Fantastic hotel and attention.
We stayed from Feb 27th to Mar 2nd.
Since we arrived, the attention was top class. The best ever at any other hotel we’ve stayed.
Congrats to the hotel staff.
Particularly, Rodrigo at the front desk was amazing.

Fantastic property superb 👌 service highly recommend top notch service amazing Restaurants excellent food. FYI if you book your own transfers communicate with the front desk upon check in. They want you to use their taxi service which is super expensive other than that we had great time.

Huge fans of Mexico, and our first time to W at Punta. Tried a jungle room - cool room, but a 5 minute walk to the beach, each direction, and had to dodge mosquito sprayers along the way. I would have welcomed an overpriced mini-bar, but there was none. So, to enjoy a single beer or soda in our room you want me to make a call to Room Service and then wait...for a single anything? Hmmm. (No, beer was not available for purchase anywhere on site besides their restaurants.) I did ask about alternative room options - $700/night extra for a shorter walk and partial ocean view, and the hotel was only at 60% occupancy, for a Bonvoy member of years? Hmmm. The beach experience was full of joy - clean, clear and colorful water, just great, with miles of happy beach all around. The Mexican food was delicious and the staff were all great. However, I was stung in the ocean by, my guess, a stingray. Serious pain, lots of gushing blood. I hobbled back for help. Someone showed up with a basic med kit. (A doctor service was offered.) I did ask for something for the intense pain. The W suggested I walk over to their store and look for options. So, sitting in a pool of my own blood with blood still coming out of my ankle, in serious pain with zero mobility, the W solution was for me to get up and walk over to their little store and go shopping? The only official protocol was a W staff asked me to sign a waiver indemnifying the hotel of any responsibility. Post fact, not one W employee/manager inquired about my well-being, not ever. I don't need/look for sympathy and the sting/wound was no big deal, but shouldn't a manager or someone from the W at least pretend to care about the well-being of their guest? One simple follow-up could have made all the difference. And, yes, I went back into the ocean - no issues and just wonderful. A hotel with potential but execution could be so much better.

Our week at W Punta Mita was a total relaxation! The hotel grounds are nestled in a stunning jungle setting, and the intoxicating scent of Night Blooming Jasmine filled the air – it was magical! The W Spa was an absolute dream. After a massage, relaxing in the pool with the majestic rustling of palm trees overhead and the enchanting songs of the local birds was pure tranquility.
The gym was great too, with beautiful views. We loved working out there in the mornings, often having the whole place to ourselves. The staff were all superb – friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond.
A huge thanks to Alfredo, our favorite bartender, he's a true master of his craft, and Julio for their amazing service and food recommendations. We can't wait to return to W Punta Mita

We were asked at check in if we were celebrating anything special and we told them it was our anniversary and they said they’d make it special. Well that didn’t happen. Nothing. Zilch.
I asked for dining options from the concierge and was not given complete info. Just two of the hotel choices when I found out later there were several more.
I asked the concierge for all the hotel dining options and hours. I was only sent dinner options and nothing about lunches or breakfast. And the only dinner options I was given were Spice Market. I was told zero about Rumbra or others. I was told zero about Chevy (which is confusing —- see below).
I was told nothing about:
Rubra
Living Room Bar
Wet Deck
Chevy
Mesa 1 (online says to email, but we are told to call—very confusing)
Wet Too (don’t even know where it is)
Solero (don’t even know where it is)
We had no streaming device. Waited way too long for it.
Our toilet didn’t flush. We didn’t have hot water.
Positive: a doctor was called for us. Thanks. Also the grounds and rooms are immaculately clean.
Room service order was wrong both times. Tomatoes on my sandwich both times and I am allergic. But it had no lettuce or balsamic. No idea why. The quesadilla (photo attached) is a total joke for $17 USD. It’s crazy. And no sour cream with it even though I asked. We also asked for glasses from IRD and they didn’t bring any. And no spoons for soup the first time. All requests were written in English and Spanish.
Some information says the living room bar is open at any hour. Other information says it has hours that are set.
Some information says Rubra coffee bar and wine bar is open Wednesday through Sunday. Other information says it is closed on Wednesday. Nothing in the latest update says it is closed this Wednesday.
Some information says Chevy closes at 6 PM. Some says 7 PM. Some says 6:30 PM. Some says 9 PM. And what is Solero???
The links for Rubra coffee menu and wine menu do not even work.
We told the concierge several times about the food tray being left in our room. Over multiple days. We didn’t receive a reply at all. After they acknowledged it it made no difference. The tray stayed over 24 hours this time.
Housekeeping never replaced our glasses in our room with clean glasses.
The link attached says that Thursdays in December have a Mexican feast at Venazu. There are no more Thursdays in December when this link is sent out. So it’s this Thursday included even though it’s in January? Same question with Peruvian night at Chevy on Friday nights. It says December. This week is January.
Is Jan 1 pizza and wine night at Venazu ONLY pizza? Or regular menu as well? It would be good to know so people can make choices.
Champagne and seafood on Fridays at Wet Too (wherever that is) in December. Well again, this Friday is in January. So is it included?
Is Garden Plaza and Wirikuta NYE dinner the same? They have two different name names, so there’s no way to know for sure.
Is the reset brunch a buffet? Is there a menu available? Does one need reservations? (They never answered this.)
Bonvoy Golden Hour: Friday night in December. Again, this Friday is January, so is it included? Also, what/where is Tapete Huichol? Found out it’s only for high level members. The literature does not say that.
Sound healing: the guide says that the last one for December was the 30th. However, we found out there was another one this morning on the 31st. Would’ve been nice to know so we could have gone like we did on previous visits. It was a lovely experience. Are there any more complimentary sound bath this week? Would be good to know. Other information says that it’s at 9 AM every Friday and it’s complimentary. So which is the truth?
The guide says that there are movies on Wednesday night in the sand. Is there one tomorrow night? Or is that canceled as well? (No one answered this.)
The link I sent that I was given from the concierge for this week, shows there was a black Angus night on December 23. There was also one last night. We would have loved to have gone to that, but we didn’t know about it because it’s not on the schedule. Why???!!!????!!
I ordered a mango ice cream, and ice cream, which is premade on Sunday at the beach. It took 45 minutes to get my ice cream after I asked for it twice. It’s unacceptable.
I’ve stayed as I said at many W Hotels, St Regis, Four Seasons (those are my faves), and my mother is one of the top travel agents in the United States. I always leave an honest review on Tripadvisor and on Google. So, I am surprised that the pool chairs here fill up in the morning by seven or 8 AM and there is no one sitting there. The fact that they let people put a book or a towel on a chair and then go to breakfast and leave chairs unattended for hours so no one else can sit there is ridiculous. No other hotel allows this. It’s not fair to people who are at the pool looking for a place to sit. Literally every chair taken but not a single person at the pool. You need to change this policy. Period.
Finally, Gutsavo from Guest Services stepped in and ensured our next room service order would be correct. Sadly, it was not and it was missing FOUR items. Going to the management here makes no difference.
Lastly:
The doctor you sent on Monday gave me a prescription for antibiotics. He GUARANTEED me I could get this at the gift shop here. I asked at the gift shop yesterday when I was in there if I would be able to get it today and they said yes. I just went to the gift shop again and the lady in there working now says they don’t have it, and they never carry it. She said they don’t ever have antibiotics. This is absolutely INSANE. I need this drug and no one here knows what the heck they are doing.
I was here in 2020 and figured the service issues and wrong info was due to COVID and low staff, etc. But, it’s only worse. AVOID.

