Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Comfortable, well appointed room. The lobby bar is a great place to relax and view the harbor. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again! Highly recommend it.

The dinners at Tides were magnificent, with imaginative, superb food and drink. The manager and chef frequently visit diners to ensure everything is perfect. I honestly don’t even know where to begin because I loved everything about our stay at The Reykjavik EDITION. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was a truly special experience, one I will never forget. From the moment we arrived until the second we left, everything was absolutely perfect. First and foremost, Alejandra deserves the biggest thank you. Even before our trip, she went above and beyond to help us plan the perfect itinerary, ensuring we had the best experiences Iceland has to offer. She made everything so effortless for us, taking care of every little detail so we never had to worry about a thing. Her recommendations were incredible, and her kindness and positivity made this trip even more special. She is truly exceptional, and a huge reason why this was the most memorable hotel stay of my life. When we arrived, Coco welcomed us with such warmth and attentiveness. We casually mentioned that we wanted to try Icelandic marriage cake, and the next day, it was waiting in our room—such an incredibly thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us. And then there were Themis and Duda—honestly, I don’t even know how to put into words how wonderful they were. Their energy, warmth, and attentiveness made every interaction a joy. They always went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and their genuine kindness made such an impact on our experience. The entire team was just incredible. Christine made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, always ensuring that we had the best experience possible. Eva and Leonor at the front desk were so accommodating and genuinely kind, always ready to assist with a smile and make our stay feel even more special. Their dedication to service made everything feel effortless. The culinary experience at the hotel was just as impressive. Every meal at Tides was exceptional, not just because of the incredible food but also because of the welcoming atmosphere and the people who made it special. We loved meeting Sozon, whose kindness and positive energy made an already great experience even better. And beyond Tides, the drinks across all four bars were some of the best we’ve had—each cocktail crafted to perfection, making every evening feel like an experience of its own. Honestly, there is not a single thing I could criticize. The Reykjavik EDITION has set the bar impossibly high, and this stay will forever be one of my most cherished travel memories. The Edition is in a convenient location of Reykjavik. We were able to walk everywhere and when we needed to meet a tour bus, bus stop 5 was a quick 2 minute walk. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The view of the harbor was an added bonus! Staff were friendly and extremely helpful when we had a question or needed something. I would highly recommend this hotel. We had no complaints at all.

The Reykjavik Edition hotel was comfortable, clean, perfectly located and VERY welcoming. The thing that set this hotel apart from many others we’ve stayed at is the staff! Everyone, and I mean everyone, from the door greeters, to the front desk, to housekeeping and the lobby bartenders, were very engaging, friendly and welcoming. The staff seemed to work very hard to engage in conversation with us, asking us questions while they provided exceptional service. Special shout-outs to Isaac, Themis, Weronica and Sandro. One evening, Themis even went out of his way to ask us where we were going for dinner. When we told him we were going to Messinn, he said, “Oh, my friend works there, I will give him a call”. When we arrived at the Messinn restaurant, we were greeted warmly and provided with a complimentary drink! We will definitely come back to this Edition hotel.

Fantastic customer service from the minute you walk in the door (staff are posted at the revolving door to spin it for you, lol!) The rooms facing the water are absolutely gorgeous. Of course, we were there in January so there wasn't daylight until nearly 11am, but the lights of buildings and ships along the harbor were beautiful. Location is perfect, walking distance from everything in town including "American Bar" if you find yourself in Iceland during the NFL playoffs and need a place to watch the game. Yes, it is expensive. EVERYTHING in Iceland is expensive! But you'll get your money's worth here with the fantastic rooms and location that can't be beat.

The vibe is stylish but very calm. Our rate included dinner and breakfast - both were wonderful. We were worried the restaurant would feel pretentious, but we felt welcome and relaxed, despite severe jet lag. The hotel (supposedly) has a wonderful spa. After a very cold, soaking boat tour, we changed and headed to the spa. Upon arriving, the attendant scoffed and told us that we weren’t allowed to use the spa on our departure day. This seems like a very strange, hostile policy and left us with a bad taste as we left the hotel.

Staying at The Reykjavik Edition has been nothing short of amazing. The hotel is right next to Harpa and downtown Reykjavik is easily accessible, same with tour pick ups as well. The rooms are lovely, spacious, and clean. The guest experiences staff are attentive and efficient, they helped us a couple of times when we need something in our room or even just to get some information around town. The Edition spa was a lovely relaxing experience and I highly suggest you use their hammam during your stay with them. We are already planning our stay in Reykjavik for next year with my family, and we will be staying at The Edition once again, Indre and her team are spectacular and makes every stay special.

