My wife and I just returned from spending 4 days/nights at the White Doe Inn. David & Tonia Roberts have created a beautiful and relaxing environment for anyone planning to visit the Outer Banks. We have stayed at a number of B & B's and the White Doe Inn is by far the nicest we have ever experienced. Tonia is a culinary wizard and breakfast each morning was exceptional. Plus, every afternoon at 4:00 PM she prepares a wonderful treat to enjoy with a glass of wine while relaxing in their beautiful Victorian home. The wonderful staff were very attentive to all our needs and the opportunity to make new acquaintances with the other guests was an added bonus. If you're planning a visit to the Outer Banks you should strongly consider staying on Manteo with it's quaint downtown away from the traffic and congestion of Nag's Head. And you will appreciate the hospitality and charm of the White Doe Inn.

So many nice touches like happy hour, made from scratch breakfast, chilled filtered water dispenser on our floor, latte cappuccino maker. We love the walkability from the Inn to Manteo waterfront, bars, and restaurants, and a wonderful local bookstore.

We stayed just this last weekend and had a marvelous time. The inn is beautiful and you will not want to miss Tonia’s breakfasts. Home made biscuits and jam, French toast and quiche were our treats over the weekend. You can tell that this inn is run from the heart, the owners have thought of everything - comfortable sheets, cozy sitting areas and a chance to mingle during happy hour out on the patio. Just a short walk into town to visit shops or grab dinner. It was hard to leave!

Wonderful getaway in a lovely relaxing inn! Breakfast was delicious and as a celiac, Tonia was so thoughtful and kept me in mind. ALL rooms were beautifully decorated, orderly, and clean. Loved the fireplace in the bedroom 🤗. Bed was very comfortable. Dave and Tonia are down-to-earth, kind people.

Fantastic Hosts, Gourmet Breakfast, Happy Hours with wine, Beautiful Inn. I booked a three day stay in early February for my husband's birthday. We had a fantastic time. The location is great even in the winter. We stayed in the garden room and were extremely comfortable, loved the fireplace in the room. Dave and Tonia made for excellent hosts and made sure we had a memorable stay. Loved it and will go back!

We stayed for our Babymoon, and I highly recommend the location and the Babymoon package. They handled scheduling our maternity photo shoot and in-room massages, and the attention to detail with all of the special touches were much appreciated. We are still talking about how great breakfast was every day!

My husband and I stayed at the White Doe Inn for my birthday celebration. It was fabulous! The hosts went out their way to make us feel welcomed and pampered. The room was beautiful and the garden tub and gas fireplace were great! The breakfast was superb, and the happy hour was a nice addition to our celebration. The inn is centrally located and you can walk to the waterfront. We hope to visit again. We recommended the White Doe Inn to friends who booked for a stay in June. Thank you for making my milestone birthday a birthday to remember!

Every aspect of our trip to the snow covered streets in Manteo exceeded our expectations. The White Doe Inn keepers, Dave and Tonia, were extremely friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional. We started our day with a delicious breakfast made by Chef Tonia with the freshest of ingredients and homemade everything! After exploring nearby attractions and shops, we returned to the Inn for a glass of wine, a special treat, good conversations, and and a book by the fire. Dave and Tonia are transforming each space to make it even more beautiful and comfortable than it already is! My husband and I will definitely return and highly recommend the White Doe Inn to all who find themselves in need of a restorative, memorable experience.

We recently returned from our five day getaway to The White Doe Inn! Wow, just wow, it was more than we had hoped! Just a lovely and serene Inn. A beautifully and meticulously renovated historical property, preserving its history while implementing modern amenities! The owners Dave and Tonia elevated our stay to perfection! They are personable and comfortable to be around. They truly want you to have the best experience and you can feel the love they have for their Inn and their guests. We enjoyed daily gourmet breakfast prepared by chef Tonia, each day was more delicious and each course was creatively presented! There was a lovely server for 2 of our days, I didn't get her name but she had dark hair and was so sweet, we chatted about our pets and Tonia's freshly made dishes, she's a gem to the Inn! After exploring the charming areas for the day, we returned to the Inn for the daily social hour, (it's actually 2 hours!) Select wines and both savory and sweet house made snacks were provided! It was great to sit and play cards, games, read a book, or socialize with other guests as well as Dave and Tonia, who share their amazing stories of how they came to own the Inn! Truly a relaxing and exceptional stay, we will definitely return!

We were thoroughly impressed with this charming bed and breakfast! Having not stayed at one for years, this was a wonderful treat. David and Tonia are perfect hosts, and we enjoyed engaging in conversation with them, as well as savoring Tonia's incredible breakfast dishes. Our accommodations in the Tower suite were delightful, with a beautifully decorated and spacious room. The happy hour gatherings with other guests was also a highlight, along with the sweet treats and convenient latte machine. Our stay was extremely relaxing, thanks to the comfortable beds, spotless rooms, and outstanding hospitality. Furthermore, the property's proximity to downtown Manteo, with its quaint stores and restaurants, made for a lovely stroll. We wholeheartedly recommend this bed and breakfast for a truly unforgettable experience.

