The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

The Westin Grand Cayman is a beautiful resort with an excellent location. It is roughly in the middle of Seven Mile Beach which stretches ad far as you can see. The pool was nice and neither the beach nor the pool area were super crowded. The restaurants were all very goid and there were plenty of other options within a short walk or cab ride. I highly recommend the Westin.

Grand Cayman is an amazing place to visit, and where you stay can make a huge difference in your overall experience. The Westin Grand Cayman is absolutely the place to be if you want the best of everything. The hotel is perfectly located on Seven Mile Beach and offers one of the largest and most beautiful beach areas on the island, over 100 yards of perfect sand and no large rocks in the water. They even set up floating docks and cabanas in the water where guests can relax, lay out, and dive off. The beach staff is second to none—friendly, attentive, and always accommodating. Special thanks to Linton and Doreth, who took care of us every day. They always remembered our names and made the experience feel personal. It’s clear they genuinely love what they do and take pride in making guests happy. The pool bar is another highlight. Every bartender there is knowledgeable, attentive, and most importantly...fun. They really know how to set the tone for a great day. The swim-up bar is a great spot to spend an afternoon, and the lobby bar inside is excellent as well with a great selection of spirits and live music most evenings. And I have to mention Thomas makes an outstanding Old Fashioned. Now moving inside the hotel...this is where things really stood out. The front door staff and concierge team provide service that rivals a St. Regis. From the moment we arrived, they wouldn’t let us touch a bag or open a door the entire stay. They were always genuinely happy and welcoming, which set the tone for every day of our trip. A special thank you to Paul, Kirk, Marlon, Kadeen, Thomas, and Harry. You are the first impression for every guest who walks through those doors, and you absolutely get it right. Finally, I want to thank an incredible woman named Ombretta. She is truly the main reason our stay was so special. As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador member, I worked with her in guest relations, and she went above and beyond. She arranged a beautiful Lanai walk-out room that was immaculate and offered stunning sunset views every evening. She also personally introduced us to the staff members mentioned above to make sure we were in great hands throughout our stay. Every day when I passed the front desk, Ombretta would greet me by name and check in to make sure everything was perfect. Every conversation with her was thoughtful, genuine, and caring. She truly made our stay memorable. Thank you to the entire team at the Westin Grand Cayman. You are truly the only place to stay on the island, and every one of you deserves recognition for the incredible job you do. We will miss you all… until next time.

We just returned from 5 days at the Westin and really enjoyed our stay. Location: heart of Seven Mile Beach. Walkable or quick drive ton of restaurants. Great beach. 15 minutes to the airport. Food: mixed. Everything is pretty good but only Beach House is a stand out. Dan our server was fantastic. Food is pricey (typical of Grand Cayman) but the Kids’s breakfast buffet is a good deal. Adults at $48 USD- not so much. $80 USD for one kid and one adult is crazy. Amenities: gym is just ok. Coffee shop is good but gets really busy. Great stuff for kids- games/balls/toys can be signed out and they have daily activities for kids by the pool (included in the resort fee) and love that Red Sail Sports is in property for rentals and booking catamaran rides Rooms: ok. Good size and everything you need. Bed is comfortable. Booked a standard room on points or have lowly Gold status? You’ll have a great view of the parking lot. Biggest con- every pool and chair will be gone by 7:30am and there will be very few butts in seats. Huge problem and no one really does anything about it. We pre-booked cabanas because we stayed on points, it was worth the price to me. Overall, really enjoyed the property and staff. Very kid friendly. Safe. Great location.

We stayed at the Sunshine Inn and Suites on Grand Cayman Is. It is a couple blocks away from The Westin, a very short stroll. Being a "sister" property, we were entitled to use all the amenities at the Westin. I highly recommend dining at the patio grill, Tortuga. If you eat there or at any of the restaurants, and if you shop at their boutique, you can charge the purchase to your room. Amazing experience! As for the Sunshine Suites, the rooms are great, newly renovated. The Grill is still closed, so we had to go elsewhere to dine. A minor disappointment in an otherwise delightful trip!

