Surf Side Hotel

Food and hospitality was great . This is our second time coming here and we love it. It’s very clean, we love the breakfast, the wine hour, the cookies and all around just everything.’we would highly recommend staying here to all of our friends and family.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was great. The room had a lovely ocean view. Breakfast was awesome and service staff the best! Fresh omelettes, biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, grits and corned beef hash. Access to the beach was great. Cost was very reasonable. Would definitely want to stay...

We had a great trip! The staff is amazing! Everything is clean! The breakfast is delicious and who doesn’t love wine tasting and cookies in the evening? Very thankful we found a room here on our last minute couple trip. And we woke up to an ocean view!

This was such a peaceful getaway for us! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We celebrated my 25th birthday, and I got a birthday gift which was so special! We loved being able to walk on the beach right from the hotel, the complimentary cookies and popcorn, and the free wine and charcuterie social. Everything is so close and convenient. My boyfriend loved the breakfast! I wish there were some more vegan protein options since I don’t eat meat (although I understand this is standard American breakfast). While I loved the potatoes, a suggestion I’d have is maybe having some baked beans to go with them since they are cheap and easy to make so that people who don’t eat meat have a more balanced breakfast. It would also be cool to have some caffeine-free/herbal tea options. Overall, thanks for a great stay!

I'll book direct with Surfside from now on as the location, amenities and staff like Shawn made for a wonderful Winter Weekend getaway! A wide selection for breakfast awaited me after a chilly, breezy morning beach walk! Our ocean view balcony on the 4th floor held sweeping vistas of the waves angling into shore that we enjoyed with in-room coffee. We will be back--highly recommend!

Off-season in Nags Head is quiet, but The Surf Side was fully staffed, squeaky clean and great place to lay our heads for the night. They laid out a full, hot breakfast in the morning that set us up for the day. A word about the staff - everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful and a joy.

Delightful weekend. Hotel is clean and quiet. From to booking to check in and through out the stay, staff went out of their way to make sure it was a pleasant visit. We will return.

The complimentary breakfast is great as always. Our room was comfortable with a wonderful view of the ocean. The hotel is close to different stores, specialty shops and great restaurants. We return every year since our experience here is positive.

We chose this hotel because it was highly rated on TripAdvisor and now understand why. The place, although older, is well maintained and very clean. It sits on the Atlantic Ocean and has both an indoor and outdoor pool. They have wine and cheese in the afternoon, popcorn all day...

We chose this hotel because it was highly rated on TripAdvisor and now understand why. The place, although older, is well maintained and very clean. It sits on the Atlantic Ocean and has both an indoor and outdoor pool. They have wine and cheese in the afternoon, popcorn all day and cookies after 8PM. But the complimentary breakfast was outstanding, both for the variety and the freshness. It is full Southern with biscuits, grits, sausage and corned beef hash. The usual waffles, cereal and toast are there also. But the hot food is served to you so you don't have to worry if one of the younger guests used their hands on the biscuits. Highly recommended!

There were a few problems to start but taken care of quickly. Would like to mention that Carly from maintenence department went above her call of duty to solve problems even after hours. The hotel has a wonderful staff and that is why we have gone there for MANY years.

We have stayed at the Surfside for the last 22 years in July. My husband and I decided to go to Nags Head for our anniversary this year. Of course, we knew where we would be calling home for a couple of days. Our King room/pool side is very spacious with great views of the ocean and sound side. For our anniversary Amanda and staff gifted us with a bottle of Rose', chocolates and two beautiful wine glasses with the Surfside logo on it. We had a issue with the new safes they installed over the winter. It went into sleep mode. Amanda, Carly and April all were wonderful in getting the safe open. They installed a wonderful blue mat walkway way to the beach and new decking so that all can get to the beach. Breakfast, wine social and chocolate chip cookies at 8pm each night is always a great way to meet new friends. We absolutely love this place and the staff that we are lucky enough to call friends.