Great hosts and excellent breakfasts and amenities. Beautiful inn with lovely grounds. Near the historic harbor downtown. Their restaurant recs were spot on. We love this B and B. Our 4th stay there. We won’t stay anywhere else in Manteo and the Outer Banks.

Tania’s formal culinary training is showcased in the AMAZING breakfast selections and I can guarantee you will not leave there hungry! We highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Dave and Tonya have taken the vibe we experienced from the previous owners to a new level. We love to stay in the Garden room and appreciate the upgrades. We are big fans of Tonya's culinary delights and can't wait to return!

The entire experience from the moment we checked in until we departed was absolutely 1st class! We loved the decor and coziness of the room ... the private patio was a wonderful place to enjoy a sip of wine late in the afternoon as the sunset. Additionally, the staff were all very professional, friendly and most courteous. The breakfast was well prepared & presented and was extremely hardy. My wife & I are looking forward to a return trip to the QWhite Doe Inn.

We have been to White Doe Inn several times. It has been one of our favorite getaways. We were surprise to see a new couple had purchased the B&B back in June 2024. As B&B owners, we are one of the hardest guests to have. We know what goes into running a B&B and know what to look for. What a great surprise! The location was just perfect. They had made some changes to the layout, but had kept some of the best parts. Yes, they still have ice cream sandwiches for their guests. The new couple are excited about operating their own location and were excited to talk and share experiences with us. You can expect many great improvements as well as old favorites. We stayed in the Garden Room downstairs. How thankful were we to have discovered a ground floor room. Staircases are not my friend at the moment and it was wonderful to just walk in to our room from the garden. The bed was super comfortable. That is one of the things we find in some B&Bs, hard beds. But not this one. The room was dark in the morning and had we not had to leave, I could have slept all day in there. The bathroom was amazing. After dinner, I came back to the room and soaked in the tub. The space in the bathroom is wonderful. Its not like a space pulled from the room like some older homes. Its a real bathroom! Breakfast was a treat. The couple are from Austin, Texas. Breakfast was one of the staples from their neck of the woods, Breakfast Tacos. That was a first for me. It was wonderful. As B&B owners for over 12 years, we would highly recommend a stay with the White Doe Inn.

This charming and historic inn was perfect for our anniversary. It is beautiful inside and out as well as SO welcoming. The special touches like fresh baked cookies and an outdoor fire pit made you feel at home. To top it all off, the gourmet breakfast was spectacular!!

What a great weekend we had at this lovely inn in Manteo, NC. The husband and wife team of Tonya & David are a remarkable duo who make the White Doe Inn such a memorable experience. The breakfast(s) that Tonya produces are world class...just don't expect to even think of calorie counting! The rooms are wonderfully decorated, and the location lends itself to just wandering the safe quiet streets of a time when people looked out for each other, and not only say hi, but they really want to know how are you doing? New Yorkers will go into an epileptic fit!! So, if you want charm, great food, fantastic location, and a wonderful friendly woner/staff that make it all come together...RUN TO THIS PLACE!!

Our visit to the White Doe Inn was perfect in every way! From the moment we walked in the door Tonia and Dave made us feel so welcome we knew we had found the perfect location for our visit to Manteo. The Inn is so beautiful and just a short walk to the downtown area and boardwalk. We visited in October and loved the outside Halloween decorations. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing at all the outdoor spaces with our friends…porch, back yard, fire pit with hot chocolate and smores. Tonia is an amazing Chef! All of the food was so wonderful….5 star breakfast every morning (best ever had), artichoke dip at afternoon guest get together, home baked cookies….oh my those cookies, ice cream sandwiches made with those cookies….special snacks for us to enjoy while watching a football game outside with our group of friends. I could go on and on! We enjoyed meeting other guests staying at the Inn. Most relaxing trip I have ever taken! We felt so special and cared for while at White Doe Inn….We hated to leave. Can’t wait to go back!

We just spent a delightful few days at the very charming and inviting White Doe Inn, which is nestled in the quiet and friendly town of Manteo. From the moment my husband and I arrived, the owners Dave and Tonia made us feel right at home! They invited us to share snacks and wine with them for Happy Hour, and we sat in rocking chairs on the front porch as we chatted with them. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and we even had a gas fireplace in case of chilly nights. Outside you can choose to sit in the relaxing gazebo or around a cozy firepit. Tonia is an excellent cook, and her superb breakfasts and homemade snacks are not to be missed! What makes the White Doe extra special are the people! In addition to Dave and Tonia who are the most welcoming hosts, we met and got to know such interesting and friendly people from all over, who were also staying at the Inn! We will certainly look forward to returning for another visit to the White Doe Inn soon! Thanks again for a wonderful stay, Dave and Tonia! More
