Reviews of St. Ermin’s Hotel
Excellent room, fantastic service and superb breakfast. Been here multiple times and the junior suite this time was amazing! Shanoor was so helpful on arrival and Will in the Caxton bar was his usual funny self, and both provided excellent service.
They provided A* service
Luxury in London that won't break the bank.

So glad we decided to stay here. This hotel provided a luxury experience at a reasonable price point (1700 pounds for 5 nights). The room was large for British standards and the bed was comfortable. My only quibble with the room was the shower/tub combo. It is challenging to get in and out. Especially since the tub bottom did not have anything for traction.
The hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful.
The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and priced right (25pounds).
The location can't be beat. We were 5 minutes from St James's Park tube station and 15 minutes from Buckingham Palace.
I would stay here again without question.

During February 2025, my wife and I stayed 9 nights at St Erwin's. To say that we were delighted with our stay would be an understatement. Here are some of the positives that we experienced at the St Ermin's:
Terrific staff - everyone was 100% friendly and helpful, and we had many staff encounters every day. They really added a lot to our experience. From the moment we walked through the door until we departed, we felt like welcomed guests!
Great room - we did get a larger room, which I suppose colors our opinion. Everything was clean and well maintained, which I expect would be the case in any room. The bed was quite comfortable - we slept very well!
Location was convenient for exploring London. The St. James's Underground station was right around the corner. With both the District and Circle lines service this station, it was easy to get around the city to most sites, often without changing trains. We could walk with sites in Westminster and dining spots north of St. James Park, and back from the theatre district after a couple of shows (20 minutes or so).
Afternoon wine reception - This was available in the late afternoon, Monday through Thursday. It was a nice chance to socialize with other guests and learn about their London favorites.
Breakfast - Full buffet with many choices plus so dishes cooked to order. We found we did not need lunch other than a small snack. Marriott Bonvoy members should check if their status provides them free breakfast; if it does, this is a huge benefit.
Dinner - For those nights when you just want to stay in, the hotel restaurant is quite good serving a variety of creative dishes. We chose to eat in the restaurant for 3 of our nights, enjoying the convenience as well as the fare.
Bar - Most nights the bar, while small, had a nice crowd of fellow travelers in a casual atmosphere. The bartenders are real pros at their trade. Hanging out there was a big plus for us.
Concierge team - There were usually two people on duty - and they were well utilized! They helped us with tickets, recommendations, reservations, and travel tips galore.
Overall experience - While this is a Marriott affiliate, the experience is of a one-off boutique London hotel. It feels local and authentic. The architecture helps, but it is the staff that truly makes the experience.
Negatives? Tough to think of any. I suppose for some people the area immediately around the hotel, and I mean the surrounding 2 blocks or so, might not be their preference. It is fairly quiet at night, and not in a charming neighborhood sort of way. It is mostly office buildings without upscale shopping mecca or a lot of night life. It was so easy to get to wherever we wanted that this was not an issue for us, but some people might want lodging right in the theatre district, in the midst of high-end shopping or restaurants or with a panoramic view.
We are already talking about our next London trip, and we will again stay at the St. Ermin's. No need for us to look anywhere else.

St Ermin's is brilliantly run! We stayed for 10 nights, enjoying their sumptuous breakfast, and having afternoon tea. Our room was perfect and accommodations were easily made because of my medical condition. Nahid was exceptional in assisting us and making sure we had everything needed. One of the waitresses in the restaurant went over and above by making sure my wife had plenty of tea, honey, and freshly sliced lemons to help with her cold. Can I also just say I think their sticky pudding is the BEST. 10/10 going back. Excellent location, reasonable price, and perfect amenities.

Great property and even better staff!
Best hotel in London! First time in Europe, we were celebrating our anniversary and wife’s birthday. Nahid took time out of his busy schedule to make a “must visit” guide for us. Asmita and Khushma were great at the front desk! Best property!