Our stay at W Punta de Mita was beyond exceptional, and much of the credit goes to the incredible team who made our trip unforgettable. At the very top of this list is Gustavo, the concierge, whose dedication, expertise, and genuine warmth truly elevated our experience. From the moment we arrived, Gustavo was a step ahead, orchestrating flawless plans, recommending hidden gems, and ensuring that every detail of our stay was seamless. His passion for creating unforgettable moments was unmatched, and he is a true asset to the W team.
Another standout of our trip was dining at the iconic Mesa1, where Raul provided an extraordinary experience. The intimate setting is magical on its own, but Raul’s impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and genuine care turned an already special evening into a cherished memory. He made us feel like the most important guests in the world.
At the welcome desk, Fernanda and Josue were the epitome of hospitality. Their warm smiles, infectious energy, and ability to anticipate every need made us feel instantly at home. Whether it was assisting with check-in or sharing personalized tips, they went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional.
A huge thank-you as well to Paola at Whatever/Whenever, whose professionalism and efficiency shone through in every interaction. Whether it was coordinating pre-arrival details or handling last-minute requests, Paola’s ability to make everything happen seamlessly (and with a smile) was a true highlight of our experience.
Of course, the W Punta de Mita itself is a stunning escape—vibrant design, lush landscapes, and a beachfront that feels like paradise. But it’s the team who make this place truly special. Every single person we encountered radiated genuine warmth, passion, and commitment to creating magical moments.
If you’re considering a stay at W Punta de Mita, don’t hesitate. This isn’t just a resort—it’s a destination where you’ll be treated like family, pampered like royalty, and leave with memories to last a lifetime. We can’t wait to return!

My husband and I came here on our “mini” moon and it was amazing and just what we were looking for. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The service was great from the pool service, restaurant service, front desk, housekeeping and guys on the golf carts. The food was delicious, a bit pricey but we were expecting that staying at a resort. The sunsets were amazing and the adults only pool was *chefs kiss*. I also had a massage service from Sylvia at AWAY spa which was incredible. We went during the slow season so it felt like we had the resort to ourselves at some points. Overall highly recommend for a relaxing, romantic getaway.

The hotel is nice, service was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and nicely landscaped. I am only giving 4 stars for the beach. It has lots of trash on it, it is rocky, and the water was brown. This could be the time of year, as it is the rainy season. My husband is AE with Marriott, so we were able to enjoy the spa amenities for no charge, 1 hour a day. The spa pool is really nice and in the middle of the jungle. We did get massages and the experience was excellent. Breakfast was very good…especially the conchals! The fish tacos by the beach were the best we had on the trip (we tried a lot in sayulita on a taco tour). We had dinner twice at Veracruz and it was good. Prices are high, but that is expected at a resort. We went into Sayulita and Punta Mita and both were fun towns and offered lots of restaurant options. If the beach is important to you, I would check out another place.
