I hesitate to give glowing recommendations on Shoal Bay Villas, because it might mean getting reservations there in the future could become a problem. 😊 In all seriousness, I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and the staff. It is the ONLY place we want to stay when we come to Anguilla. It was our first time not only to Anguilla, but also to Shoal Bay Villas, but it won’t be our last. We stayed in a one bedroom garden suite (I think it was #8), and it was right above the office. We loved it there. The suite was roomy with a full kitchen with everything we needed, and the a/c in the living room and the bedroom worked very well. We even had a little beach view between two suites. The grounds are impeccable, and although we didn’t use the pool in the time we were there, it was clean and looked inviting. Don’t even get me started about the beach in front of the hotel. GORGEOUS! We spent all of our time there when we weren’t out sightseeing. We had a set-up on the beach with 2 loungers, an umbrella and small table, and our name was on it, so no waking up at 6am nonsense to reserve loungers. You were assigned a lounger set-up area when you checked in, and we LOVED this. No matter what time of day we moseyed on out there, we had loungers waiting for us. And the owners Kathy and Rachel are simply the BEST! Personable, caring and always available if there were issues. It is evident that they care about the people who stay at the hotel. We rented a car from Bay Rentals, and Rachel arranged it all for us. She let us know exactly where it would be at the ferry terminal, and the car was waiting there when we arrived in Anguilla. Close to the end of our stay, we had a little incident with the car. One tire blew when we went out to get some booze. A kind passerby helped us change the tire, and we made it back to the hotel on the spare, and Rachel took care of contacting the car rental agency to secure us another car. We opted to do without the car for our last day, and not only did the car rental agency refund one day’s rental fee, but Rachel also secured us a taxi to take us back to the ferry terminal. The cleaning ladies did a superb job of cleaning the rooms every day, and no shortage of bath or beach towels. Tip them well as they work hard. We loved the container of water that was replaced daily just outside of our suite, which we used for washing out feet to get off any excess sand before taking it into our suite. It’s the little things like this that makes this place feel like home. I would not hesitate to come back to Shoal Bay Villas. Definitely a home away from home. And bonus that there are numerous restaurants in walking distance along the beach from this hotel. Thanks Rachel and Kathy. See you again soon.

First time here. Quite surprised at lack of amenities at this resort. No on-site restaurant, bar or even vending machines. Also no grocery stores or convenience stores within walking distance. Resort itself is quite good with private beach and is reasonably well maintained. Staff is also very friendly

I absolutely hesitate writing this review as I really don't want our secret out! My husband and I have been traveling to Anguilla for 30 years! We were married at the Malliouhana in 1994. We discovered Shoal Bay Villas in 2017 when we decided to divide our time between the east and the west side! We fell in love instantly and SBV is our new "home away from home". It is like having your own beautiful apartment steps away from breathtaking Shoal Bay Beach. When we arrive I feel as though we are being greeted by Family! Kathy the owner, along with her daughters, Rachel and Becky do a terrific job of making you feel welcome. I must mention Monica, the office manager, that always greets us with open arms and a great big smile! She is so kind and efficient and a true asset to the operation. Then there is the cleaning crew. You will always return to your room being beautifully tidied up and restocked with any supplies that you may need. They are all terrific, but special shout out to Sabo, Melina and Dody who have taken care of us these past several years! I cannot say enough about Anguilla, it's incredible people and beautiful SBV. Great location, Great beach, and the BEST people! You will find yourself booking your next stay before you even leave!

My wife and I just came home from a 10 day trip here. This was our first time here and not the last. This resort is was great from check into check out. The employees are so friendly and helpful. We were in a one bedroom second floor ocean front ocean view room. The room had everything we needed and house keeping did a nice job. Best part is that they assign you an umbrella and chairs on the beach for everyday you are there. It’s so nice not to get up early and go out with your towel to get chairs. They give you beach towels every day and there is a closet full of floats and noodles. My advice is rent a car every day so you can be spontaneous and see all the island. Grocery stores are close and they had everything we needed. You can buy beer, wine and water from the office. They definitely have the best beach on the island and it is never busy. If you get hungry there are 8 restaurants all within walking distance from the resort and they have really good food. We highly recommend coming here and we have already booked for next year.

Wow. Our experience at Shoal Bay Villas was exceptional. We loved the beautiful beachfront location, spacious rooms, quality of furnishings, large well equipped kitchen, helpful staff, well maintained grounds / pool/ beach, reasonable rates and walking access to nearby restaurants. Was wonderful having our own dedicated beach palapa, and access to a free onsite laundry room. The supportive and caring management quickly handled our issues, reservations and questions. We also appreciated that they were able to help provide us a rental car at a reasonable rate. We look forward to returning and making this our home away from home in Anguilla!

