Reviews of Splendid Venice
Well located hotel recommended to me. Service was very good, very nice room (suite); some decor / maintenance issues require attention. Complementary Prosecco, Chianti and water. Turn down service. Staff are helpful. Good selection of in room toiletries. No cheap but you get what you pay for!
Website navigation for modifying or canceling in too difficult
I am not sure I will book with Star Hotels again because it is nearly impossible to find my reservations on their website. Modifying a reservation is almost impossible. This make is tough when traveling. Customer Service responds but takes a while and by that time it is too late....

We arrived by train into Venice after dark and was met by a water taxi. The taxi took us down the Grand Canal and through a couple of small canals directly to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the small side, but very comfortable. From our location, it was a easy walk to the St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. The hotel had a very good breakfast buffet (a little expensive) or you could order la carte. The first night we ate in the restaurant and had a great pasta dish. They were also helpful in arranging dinners at other nearby restaurants. Great hotel.

Love this hotel. Currently here with my husband and I can’t say enough about the hotel and service. Room 112 is beautifully appointed and faces a canal. The pictures will speak for themselves! The bed is comfortable and they offer a pillow menu. The room is equipped a stocked mini-fridge, safe and flat screen Smart Tv. The bathroom is gorgeous and has a tub.
The location is central near San Marco, but quiet so you can sleep at night.
The hotel lobby and bar area are nice places to relax and have a drink.
Shout out to Gianluca and Kevin who worked the bar and were great with us. Their drinks were delicious and they gave us great tips on Venice.
The breakfast was typical European but also had pancakes! The dining room was large and spacious.
I have already recommended Splendid to my friends and plan on staying here again when I return to Venice.
Great job!

I wanted the perfect hotel in Venice for a romantic birthday weekend away. i could not have chosen a better hotel. It is stunning. The decor is gorgeous and we were upgraded to a suite which was amazing. Such a beautiful room overlooking the canal.
The service is impeccable with everyone so friendly and helpful but very profesional.
I booked the VIP transfer from the airport through the hotel and it was great. Very James Bond pulling up at the hotel's jetty. It was so good I did the same on the way back. I also arranged for some champagne and the 'Romance' package to be in the room when we arrived. The hotel put flowers in the room and left rose petals in a path to the bed with a big heart shape made of rose petals on the bed.
The bed was also very large and very comfortable.
Breakfast in bed is also to be recommended!!
Location is perfect as it is a couple of minutes walk to either Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge with lots of great restaurants within walkng disance.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

My husband and I came to Venice to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We wanted to stay in a luxurious suite with 24-hour room service, and close to St. Mark’s Square so we could enjoy those dueling café orchestras in the lit-up square at night. We noticed many Venice hotel rooms were very small and had no room service (or elevators). We were thrilled when we found Splendid and happily booked the Presidential suite for 8 nights!
Splendid exceeded our expectations. Salvatore Pisani, the General Manager, met us when we arrived and showed us around our beautiful suite. He was very friendly and kind. There was champagne and wine and fruit and treats waiting for us in our room. He even asked if we would like a Spritz, something we had said we wanted to experience when in Venice. Yes, please we said, and before we knew it two Spritz were brought up to our suite. They were very delicious and refreshing and we couldn’t help sipping more of them during our trip.
Our king size bed was very comfy and our suite on the 5th floor was very quiet. I loved the beautiful marble bathrooms, the shower had great water pressure and the towel warmers were a nice touch. I’d never used a bidet before, but now I want one in my bathroom, too.
Most mornings we had breakfast served in our room or on our private terrace. Fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, delicious croissants and fruit, oh and the best illy coffee ever! Everything was delicious and a great way to start the day!
Throughout our trip there were fruit baskets, wines, chocolate hearts and treats left in our suite when we were out. And on our 40th anniversary, we found a beautiful card along with a delicious cheese and fruit platter and a bottle of wine. Wow! Just Wow! We felt so special.
The Splendid Concierge Team is exceptional. Whether it’s planning a day trip to Slovenia to see the castles and caves (shout out to Antonio our fabulous driver) or getting directions to the bridge or square, they are always eager and happy to help. So professional and kind. You can ask Concierge anything. Nothing is too big or small. Grazie Millie Alessandro, Pietro and the whole Concierge Team.
I’ve never met anyone who didn’t just absolutely love Venice. I didn’t get it. Now I do. On our last day, I felt so sad I nearly cried. I didn’t want to go home. I wanted to stay.
I love the Venice book you gave us as a farewell gift. I keep it in our living room to remind us of the magic and beauty of Venice that will always live in our hearts. I can’t wait to come back one day! Maybe for our 50th!
Grazie Millie Salvatore Pisani and Team!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of the room and overall conditions of the hotel. The room is in very poor condition, with significant neglect. It is extremely dirty, with unpainted surfaces, and in a state of disrepair.
The general cleanliness of the hotel is also far below acceptable standards. The rooms are very dirty and poorly maintained, lacking basic care and upkeep. The carpets have stains, and the blinds are broken and moldy.
Additionally, I must commend the receptionists for their kindness and professionalism. Despite the poor state of the hotel, they have made every effort to assist guests with warmth and courtesy.
However, for the price paid, the hotel itself looks very old and is in extremely bad shape. There are many other options available that offer much better value.
There are also fleas in the room, causing both passengers to experience itching.

