There were hidden fees. Resort fees on top of parking fees which is not mentioned on the website. Would not stay here again. Although the location was good the fees caught me off guard. Will just stay somewhere else the next time I visit. Reserved an ocean view and got a partial. When I told the front desk they were going to charge $39 more a day even though I paid for an ocean view.

We really liked the Twin Fin! Ok the bad first. The hotel is a little old and some things could use a refresh. Our sliding closet door was a little squeaky. Also they charge you about $67 a night resort fee. And, yes, the elevators are hard to figure out, especially after a long flight! :) The good: It's across the street from the beach! a lot of places are "a short walk to the beach." Twin fin is right there. Rental cars in the lobby and easy drop off. You might wait a while to get your car in the morning, but be patient. The Avis guy is super nice. Breakfast is only $25 and the breakfast spot is one of the nicest views ever! Staff is amazing and very friendly. They text you when you check in and were extremely helpful with anything we asked for. You get two beach chairs and an umbrella from Beach Candy every day, and the BC people are also very nice and friendly. The price is great and although there are nicer hotels, the price is about double, so we were able to enjoy a longer stay.

Arrived and was instantly disappointed. When booking the hotel I was mislead to believe there was valet and non-valet parking. When I arrived, I was told they only offer valet parking at $54/day; the non-valet parking is street parking which is impossible to find and also meter parking. I sucked it up handed over the keys and heading to the 3rd floor to check in. That is where I was told about the $400 resort fee. Wow...another cost that I was not told at the time of booking. Still, I was not gonna let this ruin my first visit to Hawaii. A few hours later, I messaged for the car like I was told and received a message that the car would be ready in 10 minutes. The time came and no car, I waited another 10 minutes or so and finally inquired about how much longer it would take. I was told that they were short staffed and that if I wanted the car I could walk with the attendant to get it. I didn't have much of an option as I had reservations that I had to get to. I followed the attendant through the back which included walking past mattresses (not sure if they were soiled or not) and also past laundry waiting to be washed along with some type of chemical smell. As I'm walking behind the scenes of the hotel, I'm asking myself, "this is what $54/day gets me??" When I checked out my total with the resort fee and parking was close to $900 (total of 7 night). The hotel experience was not worth the extra $900. On the positive, the hotel provided a great view of the ocean and I liked the location as it was less crowded due to it being at the end of the main strip. Also, the housekeeper that was assigned to my floor was extremely helpful and friendly.

We booked this hotel because it was affordable and right across the street from the beach. At check in we were offered to upgrade our city view room to a partial ocean view room for $25 per day, and the stunning view to the beach and the sunsets was absolutely worth it. We were on the 21st floor, and it was very quiet up there with a pleasant breeze on the balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we paid attention to the explanation on how to use the elevators. ( We had read the reviews stating that the elevators were confusing.) The room and bathroom fulfilled its purpose for us. If room size, fancy furniture, walk in shower is important to you, then you need to book a more expensive hotel. We had a question for the front desk twice and they answered the phone both times immediately. The pool area is nice, not too big and in the shade until the afternoon. We always found two empty chairs. It definitely was an enjoyable stay at the Twin Fin.

I’m an independent travel agent and all I can be happy about it that this was booked for myself and not a client. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in a touristy area. Our first room reeked of mold and mildew. We were going to let this go and then figured out we had no hot water. When we went to the front and asked to switch rooms we were told they were full and their hot water boilers were out but being worked on and they could offer us a courtesy room to shower in. Of course we declined this. We were told the water would be hot by 11pm. I pushed and was able to get a different room the next day. At 4am we still had no hot water and were told to just let it run. We were given another room the next day and although the smell was slightly better, it was filthy!! The sheer curtains had black mold all over them, there was still candy crumbs on the chair, and when we attempted to lock the safety lock it pulled out of the door. Thank goodness this was only 2 nights of our vacation because all they would refund us was our resort fees. The only reason they are getting any stars is because the staff was all very friends and tried to be as helpful as possible and it is a good location. Long store short, DO NOT stay here!!

Check in was fast and pleasant - we were up on 20th floor and had a fantastic view of the beach and sunset(s) Our room was very clean, yes on the smaller side but who spends time in the room whilst on vacation- the beds comfy and plenty of hot water. room service was every other day but we had no issue grabbing the housekeeper and exchanging towels/wash clothes. Location fantastic walking distance to everything but tucked away near the zoo so it was much quieter and across from a great beach - Resort fee was high but not bad considering beach chairs, surf or SUP Boards, snorkel equipment etc. They also have free activities we did the star gazing, i am not much into that stuff but admit it was really cool... The pool served its purpose as we just used it when we got back from a day at the beach. pool was clean, good temp and no problem with chairs ------Elevator's were slow and the restaurant /bar on site TIKKIS is not associated with the hotel so no room charges ( which was a bummer because we don't bring cash /cars to pool area or the beach ) Rent a car for the day tour the north shore - would def recommend this hotel