We travel extensively and have stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman many, many times. It offers by far the best beach location on Grand Cayman, and the rooms are always well-maintained, the housekeeping staff always professional, efficient, graciuous, and friendly, and the beach, pool, bar, grill,and restaurant staff always very helpful and caring. Actually, every staff member made guests feel welcome and appreciated! Guests can always locate a beach or pool lounger any time of the day. No need to rise at sunrise to find a spot. Also, their grill menu has been updated, and the new salad and pizza offerings are much appreciated. One might note, as well, the outstanding menu at Woto. We dined there several times as well as the other Westin restaurants. One might consider, too, the hotel overall has been freshened with new paint and new balcony chairs. We look forward to visiting again next Janaury!

Location is just about perfect. Everything is 10 minutes away except the East End. Small grocer nearby. Plenty of places to walk to down the beach or on the streets. Parking can be difficult at peak times. We always found a spot but I'm not sure what you would do if you didn't. Maybe there is some street parking around. The resort was very well maintained. Really impressed with the staff. Beach was awesome, we could always find chairs. Like any resort, there is no enforcement of chair reservation violations. So know that going in. Bars were great, service at them as well. This place is expensive as is just about everything on Grand Cayman. But you get what you pay for. Workout room only had 3-4 treadmills working and at peak times there was not one available. That's cool - go for a run outside and when you enter the front door they will fetch you a cold bottle of water. Very nice. Only negative was how humid the room was. No fan in bathroom. It was just sort of musty the whole time. Minor detail. Would highly recommend this place.

This is our second time staying at the Westin and it will definitely not be our last. This hotel has the best location on Seven Mile Beach. Our room was so nice, clean, modern. The lobby of the hotel smells amazing. There are plenty of umbrellas and beach chairs, you just need to get up early and get a set. They also have an 8am daily beach yoga session. There’s a pretty lively bar in the lobby serving up cocktails. There is also a coffee shop which has a few breakfast items. The coffee is ok, nothing great. We had breakfast once in the restaurant on the premises. It wasn’t good and very over priced. Go to Eats Cafe right across the street. It has a great breakfast for a third of what you will pay at the Westin. We had lunch on the beach, the lunch menu is great. The salad are all delicious and the smash burger is a must. We had the nachos which were very good as well. Service was great. Everyone was so helpful and nice. We love th Cayman Islands and we love this hotel!

As a traveler with mobility issues travel is always hit or miss for accessibility. From the moment we arrived, Kirk greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome. Beach Ambassadors were available when my travel partner was off doing things I wasn't interested in. The grounds are impeccable and the beach is stunning even when the weather isn't perfect. Restaurants on site are great at the offerings and the sushi was the best we ever had. The most amazing experience was at the Hibiscus Spa. My son went down to see if they could accommodate me with a massage. To my delight they could. Elizabeth guided me through the process to get ready for the massage and then handed me over to Simone. There is not enough space to say what an amazing masseuse she is. A bright and bubbly personality coupled with amazing professional skills made the hour fly by. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated at the end. I hadn't felt that good in forever. We will be going back and I will be seeing Simone again. Ask for Simone, she is not only an amazing professional but a beautiful soul.

We took a chance and splurged to visit Grand Cayman for the first time and stay at the Westin. The Island is very expensive, and when researching, many folks mentioned Westin along with other resorts such as Ritz, Kimpton, etc. We chose Westin based on the great reviews, consistent mentions of pristine beach area and a bit more affordable than other places. We are so glad we did! The service was top notch, we always found a great seat either by the pool or beach and the beach setup was perfect with umbrellas, tables and a call button for service! The beach had zero seaweed / sargassum and crystal clear water, which was amazing. We loved having the fresh coconut cut open for us one day, refreshing coconut water. We thought the breakfast buffet was above average compared to other similar types of buffets. Although there are some who mention the resort could use some updating or sprucing up, we found everything to be super clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again if visiting.