The young guy that poured us drinks even walked our luggage down to the water taxi. It’s small but cute and close the square. I believe all the rooms are different which makes it unique.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful weekend staying at the Splendid in Venice and it certainly was! In the lead up to our arrival, the hotel was very helpful in arranging our water taxi (a real treat as it’s not cheap but what a way to arrive !!) from the airport. And the wonderful service continued from there. Our room was comfortable, clean and plenty big enough for the two of us. We didn’t have breakfast included but the dining area was spacious and the breakfast selection looked good. The rooftop bar is delightful and the perfect way to relax after a long day of sightseeing!
The hotels location is excellent. Super close to the main sites and a gondola service if you’re keen. All in all we had a brilliant experience and would highly recommend.

The location is fantastic, the rooms excellent and the restaurant amazing but the absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. Everyone we came in contact with was top quality and left you with the feeling that they really do care. A special mention here for Gueye in the restaurant, we celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary on our first night at the hotel and Gueye made it so special for us that we cancelled our reservation at another restaurant the next evening and ate again at the hotel. He is a real credit to your organisation.

Stunning boutique hotel in the middle of everything.
Having been to Venice a few times I thought I had done everything there was and seen everything you need to see. Having never stayed overnight we decided to stay one night - this turned into two and could easily have turned into more.
We got a private transfer to the hotel but unfortunately it was high tide so they couldn't take us directly to the hotel's pontoon, but dropped us as close as possible.
Upon check in with very friendly and helpful front office staff we were shown to our gorgeous room, 207. The room was much bigger than anticipated and had two double beds which were so comfortable and luxurious. The bathroom and it's products were gorgeous! A decent hairdyer, robes and slippers, water (topped up and could ask for more) and a nespresso machine were included in the room.
The decor of the entire hotel is absolutely beautiful and watching gondolas pass by from the very funky downstairs hotel bar was fabulous. We enjoyed sunset drinks on the rooftop bar which was stunning and the drinks were fantastic.
We didn't have breakfast included as we are not big breakfast eaters so I cannot comment on the hotel restaurant and we ate out for dinner both nights. We got simple breakfasts as some of the restaurants on the main canal which was a nice way to start the day.
The hotel is in walking distance to everything and you certainly get your steps in but the views are stunning everywhere you go.
The free boat trip to Murano was fabulous and you just need to book in with them at the front desk. We ended up going to Burano on the ferry after the glass making tour (which was interested and of course you get sent to the showroom after but they weren't pushy at all) and that was absolutely worth the visit. The colourful buildings were so gorgeous. We had the best baked fish meal there at Restaurant Galuppi - incredible staff and a gorgeous restaurant - put it on your list! The only thing is the ferry back to Venice was quite long and so so hot as there's no aircon on them.
The staff were amazing and were eager to help you with directions, enquiries - anything really, the housekeeping was immaculate and we actually didn't want to leave. The front staff arranged for a private boat to take us to the airport and if you have an extra 160 euro it was definitely worth the experience - you get almost a mini tour of Venice and cruising into an airport on a speedboat was something special.
Huge thank you to Salvatore Pisani General Manager and all the team, we can't wait to return and highly recommend the Splendid Venice to anyone who asks for recommendations! 🥰🙏

What a refreshing and delightful hotel! The service was impeccable, the rooms were spacious, the lighting was amazing and the beds very, very comfortable. We appreciated the minibar which was well-stocked. It was lovely to have a full-service restaurant offering food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The selections were varied and my choices were delicious. The bathroom was large and spacious and the rain shower (plus a tub) and bidet were appreciated. The staff was gracious from the front desk staff to the bar to the restaurant to the room attendants. Absolutely NO complaints at all. Fabulous location, pier at the hotel, good shopping very close by. There were several lounge spaces which allowed for relaxing during the day or evening. Very, very comfortable hotel -- a remarkable place I would definitely visit again.
