Dinner at the newly reopened restaurant at the Inn at Thorne Hill was an excellent experience. Food was superb…my husband had Salmon and I had Fillet Mignon…and our server, Heather, was extremely attentive and helpful. Also appreciated the attention from Sherri, the manager. Will definitely go back again.

My wife and I recently ate dinner at the Inn. We were shocked to discover that the Inn was only offering a prix fix menu that night. The Inn did not disclose this when we made the reservations. This probably was because it was Valentine’s Day weekend. Nevertheless, it is incumbent on the Inn to disclose this when reservations are made. Additionally, the service and food were mediocre at best. All this for $90 a head. It all felt like a money grab. A shame as we have had positive experiences there in the past.

We decided to stay at our favorite inn in Jackson NH again. They had a fire last Aug/Sept and several of our favorite spots (bar, restaurant and spa) are not open at this time. However we still wanted to visit. And, I can say that it did not disappoint. Although many of their amenities were not open, they totally made up for it by providing afternoon wine/tea/coffee and treats as well as transportation to their sister property - The Christmas Farm Inn. Located close by, it was easy to go their for the daily breakfast -which was excellent, as well as the bar area. We still got to see some of our favorite employees (James the bartender and David the server) and have some delicious food and drinks. We look forward to the full Inn reopening sometime in later February, and hope to be back soon. Do not hesitate to book!

The hotel stay was fine. Room was clean and comfortable beds. However, 1. the rooms smelled awful upon entering.
2. They didn’t mention anything on the site about the kitchen being burnt down in AUGUST. The site says they offer breakfast AND dinner at the hotel. Instead, when we got there, they told us that we would have to eat at a “sister hotel”. All breakfast reservations for our stay were booked at that sister hotel (which was 20+min walk away up hill), so we feel scammed. We had to go somewhere else entirely. The price of the stay was not discounted to account for this and no advance notice was given: very poor service imo. They had 2 months to update their site description to accurately describe this.

The room was a bit funny with respect to the fireplace and the cooling but we got it to work just fine. The tub and the steam shower were nice and added to the romance which we enjoyed.
The location is not exactly thrilling, but there were views and I guess there was a visit by the black bear family the day we were there! I would put it at pleasant and avoid the elevator :-)
I will say this, the steak I had was not an aged prime but it was good and so it goes.

My husband and I have stayed at the Inn at Thorn Hill every summer for the past 6 years, so I can say with absolute certainty that this place is a GEM! The location, the rooms, and the beauty of the property as a whole keep us coming back every time... but above all else, the staff is absolutely top notch. They treat us, and our friends who join us for drinks/dinner, like family, and are just all-around wonderful people!
This year, we elected to do their wine cellar dining experience with our two closest friends, and it was phenomenal! Christina and James obviously care very much about the food and wine experience at Thorn Hill - every dish was beautifully plated, absolutely DELICIOUS, and perfectly paired with the wines they offered. They even adjusted their menu to accommodate our request for more reds, which was so appreciated! Such a beautiful, personalized experience all around - one we won't soon forget!
Thank you for everything! We can't wait to come back next summer!

The Inn at Thorn Hill is truly a special place nearly surrounded by one of the USA’s magnificent national forests. We came for the fall foliage and left a week later feeling connected to the inn, staff, and village of Jackson.
The Inn is all about serenity and comfort. The staff is courteous and considerate and genuinely seem to enjoy caring for their guests for a brief period before sending them home with an appreciation of New Hampshire’s hearty spirit and natural beauty.
We hope to return to the Inn at Thorn Hill during the summertime and again in the Fall to see Diana’s Baths and to sightsee along the Kancamagus Highway.