We have never gone on an island trip over Christmas break before. The inflated prices, the crowds, but we took a chance based on a friend's recommendation and after seeing mostly positive reviews on trip advisor. This was our first time in the Caymans and it quickly became our new favorite island. Loved the quick, flat drive from the airport (if you've been to St. Thomas you know what I mean). The people are by far the friendliest we have ever encountered anywhere we've been. Taxi drivers, bartenders, hotel staff, housekeeping, it was a great thing to experience. Our rooms were ready upon arrival (early) and they followed our requests. To note - We stayed on the North side of the hotel and were woken up every morning at 7am by the roosters, other family members stayed on the south side of the hotel and did not have this problem. Loved our morning beach yoga classes, there's also a smaller gym that has what you need if you want to get an indoor work-out in. Had no problem getting machines and weights even during busy holiday season. Loved the bottled water and cold towel I received from the front staff after returning from a run. From what I saw after walking along the entire beach, The Westin has the best chair set up. The beach is wide, there are tables and umbrellas and plenty of space. You don't feel like you're packed in on top of the person next to you like at The Ritz. You do have to get up early to secure your chairs but I have not been to any hotel where that was not the case (even at the Four Seasons). The best part, the service! A small disk on your umbrella and you press it and it alerts your server. The service on the beach was the best we have ever experienced - hands down! And the food is amazing! I saw someone say the food was terrible, that's insane! The fish tacos, the lobster roll, the quinoa salad with fish, crispy tuna bowl, even the chicken fingers and fries were good! We didn't go in the pool once, because it was too cold, but we're beach people so it didn't really matter. Red Sail sports right on property for excursions and boat rental was so convenient. Housekeeping was also great, serviced our room everyday and not once did we have to call and ask for anything. There's also an empty mini fridge in your room if you want to run across the street to the convenience store for drinks or snacks (great if you have younger kids). They did a great job with the New Years eve party. Insanely overpriced and they didn't do the water fireworks because it was too rough, but there was a band and then a dj, fortune tellers, photobooth, fire dancers, tables right on the beach with a huge buffet and bar. Here is my only complaint. No coffee. I have never been to a hotel where there wasn't a coffee machine in your room and/coffee offered in the lobby. The only option to get a cup of coffee at the hotel was to wait on the insanely long line at the cafe, which is where everyone was ordering their breakfast. Suggestion - make a coffee only line at the cafe. Overall we had an excellent, relaxing trip thanks to the staff at The Westin and the wonderful people of Grand Cayman! Can't wait to go back!

The Westin Grand Cayman is hands down our favorite getaway. We’ve been there three times already and cannot wait to return. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel genuinely welcomed. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and always happy to go the extra mile. The food and drinks at the pool area are absolutely phenomenal and a highlight of every stay. Whether you’re relaxing by the water or enjoying a casual meal, the quality and service never disappoint. A special thank-you to Shirlando and Lekiysha, who went above and beyond to keep our kids (5 and 7) entertained. Their energy, kindness, and genuine care truly made our experience even more memorable. They are wonderful people and a real asset to the resort.

Our stay at the westin was incredible! We travelled with our kids (8yo and 6yo) and had so many incredible experiences both on and off property. The property is very well kept, cleans and relaxing - good food, great drinks and entertainment, tons of live music and games, and some of the best private beach on the island. Things were never crowded, no trouble getting seats at the pool or beach and a great mix of ages and travellers. The staff are amazing - special shoutout to Shirlando who consistently went above and beyond, is incredible with kids and ran a lot of the activities at the hotel - he made our kids feel so special and they were always excited to share their adventures with him. If you’re looking for a great place to chill for a fun family vacation or want to make it home base for island adventures, the Westin is a fantastic choice! We can’t wait to come back :)

