Reviews of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort
Comfortable beds, peaceful and quiet. Good sleep! Welcoming, friendly staff are there when needed, never in the way. The Gem & Keystone Restaurant impressed us with a very good dinner in a lovely atmosphere. The Shawnee Brewery did not disappoint! Both food and drinks were great!
The Inn is located on a beautiful spot on the river and near Shawnee ski area.

The Inn is located on a beautiful spot on the river. We had a great time at the Murder Mystery Dinner. Tara and Sydney helped make our stay one to remember. Nearby tubing and ski area Shawnee was fun. Thank you, look forward to another visit. The main Inn is older but very unique, there are newer options on the property if you prefer. Plenty of options for eating, they even have a small take out coffee type shop.

I purchased a golf package, upgraded the room and the wife canceled her spa time to enjoy the course layout. Bamm!!
As a golf enthusiast come early, they have a little museum that displays the history of the course that added to my rounds excitement. You’re playing the same course US presidents played, PGA tournaments were played. It’s an active country club, members get 27 holes of pristine golf with excellent amenities.
For my wife, who doesn’t play golf I may add, ask “when is the next time I plan on doing this”, I felt it necessary to share.

We just got back from a 4 day stay at the Shawnee. The place is nice although very outdated rooms but we upgraded so we had more room. We did the morning hike, golf cart tour, history tour and went canoeing and had massages. All
were fantastic and the guides were terrific. The front desk were nice but sometimes if you ask them something, they didn’t have any idea. We did ask for a fan because it was hot this week and we never got one and since it was the last night we didn’t even care. We also tried to get a drink at the river room waited by the bar and the bartender told us it was going to be a long wait because he had a lot of people so we decided to wait by the table and it was like we were invisible, so after 20 min we just left. There is absolutely nothing to do there past 6 PM. They do have s’mores at night. But other than that, it’s very quiet. They have a nice porch to relax. The brewery and the Gem and Keystone were good places to eat. The golf course is also beautiful.

I really was looking forward to my stay at Shawnee Inn. My wife and I planned a one night getaway for my birthday. Let me say this the atmosphere did not disappoint. The architecture and history of the inn was great. The golf course was fantastic and I can’t wait to play it again. My biggest issues where when it came to the room. The bed was an older spring style that was uncomfortable to sleep on. Also the climate control in the room was an issue. It was too warm and when I tried to lower it, it got warmer.

Enjoyed dining on the Gem and Keystone deck. The bartender made great Moscow Mules. The chili was tasty and burgers were perfect.
The Brewery serves very good pizza. Fun atmosphere.
Breakfast in River Room was quite good. Lingered a while looking outside through large, clean windows.
Two new things for us this trip.
The Jackie Gleason Museum contained many interesting artifacts. Of special interest were the items belonging to Mr. Southington. Many books of newspaper article to look through. The Curator was informative and available for questions.
The Renovated Bathroom is very well done, spotless and the space is efficient to use. Thank you, Shawnee Inn.

We went for a golf weekend. The golf course was in exceptional condition. We had a one night stay and enjoyed our time very much. The resort gave us a nostalgic vibe. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The resort had daily complimentary activities to the guest which was an added bonus. There was live music in the evening which was amazing along with the s’mores around the camp fire. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Lots of potential. Not up to date

Shawnee has all the ingredients for a first class resort. Unfortunately, it falls short.
On the positive side, it’s conveniently close to NYC, NJ and Philadelphia. The golf course, an A.W. Tillinghast design, is very enjoyable. It’s in good condition, although the greens are very slow. We enjoyed our meal at the Gem and Keystone Tavern. The pretzel and cheddar beer dip was delish. The breakfast buffet is adequate. Nothing special, but something for everyone.
The hotel is old and wants for refurbishing. Unfortunately, I don’t think the number of guests allows them to renovate. It appears to me that the golf course, which has private members, keeps the place afloat. Our room was tiny. We had a modernized bathroom, about the size of a cruise ship facility. The dresser was inadequate for 2 people and one drawer wouldn’t stay closed. We didn’t spend much time in the room..
Shawnee has lots of outdoor amenities: pitch and putt, outdated tennis courts (lined for pickleball, but using tennis net 👎🏻), canoeing and kayaking and a putting green in front of the hotel. We took the 3 mile kayaking trip. The Delaware River is placid and very shallow. Nice leisurely paddle.
It seems like a perfect location for a casino. Not sure what it would take.

I recently experienced my first stay at Shawnee Resort and was thoroughly impressed! I discovered a fantastic golf package that was well worth the price. The package included a stay in a queen room at the main, historic inn, complete with an updated bathroom, a round of golf for two, a bottle of wine, and a complimentary breakfast in the morning.
The historic inn exudes charm, retaining many of its original features. While some may find these aspects outdated, they truly enhance the unique atmosphere of the place. The resort's beautiful setting further adds to its appeal.
The golf course was in excellent condition, even though it was bustling with visitors for Father's Day weekend. The staff were exceptionally friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Guests can choose from an onsite brewery and various restaurants, along with a range of scheduled activities suitable for everyone. It was a wonderful overnight getaway that we thoroughly enjoyed!

We had a wonderful time at Shawnee Inn over the Memorial Weekend! It was an impromptu trip and we were very lucky that we were able to secure a room. The front desk staff were very helpful and even upgraded us to a room with a king size bed. The surroundings are breathtaking and the Inn has so many dining options and activities available you practically don't have to leave. We did venture off property for my husband to fish for trout and for us to take in some of the beautiful waterfalls in the Delaware Water Gap National Park. We will certainly be back.

To begin with the reservation was incorrect. Had us in a room with two beds. They changed it to a room with a King size bed. 1st floor. The mattress was like sleeping on a box springs. The ceiling over the bed had huge stains on it. The paint in the bathroom was chipping all around the window and there were ceiling stains and chipped paint on the ceiling. NO HOT WATER. Let the hotel know and they still did nothing about it. The toilet in the bathroom didn't flush. Let them know about that and they fixed it but I think it must have overflowed because the floor had water on it, and it smelled. Bugs came in through the bathroom window. The pool had danger tape all around it and closed. The fitness center had mostly broken machines. Many live spiders due to a lack of dusting. Only stayed one night and checked out early. The Inn is very old and needs a lot of renovation.