While the location of this hotel is ideal, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We got a great deal for about $250 per night (Black Friday deal), including resort fees and taxes, and stayed in an oceanfront room. For this price, I would recommend the hotel, but I wouldn’t pay much more to stay here. Our toilet broke at one point which they fixed pretty quickly. Our TV never worked (we didn’t ask for them to fix it bc we were out and about the whole time) and the phone didn’t work great either. The rooms were pretty clean though a bit dusty and the bed was comfortable. I think this hotel could be great with some TLC. We enjoyed the Tiki restaurant (great views) onsite and the spectacular sunsets from the balcony. I find most hotels on the Hawaiian islands to be overpriced, and this was no exception. Again, it has a lot going for it in terms of location. You can walk to the main part of Waikiki in 7 to 10 minutes, but you’re out of the thick of it. If you can get a good deal, it’s worth a stay for the location.

Both check-in, and check-out, were fast and the desk clerks were friendly. Our 6th floor ocean view room was great. The elevators required a keycard to use and the area felt safe. Although not a resort, a great location in the heart of Waikiki near the zoo. The only negative would be a lack of parking.

We enjoyed our stay at the Twin Fin. It featured an aesthetic, updated design and the partial ocean view of Waikiki from our room was beautiful. The king room was on the small side but nicely decorated and we appreciated the small balcony to have coffee in the morning and enjoy the view. The pool deck was lovely, which striped umbrellas and plenty of loungers. The hotel is on the far end of Waikiki near Kapiolani park, with the beach right across the street. It's also close to the big banyan tree where free hula shows are performed often. The Tiki restaurant at the hotel had a great happy hour with live music and a warm, mellow vibe. One thing we didn't like was the musty smell in the room. It seemed to be coming from the air vent in the bedroom. Luckily we were able to air out the room by keeping the slider open for a while and creating a cross breeze by opening the door to the room which also faced an open air hallway. We were only there 2 nights, but if we were there any longer we would have asked someone to look at it (Room 909, I believe). It was also a little noisy as there was a loading dock for the Marriott across the street that did a daily pick up (not for a long duration though) and a bit of road noise. It was pretty much soundproof with the slider shut, however. Parking was expensive at over $50/night but there are some lower cost options nearby. Overall, it was a fun experience for a short stay.

My Wife and I recently stayed at the Twin Fin for a short getaway for her 30th Birthday, we were very very impressed with our entire stay, Staff where fantastic, location is in my opinion better than the opposite end of the strip as it is not as busy, we upgraded to a partial ocean view and it was incredible sitting on the balcony just taking in the view we were given, it is an older Hotel and the price and some reviews do reflect that but if you want 5 star then pay 5 star. We will definitely be back

What a fantastic location! Right across from the beach, and an easy walk to so many things! Okay yes, it's a little dated, and I've thought about that a lot. I'm not at a hotel in Hawaii to hang out in the hotel hallway, or even the room for that matter. Dated yes, but also clean. Absolutely no issues with cleanliness. Our room was small (king bed) but again, I'm not in Hawaii to hang out in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. We had plenty of clean towels. We requested an extra blanket, and it was delivered promptly. I kind of wish that there was a chair in the room, but there were two chairs on the balcony! And here I go again, I'm not in Hawaii to hang out in the room! We reserved a city-view room, and were assigned a room overlooking the pool and the Tiki Bar. We had NO problems with noise AT ALL. In fact, I would call the room "partial ocean view", because I could sit on that balcony and watch the ocean! People were regularly using the pool, and seemed happy with it. There are lots of lounge chairs out there, and there always seemed to be availability. We got the rental car and parking package, and picked up the rental car at the airport when we arrived. Definitely the right choice, because we avoided the long line at the Avis counter at the hotel. And although we reserved a compact car, we got a free upgrade to a full size! The valet staff was all excellent. I'm not sure if I'll get to Hawaii again, but if I did, I would certainly consider staying here again.

Had to get a fan from maintenance as our AC didn’t work well and was hot and humid in our room to the point my husband didn’t sleep well our whole stay. Also, two hours after we checked out I received a text from the hotel that I had forfeited my $500 deposit as the “sensor” in the room detected we had conveniently smoked mere minutes before we left for the final time after no issues with that all week. I nor my husband smoke-THC, nicotine, vape, etc. We gladly asked for THC and nicotine testing as we knew we had not smoked in the room, but of course was denied that and told tough luck. The manager, Amber, then called security as she didn’t like us asking questions and could not give us any answers would just say “I can’t make those decisions.”

The location is the best part. The view from our ocean front was beautiful, and we spent several hours just siting on our balcony staring at the water. The walk to the beach was literally straight across one street, super convenient. We liked that you could check out three complimentary beach items, so we got 2 chairs and an umbrella most of the time we were there. The room was perfectly adequate, what you would expect from a regular hotel. The shampoo and stuff were all pineapple scented which was nice. You could walk to anywhere in Waikiki in 10-20 minutes. If we come back to Oahu, this is where we will stay again!