Amazing family friendly resort with incredible guest service… special shout-out to Arun in Housekeeping who took extra special care of me when I had to work late one night and needed some extra coffee delivered to my room. Not only did Arun personally request my coffee but he came back later that evening to check to make sure I received it. This was one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. The hotel, island, weather and particularly the people make it an amazing experience. Although we had phenomenal service at many places, our service from Ryan B. (Aka Kentucky) at the Westin was next level. He made our trip absolutely unforgettable, and I wholeheartedly encourage all of my friends and family to go to the island and ask for him by name. He went above and beyond for us everyday, and we always requested his services when beach side. Thank you so much Kentucky, and we are looking forward to our next experience with you.

Our server, Ryan B., provided truly exceptional service throughout our 7 day stay at The Westin Seven Mile Beach Resort &Spa. We eagerly sought out his beach sections and dining tables as he was incredibly attentive, had a professional friendly attitude, and was always happy to accommodate our many dietary restrictions by offering knowledgeable recommendations from the menu and drink list. We truly appreciated his service which definitely made our stay more relaxing and enjoyable! When booking our trip next fall, we will definitely be calling ahead to make sure Ryan is on deck! The resort was well maintained, friendly staff and gorgeous white sandy beach!

We have just returned from a 7-night stay and had a fabulous time. We were originally booked to stay in the sister hotel over the road (Sunshine Suites) but due to extended renovation work they honoured our booking (at the original rate) and moved us to the Westin Grand for the week. Transfer time from the airport was approx. 20 mins and cost approx. £30KYD. We used the taxi service at the airport to get to the hotel (hotel arranged a taxi for our return journey back to the airport). We checked in just before 6pm and it was swift and easy. You don’t get allocated a keycard but a fob bracelet instead (a resort map and, spa menu/charges and activity list area also provided). We were allocated a room facing the main road which had a nice balcony (some of the rooms we noticed don’t have balconies). The room was very commodious, tastefully decorated, had plenty of storage space with plug and USB sockets dotted about everywhere. The bed and pillows were really comfy too. There were several mirrors and decent lighting, we only used the TV for background noise when we were getting ready on a night and there were plenty of English-speaking channels. Didn’t have the air con on much but when it was on it worked well and didn’t make much noise. A safe, hair dryer, ice bucket (ice machines located on all floors), iron, ironing board, bath robe, mini fridge, 2 x glasses, coffee machine (stocked daily with coffee, milk and sweetener) were provided as standard. A few bottles of complimentary Aquafina water bottles were provided daily (there are 2 large bottles of Fiju water provided on the sideboard, but these aren’t complimentary and are $8KYD each). Body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided in the shower area and mouthwash, body lotion and soap are provided near the sink area. Couldn’t hear any noise from the main road but we were rudely woken up daily at 4:00am by the cockerels that reside in the front of the hotel and the beach areas. The hotel really needs to do something about them, even our earplugs couldn’t defend the noise. Wi-fi was excellent especially down the beach and never dropped out. Housekeeping serviced the room daily. We loved the beach and pool areas. Beach towels are provided for free and can be picked up from the kiosk (area 5 on the resort map) just to the right of the large surfboard. There are several helpful and friendly beach ambassadors who will assist with moving/adjusting any sunlounges or parasols. The sunbeds are very comfy. It was a weight lifted off our shoulders knowing the sunbeds were in abundance and we didn’t have to get up early to reserve one (the front rows on the beach are snapped up quite quickly). We loved the few floating islands that the hotel provided in the sea where you could just drift away to sleep on them catching the sun. The sand is lush, white and soft complimented by a beautiful azure shoreline. We used the two hot tubs several times, both are located to the sides of the pool. Drinking water is provided for free around the entrance to the beach and on the side of the pool bar. We also seen some free water in the hallway just before