I cannot begin to say enough positive things about this establishment and the guest experience they create. We planned to visit the area for our five year wedding anniversary and initially planned to stay at another local property. After one disappointing night, we packed up our bags and drove right over to Thorn Hill, completely changing our entire celebration trip. We had stayed here once before and absolutely should have just planned to stay here from the start.
Our experience began with Amy. The morning we decided to leave the other property, I called Thorn Hill and Amy was more than patient in setting up a reservation for us, checking in that same day. She was incredibly kind and seemed to personally care about turning our anniversary trip around. After we officially checked in, we went up to our room (the beautiful Presidential Suite) and breathed the biggest sigh of relief upon opening the door and seeing the fabulous and CLEAN accommodations that we remembered from our visit years ago. It was a complete reset of our entire trip and we immediately felt right at home. This was only further enhanced by the personal note and delicious snack sent up for us by Amy. Again, I cannot stress enough and commend the housekeeping staff for their hard work, the rooms are very clean (as a former hotel manager, I have a very high standard for these things).
The experience then extended to the restaurant where we met Kae and Nicole, both of whom were fantastic. They greeted us and made us feel so welcome, almost as if we had known them for years. They made sure we had a lovely table for dinner and Nicole personally recommended several menu items, which we ordered. In short, the food was phenomenal, highlighted by a gorgeous dining room and view. We later made the decision to go back to the restaurant/lounge the following night for dessert and drinks, solely because of the experience they provided. The second evening we were able to meet James, the bartender who personally develops some of the most delicious and unique cocktails we have had.
More on the dining aspect of the stay, we were fortunate enough to have David as our server for breakfast both mornings. Included with our room was a delicious, hot, made to order breakfast served on the gorgeous covered porch. David was incredibly kind and even tailored our breakfast experience based on requests we had made the prior day.
Overseeing the entire experience was Nancy from guest services. Her years of experience showed through with everything she did, personalizing our experience in many ways. She was also the one who ensured that we received complimentary tea service, with tea and cookies, each evening - a delightful touch.
All of the above took place on a gorgeous property with an incredible covered porch and views. Again, 100% recommend and thank all of the staff for making our anniversary extra special.

Sharonette who has been the housekeeper there for as long as we have been going is a gem! The rooms are always immaculate. James, the bar manager is one of the most entertaining people you'll ever meet and is extremely knowledgeable about his craft. We always enjoy spending time with him. The restaurant staff in order of appearance........Warren, Nick and Dave. They are all wonderful! Always on top of their game.
These were just the people that we interacted with on this visit.....but trust me, if you visit Thorn Hill you couldn't possible be disappointed.

We celebrated our anniversary here. We stayed in Tuckerman’s Suite and it was definitely worth the increase in price. A large bedroom with armoire and two additional tables. A large long living room with wet bar, sofa, & leather recliner. There’s a double sided fireplace & each room has a mounted TV above the mantle. Huge bathroom with double jacuzzi and separate steam shower. We return to this inn because of the service! This visit featured Lily, Jes, and David as our friendly servers. After giving me a cup of ice, Lily then offered to make iced coffee too. Jes made good dinner recommendations. David remembered us from last year and provided friendly calm service. I recommend roaming the grounds::: there’s a lovely screened room with wicker furniture behind the inn. The wrap around porch is peaceful. At the front desk, Nancy & others exemplify kindness. We’ll be back in the fall!

We had high expectations for this inn. We have stayed in Jackson before and this looked like a nice alternative. Given the price point and the web site, we expected a higher quality stay, but were disappointed.
First the good: The views are spectacular from the porch and even from our room, looking out toward Mount Washington. Breakfast was well prepared and our breakfast server (David) was professional and friendly. Early risers beware: Breakfast isn't served before 7:30 and there is no coffee before 6:30.
Not so good: The room decor was eclectic and not particularly comfortable. Controls in the bathroom did not work well so regulating shower temperature was a trick. Our TV was non-functioning. The only common sitting room was the lounge. The "library" was an extension of the reception area and without comfortable seating. Porch furniture was attractive but also uncomfortable (get a theme here). Lounge staff and dining hostess were at times unprofessional in their behavior around guests.
The test...would we go back: No. Not worth it for the price. For our tastes, the Wentworth would be the better choice for this type of in.