My husband and I just returned from a ten-day stay at St. Ermin’s Hotel in London. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was with them but I will try.
First, the hotel is right in the middle of everything. My husband is 80 years old and we walked to St. James’s Park, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Churchill’s War Rooms, Trafalgar Square, and so many Pubs and shops. All are within walking distance.
We found the best bakery right behind the hotel. Royal Artisan. And a lovely cozy French restaurant only a block away.
To Aizaz, you are the quintessential host. Your emails before our visit were thoughtful and helpful. You helped in arranging for a car to pick us up at the airport and the driver was right there as we left the airport. When you found out that my husband and I like to have a leisure trip, staying in the room each morning to decompress with coffee and pastry before we ventured out, you suggested an upgrade to the larger suite. That suggestion was brilliant and it added to the relaxing pace we set for ourselves. Your surprise welcome waiting for us in the room was exemplary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your personalized attention to make our stay comfortable.
To the concierges: I wish I knew all of your names. I am sorry for that. Hopefully, you will know who I am talking about. To the young concierge who answered my list of questions on our first day and made a special chocolate “bee-livery”. I looked for you before we left to thank you personally but I could not find you. Also to the concierge who took the time to explain the London tube routes to us. We were so happy that we found our way following your directions and received a “high-five” that we found our way back to the hotel.
To our housekeepers: thank you for your patience in waiting for us to leave before you could clean our room. The room was spotless every day and a welcome relief after hours of walking, seeing three productions, and touring the city.
After ten days everyone made us feel as though we were your only guests. I can’t recommend St. Ermin’s Hotel enough and will never ever stay anywhere else. Unless, of course, we have an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace.

This was our 10th time to the St Ermines hotel in London. It keeps getting better every time.
The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. The location is superb and the staff is outstanding. Our room was clean and beautiful. The lobby is jaw- dropping beautiful.
Everyone from the Bellman to the concierge to the breakfast staff to the front desk Staff are the kindest sweetest, most caring people.
In particular, Daniela Lerhner was amazing again. We met her several trips ago, and she keeps getting nicer and sweeter and kinder every time we go to the hotel.
The hotel is walking distance to Buckingham Palace and many many other locations. The hotel has so much history also.

This beautiful hotel was added to our itinerary as worthy of a visit due to its history and connection with Sir Winston Churchill and the SAS. Regrettably this time it was not the hotel we were staying in as we had already booked before discovering this one. However, it is now number one on my wish list of London hotels for the next time I visit!
Instead of a hotel stay we knew we still wanted to experience this wonderful building and so elected for a drink in the Caxton Bar, a favourite haunt of the iconic, champagne lover and world leader extraordinaire Sir Winston himself!
The hotel exterior in the dark is stunning, lit perfectly it invites you in to an extremely colonial feeling verandah and lobby. As I entered I was immediately taken back to my favourite city, Singapore, and the illustrious Raffles hotel. As you walk in to the pristine white draping staircase, if you look carefully, you will see an unobtrusive door built into the stairs. This door was once the exit for many an MP rushing back over to the House of Commons to cast their votes.
In a corridor on the way to the bar is a museum-like display that underpins the historical importance of the hotel during World War II. If you are a history buff this hotel is well worth a visit.
Likewise, the Caxton Bar did not disappoint. It was beautifully decorated in dark, warm tones. The fire was casting warm flickers across the room and the cocktails were delicious. I was already fantasising about my next London visit and a stay at this wonderful hotel.

From our first step into the hotel every member of staff was so service orientated and helpful through out our whole visit. It really was impressive to see genuine service can still exsist and all the previous reviews were spot on! We also enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant celebrating a birthday. Fabulous stay at the hotel including an amazing afternoon tea. All the staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us.

Jumoke, she was outstanding in serving me and my husband during breakfast. Her genuine smile was so friendly. Also, her intonation was very inviting. She is such a very professional person and helped to meet an important need that I had. I wish her even better success with her interactive people skills. The World needs more people like her. For example, I forgot important hair products back in the United States, and in the Westminister area, it's difficult to find what I need for African American hair. So, I asked her if she could help me. Without any hesitation, Jumoke, said, "Yes, I can." This was important to me because I have to speak at Oxford University and want my hair to look great for my presentation. I can't go before people without having the right products. Jumoke went out of her way to make sure I got those products, and they are the same products that I use in the United States. Wow!! That is someone who really cares about people.

We have just returned from a wonderful break at The St Ermin’s. The whole experience was such a pleasure from beginning to end. It is such a beautiful and comfortable hotel. The staff are amazing, all so welcoming and helpful.
Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed, clearly carefully designed … mirrors where you need them, plenty of coat hangars and great quality White Company toiletries. We particularly enjoyed the insulated cafetière and fresh coffee on the hospitality tray. The requested walk in shower was excellent and very spacious.
We ate in the Caxton Grill and in the bar, enjoying our meals in both. The menus were interesting and varied and the quality excellent.
The hotel has a great atmosphere, and very cleverly spans all age groups perfectly, appealing to the young and trendy, families and old buffers like us with equal style!
Can’t wait to go back!