the gift shop. With our return flight being at 18:50pm we requested a late check out 24 hours before departure. Although we couldn’t extend a late check out in our room already assigned, we were allowed a courtesy room (on the ground floor) free of charge until 15:00pm. We were extremely grateful for this, and the courtesy room was exactly like our room (albeit on the ground floor). The unique selling point of this hotel is the location. The hotel is directly facing the cheapest bar and eatery on the island – Legends. We read about this before we arrived and our original booking at the sunshine suites is just a few minutes’ walk from it. Once we dumped the bags after check-in we quickly ran over to catch the first happy hour of the evening (16.30pm to 19:00pm), then we popped into Black Beard’s liquor store to get some supplies, got a shower and headed back out for second happy hour 22:00pm till close. You won’t find a cheaper bar with the best happy hour on the island. All highballs £4KYD, beer bottles $4KYD, cocktails $5KYD. Prices weren’t that bad outside of happy hour where drinks such as gin/vodka including mixer was $6KYD and 20oz draft beer $5.50KYD (didn’t buy any drinks in the hotel but some of the prices we seen on the menus were showing a beer at happy hour priced at $6.50KYD and a cocktail was $8KYD which outside of happy hour was $14KYD). We also ate every night at Legends – prices for chicken burger/hamburger and fries $9.95KYD, build your own pasta dish $11.95KYD and chicken wrap with fries $12.95KYD, all the portion sizes were huge. There are also other eateries featured in the plaza where Legends is located including a sushi place, eats cafe and ice cream parlour. We booked our stingray city and star fish point excursion at Captain Marvin’s water sports which is also featured in this plaza. We absolutely loved this excursion and highly recommend it. We also used Black beards liquor store (that also features in this plaza) for all our alcohol needs. Supermarket wise we used the cost U less store which is a approx. 5-minute walk and is next to Governor’s square (there are other eateries, ATMs/banks and a Tortuga liquor store featured around here). This store is closed on a Sunday. Managed to get some cheap ‘Cayman Islands’ souvenirs here including a Cayman islands t-shirt - $15KYD and Cayman Islands Cap- $11KYD. One of the days the weather was dodgy, so we decided to take a stroll. We walked to Fosters supermarket (about a mile from the hotel), we then decided to keep on going and ended up in George Town. Popped into another supermarket on the way call Kirks Market. Visiting these supermarkets was a great opportunity to stock up on all the USA products that we love but can’t get in England like Crack an Egg and Coppertone SPF 8. Kirk’s had a large range of Iceland and Sainsbury’s frozen products (English supermarket brands) and Foster’s sold a range of Waitrose. Noticed that Kirk’s sold Lansoprazole on the shelf (in England we have to get a Perscription from the Doctor and can’t buy over the counter/off the shelf). Our return flight was the last of the day so most of the airport shops and restaurants were closing once we entered the departure gate (seen a Wendy’s and a small café next to it). For those who smoke there wasn’t much variety of cigarettes I think we spotted Marlborough and another brand all priced at $94KY a sleeve. Duty free alcohol was much cheaper in Blackbeard’s/Tortuga. The airport did sell cheaper Cayman T-shirts though 2 for $20KYD. We knew about the resort fee, which was payable once we checked out, it was $48KYD a day. Popped our heads in the gym which was a decent size, with a variety of equipment and open 24 hours. We found the air-con in lobby and corridors to be absolutely freezing; we mentioned this in passing to one of the chaps on the front door and they must have reported it seemed to have reduced the last few days of the stay. Overall, we had a fantastic week’s holiday at the West Grand Cayman and will return in a heartbeat. The hotel is in the perfect location with bars/restaurants/shops to the front of it and a perfect beach setting to the back of it. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The staff we did encounter during our stay were all fantastic, friendly and courteous. We want to say a big thanks to you all and another thanks to the Westin for honouring our original booking at the Sunshine Suites. We are intrigued to see what the sister hotel Sunshine Suites is about though. We were speaking to an Irish chap who was also staying at the hotel, and he said he has stayed at the Sunshine Suites 11 times and loved it. He also highlighted you can use the pool and beach facilities at the Westin at no extra charge.