Last visit, noticeable changes. Most importantly, the room’s gas fireplace was leaking unburnt gas, a real safety hazard, that was initially dismissed by the maintenance person as residual gas from starting the fire. The gas smell increased as the fire burned, proving that there was indeed a leak. This was after my wife woke up with slurred speech that morning, with the un burnt gas seeping into the room. We asked that they turn it off, and the owner scheduled the repair company to come out, but this being the weekend, wouldn’t be in time for our stay. The casual response, coupled with things like peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, new menus that let you know the “value” of your complimentary breakfast, the absurd pricing of the dinner menu relative to the quality, all contributed to a diminished stay from previous visits. It’s a lovely location, of course, but these events, observations, all led to
an impression that it’s slipping.

The Inn at Thorn Hill is beyond romantic and sets the bar really high on everything they do. From the classy romantic settings to first class restaurant in the Inn. I don’t know where to begin. Amy greets guests in the morning and has perfect advice for where to go and things to do. She sets up discounts and finds whatever you are looking for. Nancy in the afternoon treats you like family and handles all your needs with the warmth and care of your favorite family member. The fire places in every room sets the tone. The decor is cozy class. The food in the restaurant is the best imaginable. They made each meal unique and unforgettable. Special ingredients and new takes on classic meals. Breakfast or dinner you will not be disappointed. We tried another restaurant one night and were so disappointed. Every meal before and after were only at the Inn. Smiling Dave was an unforgettable server and made breakfast a perfect start each day. Bartender James is a brilliant mixologist who goes to great lengths to hand craft ingredients to create masterpieces that you can’t get anywhere else. His Black Bear drink was my favorite.
I know I’m forgetting someone to mention but everyone goes to such lengths to be sure you have a perfect stay. I give credit to the owner Mark who takes care of his employees and truly cares about his guests and their total experience. The amazing staff is a reflection of his leadership, vision and truly caring about every aspect of the experience. He even works the front and even hand delivered hot tea to our room.
We live in Florida but are already planing on making our stays a regular event for each season.
On a side note, we were having breakfast one morning and a guest started playing Christmas medleys on the piano in the living room. It was such a special moment that my wife and I both puddled up. So much more to share here but you just have to experience the Inn for yourself.

The Inn is a Romantic, Beautiful Inn. If you’re looking for the perfect get away that offers the touch of romance with the warmth of home away from home this one is for you.
We Loved this Inn. The owner Mark thought about everything to make our stay so perfect. He is so down to earth along with Nancy and Amy they took such good care of us our entire stay. Can't wait to come back. The outside and inside are so beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast is included in your stay and it's not your ordinary continental breakfast. This is a sit down restaurant with Victorian charm and a wood burning fireplace to add to the charm and warmth.
We ate breakfast every morning and had the most delightful waiter known as Smiling Dave whom we looked forward to seeing every morning. The chefs there for both breakfast and dinner are gourmet chefs. Linda our hostess was so friendly and made us feel so special that when we left on our last morning we were hugging her to say goodbye. Our dinners were gourmet which you pay for but worth it and kept us coming back. They have a beautiful common area with fireplaces throughout that we enjoyed afternoons and evenings. Their bartender James was a Mixologist who created the most Amazing cocktails. My Favorite was the Otono and my husband’s was the Black Bear. We would sit there at the bar and chat with guests and James like we were all old friends. Some of the special touches included offering us champagne when we arrived, luxurious robes in our room, hot tea and cookies on a tray every evening, fresh bottles of water every day, homemade cookies and cocoa, coffee, tea throughout the day, and welcome letter with a sweet box of fudge, and fireplaces throughout the common area. The outside was just as inviting with various sitting areas and in the Fall they have a fire pit with s’mores. We were centrally located to ski resorts, Mount Washington and North Conway for country store shopping. We traveled up to Mount Washington and discovered a winter wonderland 45 minutes away from us where we had hoped for snow so we found it not too far away. It was hard to leave on our last day but we’ve already decided we have to go back in the Fall. It’s the kind of place that you want to go back over and over.
