Next time in Cape Town we would come again!

Hotel was a great location and the drivers, cleaners and front desk staff were all great. The only downside was the breakfast. Our breakfast was included and each day the breakfast staff would have commented that it wasn’t and would have followed my husband to make payment for this. It became a bit of a torture, they would have took ages to bring you anything and most the time forgot. The coffee was also not Included in the breakfast which was very odd. If I was staying here again I would book it without the breakfast.

Great location and breakfasts
Very comfortable, clean rooms, with large beds and bathrooms. Excellent choice at breakfast with lovely attentive staff. The addition of a pianist makes for a soothing retreat at dinner.
The location is so convenient & the waterfront is the place to be for restaurants and activities.
Great location. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom setup. Friendly staff. Breakfast varied and tasty. Loft room great views of harbour and table mountain. Very clean and quiet. Would recommend location for safety and access to waterfront restaurant and bars

If you are looking to stay at the V&A waterfront then this hotel works, but it’s far from perfect. The rooms are large and ours had a great view of Table Mountain, but it was all a bit soulless. Breakfast was OK but, beware, not everything is included. I also found the reception staff rather glum; as with the room, there was simply no warmth or charm.
But, it is very well located, with a myriad of shops and restaurants literally right on your doorstep; Harry’s Bar (nextdoor) is great. We used their sister hotel’s pool and bar, which were very nice; I suspect the Queen Victoria is probably the place to stay!
We’ve also stayed at the Table Bay Hotel and I think that the Victoria and Alfred is probably better, but it’s marginal.

We were so impressed with this hotel. Right on the waterfront and in amongst all the action. We had a great room overlooking the water and the mountains. The food was excellent and very well priced. the staff were efficient and the service good. My only gripe was being charged 35 Rand for a Flat White at breakfast….only filter coffee complimentary? We are going to book here again for January 2026. Superb.

We stayed here for four nights mid Jan 2025 in a loft room, which was well-equipped, spacious & clean. Two bottles of water were provided daily.
Other than breakfast, we didn't eat in the restaurant, however breakfast made our stay! The cold buffet inside was plentiful and hot dishes were made to order. What made it really special was being able to sit outside on the Waterfront and watch the seals play in the harbour.
The hotel is in a great location, close to shopping, restaurants and bars. The V&A Waterfront area has a high security presence, so feels like a safe place to be and walk round, even after dark.

We arrived in mid-afternoon after a 90 minute journey from Hermanus. Took a few minutes to find the hotel as our driver was not familiar and satnav don't quite do it, but easily sorted.
Great welcome at the door and very quick check in. Hotel looks great from the foyer, although is clearly a very popular and busy hotel. We headed to the 3rd floor for our loft room. Perfectly adequate as the cheapest rooms as we wouldn't be spending lots of time in there. Not worth the extra for views that you can get by stepping outside. Only down side was it was hard to see what the weather was like outside with just the velux windows and with changeable weather needed to pop downstairs to decide what to wear for the day.
Housekeeping was great and always kept us topped up with water, although we do tip every day. Room could be a bit noisy in the late evening (probably till about 11:00) as it's so near the waterfront activities - was never a real problem.
Breakfast was really good, although there was a tricky day when all those attending a conference at the hotel came down fro breakfast at the same time. We arrived after most had left and realised the impact - slower service (as staff had so much to clear away all at once), lack of plates, glasses, cups etc. Staff were wonderful but clearly overstretched. They explained what had happened and just said whatever you need that you haven't got tell us and we'll bring it directly to you - and they did! Really didn't spoil anything. Food was great - both the extensive buffet and the cooked to order. Eggs Benedict was excellent (tell them how you want your eggs). Made short work of all the fruit and preserves (just missing any honey), wonderful meats and cheese as well as Pastel de Nata to finish.
Lady sorting trips, transfers etc. was very good (huge apologies, can't remember her name) and helped us out getting to the airport with a. range of options.
Best thing about the hotel (apart from excellent staff all round) was the location. really could not have been better and meant we could easily access the entire V&A Waterfront, whether for a long stroll or just a quick visit to the Tapas Bar or shops attached. Very short walk to the Robben Island ferry, shopping mall, art museum, Time Out Market, The Watershed (artists, crafts and sellers), amazing aquarium and Hop on Hop off tourist bus/info. Perfect location!

We had a lovely stay here and the location of the hotel is excellent for exploring the waterfront area of Cape Town. We had a great view of the harbour and Table Mountain from our room. The staff were very polite, welcoming and attentive and did everything to make our stay comfortable. We particularly enjoyed being able to have our delicious breakfasts and evening meals in the outside area overlooking the harbour. The buffet-style breakfasts were truly fantastic - such a lovely variety of fresh and tasty options! The only minor disappointment was the room itself which felt a bit 'tired' in terms of decor; cracked sink in bathroom, peeling paint, poor quality pillows, etc. Thanks to all staff for a wonderful stay!
