At the center of Savannah’s rich history and exquisite architecture is The Kehoe House, which regularly ranks at the top of the best honeymoon destinations in the city. Built by William Kehoe in 1892, the property has enjoyed a storied history, having once been owned by football legend Joe Namath and undergoing a significant two-year renovation that was completed in 1992. Now an award-winning bed and breakfast, the building has been carefully maintained throughout the years to our present day.
The Savannah staple has long been a favorite for honeymooning couples thanks to a variety of luxurious, private rooms that seamlessly blend history with modern comforts. The private balcony kings – like the house favorite Johnny Mercery Room – include a private veranda, palatial king bed, and private bath. Or consider the Oglethorpe or Russell Fiore rooms, which feature picturesque views of Columbia Square. Regardless of your choice, the quiet, large rooms are perfect for romantic evenings and comfortably unwinding after an exciting day in the bustling city. Plus, after waking up in the heart of the city after a restful night’s sleep, you’ll be treated to a Savannah-style gourmet breakfast that is the perfect start to any morning.
Honeymoon couples will definitely want to consider the Savannah Honeymoon Package, which includes a private carriage ride through the city, chilled champagne, and exclusive robes for prime relaxation after your romantic experience. There are also a number of elopement and wedding packages for couples that want to utilize the gorgeous grounds for a one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony as well.
Even the communal spaces in the bed and breakfast are the epitome of coziness, with antique furniture and stunning artwork perfectly accentuating the location’s rich history. Romance seems to color each and every aspect of the historic bed and breakfast, making The Kehoe House honeymoon a wonderful choice for couples looking for a quiet vantage point to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer.

We have stayed four years in a row on our way to Florida. It’s 15 minutes off #95 but well worth it. We would have stayed there on our way north but there was a two night minimum on the return. It’s an experience whereas staying at a roadside hotel is not. Room was lovely. We arrived in time for the afternoon wine and cheese reception in their elegant living space. Breakfast was great. I am happy to report they were more flexible than in our earlier visits. My wife and I were able to share one egg plate and extra fruit granola and yogurt. No waste and healthy.

We went just to enjoy staying at the House and were blown away by the beauty of it! If you go, try to go at Christmas! There is a huge Christmas tree downstairs. My husband and I read by the Christmas tree late into the night while the fire roared. It was so much fun having unlimited sodas and delicious dessert, happy hour, and breakfast! We stayed in the Fiore room and it was beautiful—we could see the Davenport House from our bathroom! We barely saw other guests—it often felt like we were the only ones there even though it was a full house. Our balcony had beautiful, soft Christmas lights as well. Romantic and absolutely magical!!!

This B&B is top 2 in the 6 we've stayed at within GA and FL. Bed was very comfortable. The 5'oclock hour was the highlight of our day - to hear from all our new friends on where they went and what the dinner plans were and to enjoy wine.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kehoe House. It was conveniently located to the river and to the City Market. Breakfast was great each day - more food than I could eat in one sitting. Robert was always very nice and polite while he was serving us. The snacks, drinks, desserts, and cookies were much appreciated. The nearby parking lot was a huge plus, too. We enjoyed spending a few evenings at Columbia Square watching the tour groups (trolley / horse carriage) and ghost tours go by.
The Kehoe House was everything I wanted in a kid-free getaway for our 25th anniversary. We met other couples also celebrating their anniversaries. We were some of the only local (to Georgia) folks there. We got to hear about the history of Kehoe House our first evening there via Mike.
While we didn't go upstairs, the basement area was spacious for us -- with easy access to go in and out via the courtyard. Our room (Emma Kelly) was huge and comfortable. I slept better there than I ever have away from home. The water heater in the bathroom area was loud nearly 24/7 -- but shutting the door helped at night. There were a few nights we could hear someone in the parlor above us at night and dishes clinking while work was being done in the wee hours of the morning (2am - 4am), but it was a minor thing overall since I know work didn't stop just because it was night time. But, it may be quieter staying in one of the rooms upstairs, if that's important to you. The Kelly room did have a jetted tub -- and I took a few relaxing baths to help soothe my poor, tired feet after long days of walking.

My fiance and I decided that we wanted an intimate wedding with just the two of us. After much research , we settled on The Kehoe House in Savannah, GA.
Since we live in West Tennessee, it meant all planning would have to be done long distance. As promised by their website, that turned out to be a non-issue. Rita Wilson , our event coordinator, made herself totally available and responsive to my every request and question.
The Kehoe House staff was the epitome of southern hospitality! Our check-in was seamless, and meals were delicious. My wedding? PERFECT !! I'm forever grateful!!

After reading the reviews below, I felt like I stayed in a different place. Yes, the house was beautiful and well kept. Our room was well appointed. When I stay at a B & B, however, I think of a homey, friendly place run by a family. This was not the case. The front staff were 20 somethings more interested in their phones than us. I would have liked to learn the history of the house which no one talked about. They did have a historian one night, but we were not told about it or invited to listen when we came into the parlor. He spoke to one table at the other end. We thought that group had hired him. The staff did their jobs but were not helpful. One night we came back at 9:15 and there was no one at the front desk. I checked in the kitchen and the parlor rooms, but no one was around. I actually was uncomfortable thinking anyone could just walk in. Sorry to say, we truly were disappointed in our experience.

The historic Kehoe House offers the highest value in downtown Savannah, bar none. Our room is so “Olde Savannah.” 12-foot ceilings, in-room fireplace, huge comfortable bed with pillows for days. However, the best thing about the Kehoe House is what you see when you walk up those old steps and into the front door. The warmest, most authentically friendly staff you could imagine. From the front desk to the chef and literally everyone in between, they genuinely want to make you feel totally taken care of while you’re here. Well done y’all. We can’t wait to come back again.

An amazing experience! The attention to personal detail was awesome. The room was great. We had a small veranda that we could sit outside on. The room was well appointed. We got lots of good ideas from the staff and I want to recognize Rita who went above and beyond for us several times. The food was very good and served fresh. They will even bring it out to you on the veranda. Snacks and wine in the afternoon were great and they even serve decent wines! They have a parking lot around the corner which, given the lack of parking in the city, was a big help. Overall we had a wonderful time on our first trip to Savannah and hope to get back there again.