SB Villas provided the perfect place to chill and rest our heads. Very reasonably priced for AXA and they’ve truly thought of everything down to a cooler in your room! I also had a great 90 min massage on-site, don’t hesitate! From one hotelier to the other, job well done, thank you so much!

Amazing. This was our first time to Anguilla. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at SBV Everyone was welcoming and helpful. The villa was quiet and relaxing. The view from our oceanfront villa was gorgeous. There were several restaurants in walking distance, yet we were on a quiet end of the beach. If you are looking for peace and serenity with easy access to restaurants, and a friendly accommodating staff, this is the place. Looking forward to returning in the future.

We just returned from our best trip yet to Anguilla. We LOVE Shoal Bay Villas! The second floor one-bedroom suite was perfect in every way! SBV has the most wonderful staff as well. The housekeeping staff did a superb job keeping our suite spotless, and the groundkeeping staff maintained the beach area to perfection! We LOVED the new system of assigning umbrellas and chairs to each suite for the duration of the stay. We never had to give a thought to finding chairs on the beach. Many people left their floats and noodles right under their assigned umbrellas overnight without worries that anyone else would disturb them. The office staff were super helpful in every way! Many emails to determine dates and suites were fielded effortlessly, special anniversary flowers were ordered and delivery handled, advice was given about a case of swimmer’s ear, and everyone was super helpful when we left our key in the room by accident. As always, we frequented Madeariman for delicious meals, as well as Elodia’s, Gwen’s, and Ola’s Tacos. So nice to have them within easy walking distance. You can kick off your sandals and walk down the beach to fabulous food! We are already looking at times when we can return to our favorite place on earth!

My favorite place to unwind. The owners, the suites and the property are all as good as you get. This place is very comfortable and unpretentious. The rooms are right on the most beautiful beach. The atmosphere is very relaxed with no "snooty attitudes.

We stayed at SBV for our first visit in May 2022. This was the best vacation we’ve ever been on. SBV was absolutely perfect for us. More than enough room, sparkling clean and the most amazing staff we have ever encountered. Monica is the nicest, sweetest woman and is so helpful. As was everyone else on their staff. Right on fabulous Shoal Bay the most beautiful beach we have ever visited. We have booked our next trip for Spring ‘23 and plan to do 2 trips next year. We stayed 10 days and it was not enough for us. Great Restaurants right on the beach a short walk away. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. This is our new home away from home. We finally found our beach.

Since several years we spent holidays in Anguilla at Shaolbay Villas. This year we spent 3 weeks in August and everything was perfect. I read a comment regarding mosquitos. We know that in august the weather is unstable and that early in the morning and at sunset the mosquitoes are there. But not just At Shoal Bay. Everywhere in the island, in Saint Martin also. Just brush off with Off....that's what we did in the evening when leaving for the restaurant and arriving at the restaurant. Yes we were stung but it's not serious at all! SBV is a very nice place . We are looking for tranquility and for us it is an idyllic place. All the staff is very professional at your service . Anguilla is so quiet and anguillan people so kind. Our next next stay is already booked for next year.

I almost don’t want anyone to know about this place so I can keep it to myself! Folks, if Anguilla is on your list then Shoal Bay Villas is the place that you need to stay. The staff, the accommodations, and the beach are absolutely amazing. About the staff. From the start, during the booking process the top notch customer service begins. The team at Shoal Bay Villas was quick to answer any questions I had and they made sure that we had two rooms next to one another as we were traveling with another couple. During the stay every single (and I mean every single) person that we interacted with were wonderful hosts. During our stay the team at SBV arranged for a rental car, transportation back to the ferry, and a spa day. Fantastic customer service all around. The villas themselves were fantastic. We had ground level rooms that included a full kitchen, bedroom, and living area. The full kitchen was great because it allowed us to do some grocery shopping to load up on snacks, drinks, and provisions for a few in room meals. Mini splits were in both the living area and bedroom, this kept the room at the perfect temperature at all times. Everything you need to ensure a pleasant stay is included for your convenience. Rooms were attended to daily. Now for what is probably the highlight of it all, the location of the villas themselves. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the beach is at this location. I have been to eight Caribbean countries and the sand on this beach was the best that I have ever encountered. It was so soft, I felt like I was walking on top of a memory foam mattress. The water was clean and warm and was that great turquoise color. The weather was perfect, only varying daily by one or two degrees. I was in heaven. If Anguilla is already on your radar, or if you are looking for any Caribbean destination, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Shoal Bay Villas. I will be back again in the future for sure.