Disappointing Experience: Poor Service and Communication My stay at this hotel was underwhelming, and unfortunately, several aspects of the experience were disappointing enough to warrant a review. These may sound petty, but given we were there for 10 days and that the cost was over $1k a day, I would expect a LOT more for the price. While there were some positive moments (such as the beauty of the space), the overall service and communication fell far short of expectations. Valet Issues: 1) We waited more then 20 minuets every time we requested our car. Every single time... even to the point where twice we had the front desk folks commenting, oh your still waiting? This is odd given the parking is right next to the door. Also of note - it was NOT busy, otherwise I would have been happy to wait. Room Cleaning Issues: 1) Room Service Inconsistencies: Your website mentions twice-daily cleaning, but our room went uncleaned for the first two days. Only the coffee was replenished during that time. The bed wasn’t made, and trash cans were overflowing. It was puzzling that the coffee replenishment staff didn’t notify housekeeping to clean the room when they saw the state it was in. 2) Tissue Supply Neglected: We ran out of tissues on the first day and they weren’t replaced for two days. On the third day, instead of replenishing the box, the tissue holder was simply removed from our room entirely. I had to request a box from the front desk, and even after that, when the box ran out, it took multiple calls to get a replacement again. 3) Unattended Glassware: We had wine glasses removed but never replaced, meaning we couldn’t use them again. Additionally, used coffee cups were left in the room for days without being cleared away. This lack of attention to detail was frustrating. Rooftop Bar NYE Celebration: 1) Vegetarian Meal Confusion: Before booking, I confirmed with your concierge that I would need a vegetarian meal, and my husband would have the standard meat menu. However, when we arrived, the server had no record of this and seemed confused. Both meals delivered were vegetarian at first, and after multiple corrections, my husband was given a few pieces of cod. He missed out on the duck, steak tartare, and prawns that were originally detailed in the very pricy NYE prefix champagne tasting menu. It was a major disappointment, and the food quality didn’t match the high price. 2) Champagne Service: We were each given one glass of champagne, and the manager kindly stored the remainder in the fridge for us. However, when we went to leave, the cork had been pushed back in improperly, and the stopper was missing. It took multiple conversations with staff to get the champagne topper replaced, which felt unnecessary and frustrating, especially for such a small item. Communication and Concierge Issues: Before we even arrived, my experience with your concierge service was frustrating. When I initially asked about New Year’s Eve events, I was told there were no on-site activities, and thus I made offsite reservations based on that information. Later, I received an email stating that the hotel was in fact hosting New Year’s Eve activities. I would have preferred to have known earlier to avoid the additional effort I put into researching and making external plans. Additionally, I requested help with contacting a local restaurant due to time zone differences and language barriers. Your concierge failed to assist properly, even providing incorrect information that the restaurant in question was not hosting a prefix meal for NYE. When I pointed out that the restaurant had a New Year’s Eve special (which even had its own dedicated website link on the restaurants home page), the response was dismissive and I was told to email the restaurant myself. Conclusion: While the hotel has potential, the level of service we experienced did not meet expectations for a hotel of this caliber and this significant cost. From room cleaning issues to poor communication with the concierge and frustrating dining experiences, it’s clear that improvements need to be made in both service consistency and staff training. I hope management takes these concerns seriously to improve the guest experience in the future.

I really wanted to love this hotel but it fell short. It was missing character. I can’t quite figure out what. Maybe for a 5 star hotel it lacked a few things like no welcome treat unlike other edition or similar hotels. Also the toilet paper here is rough. All the toilet paper in Iceland seems a little hard but the ones at edition were by far the hardest ones we had out of the 4 hotels we stayed at while on vacation. Our room had enough space, we had a sitting area, a king size bed and a nice bathroom. Staff were friendly but we probably will skip this hotel next time. I still give it a low 4 stars since we had no issues except missing some sort of je ne sais quoi.

Had an AMAZING stay here! Booked through AMEX as a Fine Hotel—got a King Bed Loft! The room was huge, super spacious enough for 2 ppl, with a huge dining table bench and a living area with couch!! Room was clean and bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious too—shower/bathtub separate from the toilet area. Service here was EXCELLENT—concierge, bellman, bartenders, etc. were all so friendly and helpful. Valet parking was straightforward and didn’t take long for our car to come. The lobby bar is pretty and good place for cocktails and light bites! Price to stay here is on the expensive side but it really did feel like a 5-star hotel!

The hotel was stunning and the location was perfect for exploring Reykjavik. We could walk everywhere. I would highly recommend as a "home base" if you are planning to take day trips out to explore the Golden Circle. The staff at Tides Restaurant were exceptional.

The service and rooms were fantastic. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Great food and great bar. Spa was first class and the fitness center was great. Beds were extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed every part of our stay in your hotel.

The Tides restaurant had some great food options but as you would expect in Iceland it was very pricey!! The bar area for a cocktail and snack is the nicest place to sit for a drink but the front door opens and lets cold air through often. Staff very friendly and helpful with our questions about tours etc. I sadly didn’t use the underground spa area but cabin crew had recommended a visit and if they say it’s good it did look very restful and beautifully decorated.

