This cozy, rustic lodge is located in the quiet hills away from the hubbub of Gatlinburg. It was the perfect spot from which to base our visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! The room was comfortable and the balcony view was stunning. Restaurants are 10-15 minutes away, but there is a full kitchen to warm up or prepare a meal, if you prefer. A wonderful alternative to the abundance of chain hotels in this busy town!

Was surprised at first with the booking process and limited information on the suites. Only after booking did I hear about the near total loss of the original resort to the Gatlinburg fires a few years back. This place must have been a real wonder prior to the fires. Anyways, had a great experience with a suite that was better than anything you'd find in town.
One neat bonus was watching the Oder Mountain ski carriages go up the mountain at night all lit up. They snaked in between the trees and would pop into view periodically while sitting on the back patio.
Would definitely book here again. Can't wait to see if they rebuild in the next few years.

We decided to book our stay at Buckberry Creek because we wanted our experience in Gatlinburg and the Great Smokey Mountain area to be quaint and authentic. Our decision to stay here was perfect for us! It exceeded our expectations! It was exceptionally clean. Coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening with breathtaking views! Very serene and quiet and everything we needed for our 5 night stay was provided already without constant room service interruption. If needed, we did have a phone number to contact anytime. Helen was welcoming on the phone as we booked and very kind as we saw her one afternoon during our stay. You knew she took pride in the lodge and was very concerned that we were happy. The fresh cut flowers that welcomed us is just one example. Highly recommend staying here! We already look forward to returning here in the fall to enjoy the change of season!

The “manager” of the small building they still have left was extremely unhelpful and vey passive aggressive. I don’t know if it’s because they have such a small building left after the fire that they don’t care about their customers anymore. This place is already overpriced considering what is left. I paid $675 for two nights. I wanted the cabin like experience with the fire place they offer in every room that is why I stayed here over a normal hotel. I am from Florida and solely booked this hotel of all places for the fireplace and cabin like feel. My boyfriend and I had been looking forward the most to sitting by the fire place with blankets and wine. As soon as I self- checked in (this is the only option now), I read the instructions to start the fire place they have provided and it did not work. I called the number they left to call if it does not work, which is the manager and she said she would try to get someone out that day, (it was 4pm), and said it will probably have to be tomorrow though. I asked her if we could switch to a different room and she said no they are full, however the whole weekend there was never more than two cars in the lot and that building holds at least 20 rooms. The next day she did not contact us at all. I messaged her again at 8pm and she completely disregarded my disappointment. She did not offer a partial refund and did not even have a sincere apology. She was extremely passive aggressive and clearly did not care about anything having to do with customers or the building. The fireplace was covered in dust everywhere. They do not keep up with the property. So upsetting and disappointing.

No restaurant on property
Great place about 1 mile from downtown Gatlinburg. East access to the many trails of the national park. Room is clean with kitchenette, sofa and cafe table with a small patio. However, there is not a restaurant on property. The restaurant burned in the fire and has not been rebuilt.
Was very Beautiful. They should let everyone know that there is only one building left since fire and no still has not been rebuilt. Still smells like smoke on balcony other than that the building has comfortable rooms and it's more like a self check in now not a lodge.

After the cabin we rented was a bust, we called the lodge looking for an alternative. They had a room available which turned out to be 100% perfect. We wanted some place quiet but that had plenty of space. Our room had a full kitchen, private fireplace, private balcony, bedroom and 4-piece bathroom that included a jetted soaker tub. The property lacks some of the once available amenities that they lost in the fire in 2016 but it lent to the solitude this place offers. Most, if not all, of the rooms in the only building still standing were booked but it’s such a quiet location that it felt like we were in the secluded cabin we originally intended on staying in. The lodge is also a very short drive to town as well as right down the road from Ober Gatlinburg. The room was clean, and did have a unique smell. Not a musty smell, but almost woodsy like a cabin. It’s honestly the type of place you feel comfortable in and makes you sad to leave. The current property manager is super friendly and was quite helpful during our stay. We will stay here again if we ever make it back to Gatlinburg and would recommend it to anyone who asks.

We stayed here for 8 days and had a great time! The view of the mountains from our balcony was spectacular and changed by the hour! Our suite included a king bed which was incredibly comfortable, jacuzzi tub and large walk in shower. We had a full kitchen which made putting on a crockpot dinner so easy while we toured the beautiful surroundings. And the gas fireplace was the icing on the cake. We loved it and plan to return next year.

The Lodge at Buckberry Creek was a lovely quiet haven from the horrors of gatlinburg and pigeon forge. It’s super close to the national park, the rooms are big & comfortable. Due to the very sad fire occurring in 2017, the lodge no longer has restaurant or bar facilities but Cindy left recommendations with us for local places that delivered and you can also cook in your studio. It’s really heartbreaking to see what damage was done to the lodge but they still have beautiful views and gave great southern hospitality. I really hope the family rebuilds!

This is our second year staying at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek. Yet again it was a perfect experience. Cindy was so accommodating and made our trip effortless and absolutely wonderful. Something that is wonderful about this lodge is not only the views but the customer service. It is a very personal experience and it makes you feel special and valued. We were able to use the firepit during this stay and listening to the crackling fire and enjoying the crisp mountain air...priceless. We stayed in the exact same room as last year and I am just obsessed with it. You feel like you're so far away but really you're just 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. Even though there is only one building currently due to the 2016 fires, I couldn't have asked for better. It is truly a gem and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you stay here if you're looking for that rustic feel with a beautiful mountain view. We also got lucky it snowed on Sunday! Talk about beautiful!

We absolutely loved our time at the Lodge! A gorgeous view even on the ground level overlooking Mount LeConte! Loved sitting a sipping coffee or wine on our private deck surrounded by mountains beauty! Cute decor and clean room. Loved the fireplace and spa tub! Might need a bigger water heater though. Since the restaurant and other parts of the property burned down, it is ran more like a vrbo. So no daily room service or breakfast but was not a problem for us at all. Full small kitchen with anything we needed and centrally located to hit any nearby restaurant. Cindy was great and we had everything that we needed. The only thing I wish were different, was the bed. Not horrible, but was definitely glad to get back to my Serta at home. But otherwise, couldn’t have asked for more! Can’t wait to go back! And look forward to staying when the lodge is all rebuilt!
