Stayed for four nights and received an unauthorised charge for an additional night (despite having checked out at 7am that morning). This was over two weeks ago and we are struggling to get any kind of response from the hotel. We have provided uber receipts and flight information to prove that we left the hotel when expected, but I’m now concerned we won’t see that money again.
The stay itself was great, a little noisy on the ground floor but we could have asked to be moved, so that’s on us.
As much as I liked the hotel and left thinking I would return, it’s something I wouldn’t consider now. As the days pass it’s feeling more like fraudulent activity rather than an error due to the lack of response and constant chasing.

THEY ARE THIEVES- PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND RUN NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

This has been the worst experience with a hotel I have ever had. There is very clearly someone, or even multiple employees, within this hotel that are participating in fraudulent activity.
I stayed here for six night with my husband and after we got back home I received an email from one of the managers stating that our stay had not actually been payed for. At no point during our check in, nor the entire six nights we were there, had this been brought to our attention. I reached out to the airline company that I bought our airline/hotel package from, and they stated that this simply wasn’t the case. They reached out to the hotel themselves and stated I wouldn’t be charged and that everything had been payed in full for several months prior.
It’s been over two weeks now and they have charged my card for an additional $2,000! I, again, contacted the hotel and have received no response. The airline company reached out two weeks ago, and has yet to receive a response from them. Additionally, I have tried to contact the sender of the original email and it’s stating that emails cannot be received, and the email is no longer monitored. Despite multiple attempts, no one has contacted me back.
Also, after more thoroughly going through these reviews, it’s very clear that stealing from their customers and fraudulent charges to unsuspecting patrons seem to be a big issue for this hotel. I wish I did a better job at reading these reviews before I booked!
In conclusion; if you want to pay double for your trip, then by all means book this hotel!

Currently staying at the hotel and very disappointed. We are going to extend our stay in New Orleans for two more nights but will be checking out of the Eliza Jane tomorrow and going somewhere else. Made the reservation two weeks ago with a preference for a high floor and a quiet room because we were getting up before 5 am to go on a fishing trip. We literally couldn’t be in a louder room. We are in 205 - second floor right above the bar. The bar wasn’t louder than expected but we were right on top of it. Hotel isn’t full or very busy and it isn’t a cheap room. I have Explorist status and don’t feel like that was a consideration at all in room assignment. I booked the hotel because it was a former Newspaper and had a cool vibe but regret it. Wouldn’t recommend.

Stayed with my wife for five days when on vacation in New Orleans. The ambience of the hotel is great and the rooms are very comfortable.
It just has some irritating aspects;
1. On arrival for two people for five days there were six coathangers. We got more after asking reception but would have expected more as a matter of course,
2. For two people there was only bathrobe. Again spoke to reception and was told this was the norm(!) but we could have another.
3. The hotel rooms are around a central atrium which plays music until late at night - unfortunately the rooms are soundproofed enough to cut this out.
Otherwise it was fine.

I WANTED TO LOVE THIS HOTEL, BUT THERE’S TOO MANY ADDITIONAL FEES. I was charged an extra $33 per day for amenities that were supposed to be complimentary, including two drink chips and two trolley car passes. Despite paying over $1000 for a 3 day stay in the EDITORS SUITE, I feel nickel-and-dimed with the additional $163 in fees. WHAT ALSO IS UNFAIR, I was charged FEES for a day I didn't occupy the room due to flight delays. The hotel itself is in a great location, but the rooms are poorly lit. There’s a refrigerator in the room but no microwave, so if you bring back food there’s no way to reheat it. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.