Room would continue to get hotter despite it being rather cold outside. Took several calls to get this sorted - Blackout curtains let in far too much light at the tops and bottoms of the floor-to-ceiling windows; this was rough during the summer solstice - Not many places to put stuff — ended up with clothes and suitcases scattered around the floor

This hotel was amazing. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in June. We used this hotel was Marriott BonVoy Points and Nightly Award. The corner suite was amazing with heated bathroom floors, luxurious bath tub and shower. Ben at the front desk was very welcoming and answered any questions we had during the stay. The housekeeping team was great and kept the room spotless. We dined at the lobby bar which was the biggest disappointment. It is no where reflective of the hotel restaurant which is much better! Overall we would stay here again for a shorter stay as we want to explore different parts of the country in the future!

It would be impossible to beat the location, right in the Reykjavik harbor. We arrived around 10:30 AM and the front desk arranged for an early check in (we are platinum Marriott Bonvoy) and felt appreciated that they recognized the status, which not all properties do. Service was top notch - for example, we didn't see an ice bucket in the room, called the front desk, and a bucket full of ice was delivered to our room in 5 minutes. Room and bed was very comfortable, room had climate control as well as a window that opened so we could get some fresh Icelandic air in the room. Spa area is relaxing. I was behind on packing the night before we left and we opted to cancel our dinner rese and eat at the hotel restaurant. I thought we would be compromising, however the food and service was outstanding; I got to enjoy perfectly cooked Icelandic lamb on our last night. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

No recognition as Titanium member in any respect. The hotel is well located to see downtown and drive out of town. The rooms are nice but not spectacular. I did like having a patio on our room. The breakfast buffett is average but over priced. The destination fee is a joke and completely unnecessary. Overall, this is probably the nicest hotel in downtown but that allows it to slide a bit from other Editions I’ve stayed at in Europe.

No problem. This was expected. What wasn't expected was 5 hours later we return from a tour to find the Hotel handing out rooms to everyone in line! We never received a text message. When we get to the desk, they tell us our room is still not ready!! We said this is not acceptable as we were literally the third in line that morning. THEY GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY. We were then given the handicap room!!! This room was not comfortable for a couple! We did not get the room we paid for and that room by no means was an upgrade. This was the worst 5 star hotel I've ever stayed in. Will never go back. Will never stay at an Edition hotel and will never ever recommend.

Warm, friendly, informative check-in with Kevin. He went out of his way to see that everything was taken care of, that we understood all, and that we were comfortable and happy. We met Kevin several more times during our 6 day stay and each time he greeted us by name and asked if he could help us in any way. The room was spacious, well-lit, beautifully furnished, quiet and comfortable, with a lovely view of the harbor. The housekeeping staff did a perfect job each day, with everything looking clean, crisp and precise when we returned to our room. The coffee machine in the room made several cups daily of delicious specialty coffee that tasted just as if the barista had served us. The common area was lively but not loud, busy but not chaotic, with comfortable seating and staff attentive to our needs. Perhaps the best aspect of Reykjavik Edition was the restaurant. Hostesses Borda and Anita were simply outstanding. They were efficient, charming, perfectly at ease and conveyed the attitude that their only care was to arrange a lovely meal, at precisely the time, and absolutely the table we most wanted. The menu was varied, with numerous delicious local specialties offered. Particularly delicious were langoustine croquettes which we watched the chefs prepare one day. Arctic char was mild, perfectly seasoned, and done to perfection with the slightest hint of moisture in the middle. Victor was a friendly, helpful, gracious dining room server. Igor was an efficient maitre d’hotel, with a friendly, personable approach. Anita the dining room hostess mentioned above particularly helped us have a most wonderful visit to Iceland. Her longtime family home is in the Vestman Islands and she provided us information, in great detail, on how to get there, by car and ferry, what to do there, and a lovely cafe in which to eat lunch. She also helped us find activities in Reykjavik that were interesting and fun. On our next-to-last day at the Edition, Anita asked us to please stop by the hostess stand before we left, to say goodbye to her, which we did. This is a luxury hotel, in every sense of the word.

We used points to stay, so we didn't mind, but I would only stay again if price was reasonable.

I was very disappointed with our experience. We are Titanium Marriott customers and used approximately 200,000 points for our 2 night stay. When we checked out we were charged approximately $460 for each night. When I asked about it, we were told that we requested an upgrade which I explained that we did not request and certainly would never have agreed to pay $460 above the 200,000 points we were using. Generally we are treated better when we stay at Marriott properties such as getting perks or free upgrades or bonus points but we did not get any of these things. We will not be recommending this hotel to other people. It is a very nice hotel but it is certainly not worth that much money.
