans dive-fishing and dreaming in the sunlight........ I'm sure the staff would have been great at arranging off-site activities. And if you needed a helicopter ride or a private yacht charter to somewhere or a tour of this or that, I bet they would have arranged that too. Its that sort of place. Finally, the staff were in my experience outstanding without exception. It was noticeable that everyone from the bar staff to the gardeners to the reception to the pool side staff were both relaxed (cheerfully responded to my "good morning!") and professional. I suspect that the resort manager knows what they're doing! So, all in all I thought that Zemi Beach House was a class act, balancing the corporate "Hilton" element with the more personalised individual vibe. That certainly worked for me.
