Celebrated our anniversary for the second time here. Great hosts and great ADK atmosphere. Loved the stairs, parlor, view of mts and pub. Beautiful holiday decorations. No TV but great WiFi so we enjoyed streaming movies and music. Look forward to our next anniversary here.

We enjoyed our stay at The Woods Inn. I've always been curious about it after having seen it for years in its abandoned state before it was renovated. The setting is beautiful with chairs along the lake and a wraparound porch and a dock leading to a Gazebo in the water. It truly gives you an Adirondack experience, because it is an old hotel that had been abandoned for years and then renovated to its current state. It's not the Marriott or the Holiday Inn, and if you go in expecting that, you will be disappointed. It is a throwback to another time. The rooms are comfortable. Our bed had a painting on the headboard. No TV, and that was just fine with us. After all, we were there for the unique experience - and we were glad it wasn't the Marriott or the Holiday Inn.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel on Fourth Lake. If you’re looking for historic rustic charm and a warm friendly atmosphere this is for you. No TV in the room is a plus as you are here to take in nature and get recentered. Owners recommended places to eat and freely gave us tips for our stay. Always asked if we needed anything. The Tavern was cozy and had great food. Even a billiards room! Highly recommended for convenience and quiet atmosphere.

We just returned from a trip to the Adirondack mountains to see the fall foliage. We selected The Woods Inn because it was right in Inlet, NY and we could easily walk to shops and restaurants. Also, we enjoyed the waterfront view of the lake from our room and this historic hotel which had lots of character and charm. However, there is no elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms, our room did not even have a TV or refrigerator, and we had to use the space heater provided during the cold night as the baseboard heaters didn't appear to be working. We will not be staying here again.

The staff is outrageous good. Helpful, friendly + patient. The building is gorgeous. The food in the main restaurant is 4 star. We didnt have a chance to eat in the pub. Next time. Property is on the water. Large dock w/gazebo. Easy walk to restaurants/shops.

This place is rustic and has been around for over 100 years. It does show its age, but the room was comfortable (no air conditioning) and the staff was friendly. They do not serve breakfast, but the Overlook restaurant provided us with a fine dining experience on a Monday night. The pub did have some good beer on draft. However, both of these restaurants were closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, its a quick walk to town for eating options. They could do better with amenities such as hair dryers and liquid soap as well as at least having a coffee & tea station for guests. Inlet is an interesting town and this Inn is right on the lake which did provide for some relaxation. If you take the time to look around Inlet it actually has things to do.

The reception desk is about 1 1/2 flights of stairs up, first set of rooms (100s) are another flight up and so on. My wife has a back/nerve disability and we ended up on what they referred to as third floor (301) that is actually about 4 1/2 flights of stairs up, no elevator! They blamed us for not researching the location enough. We walked away after one night (took that long to find new location and Wife couldn’t tolerate another trip down the stairs on check in day) with a VERY small refund and a lot of rudeness.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Woods Inn. The management and staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, had a great bed, and an average sized bathroom. The wifi was excellent and we took advantage of the EV charging stations on property for our car.
We really enjoyed being right on the lake with amazing views. Also next door you can rent canoes and kayaks. And you are a block away from all the downtown shops and restaurants. Don't miss the donuts at Mary's Bakery (only open Sat & Sun monnings).
As in many ADK lodgings there is no AC. We didn't need it as most summer nights cool down. And as others have mentioned the walls and floors are thin and transmit sound. We didn't have a problem sleeping, but signs and printed notices about a 10pm quiet time could help.
p.s. there is a large sitting / living room on the main floor with TV and there's an 8' billiards table on the ground floor.

An excellent Inlet destination.
We are regulars for several years. The duck breast is excellent. So is the venison when they have it. It is for sale. Charlie and the chef do a great job. Daily pasta dish. I like the beet appetizer. Deserts come out on a tray for selection.
Gorgeous property and lake views; needs paint and some power washing

The non-contact check in and check out made the stay very impersonal. No one regularly mans the front desk and thus if you need a hairdryer in the morning when the room doesn't provide one, good luck. One is supposed to text them for any requests but with limited WiFi and no cell service, that didn't work at all. Luckily I found a hairdryer behind the front desk, used it and returned it for others so unlucky to find none in their room. The Cohasset room was fine, nice lake views if you bend down to look out the windows. The walls are a bit thin and thus one can hear other conversations in other rooms. The dining room served excellent food, but the server was a bit surly. Maybe it's NY but we're used to something more hospitable in our southern part of the USA.

We have stayed in every type of enjoyable accommodation at the Woods Inn over the years. Rooms at the Inn, glam-Tents, Cottage on the lake, and, most recently, Carriage House Townhouses. Charlie and Nancy are welcoming, friendly, owners who have added even more character to the Woods Inn than its storied past. When we needed a cot for our young daughter in our room, it was always ready for us when we arrived. When we needed food with no dairy, the chef accommodated us without question. The internet, which was pretty much non-existent in our earlier years, works great! All 4 of us used it simultaneously our last visit with no problems. The Carriage Houses, we found, are more akin to an “Extended Stay Hotel” than a “vrbo.” They don’t have much space to hang out inside, so we drank our morning coffee at the lake and read books on the Inn porch. No A/C was no problem. Despite three very hot days we nonetheless were cool at night with all the windows open (we did bring 2 of our own window fans bc I prefer cold nights). The kitchen, as we were told, was minimally stocked with pots and pans (we always travel with favorite cookware because minimalist vacation kitchens are common).

Had an amazing experience without technically staying, though we definitely plan to book a stay in our next adventure through the Adirondacks.
The Woods Inn is an gorgeous step back in time that we came across by accident. Amazing building with beautiful preservation and restoration!
We were heading through a pretty messy snow event on our way from Saranac to home (Attica, NY) and decided to get a place to stay overnight till the storm passed. We booked a spa tub room online at the Woods Inn. When we arrived, we were a bit early, but found that the front desk was handling everything remotely through their ring doorbell. We were directed through the check in process, but found that the room set up for us was actually not yet available.
We are pretty easy going people (plus we were early) so we decided to head over to Old Forge and have some lunch and watch the rest of the football game while they set about fixing up a room. While we waited, the management kept in touch with us through texts. He let us know that ultimately, the room would not be available to us at their establishment and instead they were going to be finding us comparable lodging right where we were!
We were given a suite room with a Jacuzzi tub at a beautiful hotel in Old Forge. No charge. They went above and beyond generous and we are so very grateful for their help!

We had a wonderful long weekend to celebrate New Years Eve 2022.
Our room was very comfortable, bed and bed linens very nice, we enjoyed sitting and watching the lake out the windows.
The NYE party was great fun, food delicious and after party was a ball.
One of the great charms here besides the lovely old Inn is the friendliness of all we met, from the owner to the best bartenders ever, the Laughing Loon’s Cindy & Roy.
We look forward to returning soon!

Paid $450 for 2 nights in a jacuzzi room. No TV, refrigerator or microwave. No elevator, had to climb 3 flights of stairs with cooler & luggage. Room service did not make bed or replenish enough towels for a soak in the jacuzzi & shower. Ordered food from the tavern 30 minutes before restaurant opened. Ordered a salad & wanted to change to a cup of bisque. I was told it was too late to cancel the salad although it was just minutes later& kitchen wasn't open yet. Ordered an Italian panini& was served a grinder instead with a very tough roll. Needed a couple straws from the bar for drinks in our room & the barmaid took away the straws. That area relies on tourism but they lack hospitality. No one makes you feel welcome,,more like you're an imposition. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.
