Reviews of Sheraton Waikiki
Great resort! Had a great time only complaint is the amount of umbrellas and chairs at the adult pool. People were lining up before 8am to get a spot. Other than that overall a wonnderful time. If we return to Honolulu this would be the place to stay.
We stayed in the infinity view room, 22nd floor. Looking at the ocean, still a view of Diamondhead and the sunset(at least most of it), and great pleasure to observe the Sea Turtles. It was great having a Lanai to sit out in the morning for coffee and late afternoon...
We stayed in the infinity view room, 22nd floor. Looking at the ocean, still a view of Diamondhead and the sunset(at least most of it), and great pleasure to observe the Sea Turtles. It was great having a Lanai to sit out in the morning for coffee and late afternoon Rose’. The room was very clean with wonderful housekeeping daily. We had a problem with the fridge which was rectified immediately. We had great assistance and very quick response with any questions prior to and during our stay from Tiare in Guest Relations. The staff at the front desk were excellent in assisting us with a late checkout as our flight was not until 11:45pm.
The adult infinity pool is great to sit by and soak up the sun, not much shade and few umbrellas, but a great spot. Have stayed at many resorts over the years where access to a pool chair is difficult as people leave towels or whatever to save a chair first thing in the morning and then head off to do whatever. I was pleased to experience a different practice here. The pool staff are attentive and after a while will put a notice on the saved chair stating that the stuff left behind will be removed by a certain time. When the time comes, they remove the towels or whatever and store them and voila chairs are available, very pleased to see and benefit from this.
The resort fee is a little high for what you get as the rooms themselves are not inexpensive, but this seem very standard in Waikiki.
The beach is right outside the hotel, and although busy always a place to lay a towel. We brought our own beach blanket and towels from home which was great to have, but you can easily buy them at various stores close by.
There are a lot of great restaraunts nearby but I would recommend making reservations, nice to plan ahead rather than being disappointed.
You are in the middle of everything, so very busy, but a great vibe.
Enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return again.

There are many reasons why I absolutely loved my stay at the Sheraton Waikiki hotel - beautiful views from gardens, pools, outdoor restaurants and rooms, the spacious lobby filled with lovely shops or the proximity to magnificent shopping and delicious restaurants. Most of all, it was the warm hospitality of the front desk, waitstaff in the morning restaurant, housekeeping and pool attendants.
Kudos to management and looking forward to returning in the near future.

Nancy and Trina were wonderful and fantastic helping us when we went to select our BonVoy gold elite gifts
In particular, Nancy and Trina went above and beyond in helping my wife get a hair appointment at a reasonable price at the outrigger Waikiki beach / Mario’s
Best location but with that comes the crowds and with the crowds come the waiting for everything. Infinity pool area not large enough for the thousands that stay in this hotel at any give time. We are Bonvoy members and have always been allowed a late check out. Not here...
Best location but with that comes the crowds and with the crowds come the waiting for everything. Infinity pool area not large enough for the thousands that stay in this hotel at any give time. We are Bonvoy members and have always been allowed a late check out. Not here because of how busy they always are. We had to be out by 11am. Rum Fire restaurant on site was excellent.

Our trip was amazing! Our house keeper, Roger, was great…he really made our trip special! He payed very close attention to detail. The front office staff were so helpful and friendly! The hotel overall was exceptionally clean which I appreciated so much.

The Good:
- infinity pool overlooking the ocean
- Hawaiian Coffee Shop just near entrance to infinity pool area. Terrific Açai bowls, coffee etc
- Shops embeded in hotel as well as high end shops nearby
The Bad:
- Room was awful. No counter space in bathroom. No place to hang anything of length anywhere. Room was a good size but furnished atrociously. As far as the hallways are concerned, the ones in Severance have more appeal.
Infinity Pool Rules.
You cannot access the pool before 8 a.m. General seating is on a first come first serve basis. The problem is that there are only 6 umbrellas (fixed in the ground) to provide shade for those lucky few who line up before 8am. This is a huge area and woefully inadequate given the blistering heat for the number of guests crammed in this area. It really is a joke.
In addition, I spoke to a number of people who were attracted to the Sheraton for the sheer size of its infinity pool, which is very long. These swimmers who are interested in doing laps before 8am opening time can’t do so until the pool opens to everyone. Crazy! It’s not a security issue as there are no lifeguards ever at the infinity pool. Sheraton should permit lap swimmers before 8am.
Helicopter Tours
The hotel is close to a takeoff point for helicopter tours. These are not far and few between but non stop especially on weekends. No peace and quiet here. Brutal!!
Overall, while we loved the views and locations, the negatives were pretty overwhelming and we would not return

Our ocean front room provided stunning views of Diamond Head Mountain (floor 9). The infinity pool looked as if it was one with the ocean in pictures and had unobstructed views of the water. Housekeeping occurred every day, with Roger being the BEST housekeeper ever - greeted us with compliments and encouragement each day. The location is insane as we were planted right in the heart of Waikiki, giving us quick walking access to all of the bars, restaurants, and shopping. Our bed was great and I slept amazing all six nights of our stay. Finally, we booked directly through the hotel’s website and were able to get $400 back on our payment when I noticed the price dropped for a New Years special. Thank you, Sheraton and Marriott! We will 100% be staying here every time we visit Waikiki in the future.

My husband and I spent eight nights at the Sheraton Waikiki and were supremely happy with our experience. The hotel is in an idyllic location with views of beach, ocean and Diamond Head from the pools, restaurants and outdoor bars.
Our oceanfront room was spacious with magnificent views of Diamond Head. We enjoyed glasses of wine each evening before heading out to dinner at one of the many restaurants nearby.
In the early morning, I enjoyed sitting with a cup of tea by the Koi pond with views of gardens.
What makes the Sheraton a special and memorable hotel is the warmth and hospitality of the staff. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at Kai Market and sharing our experiences with our waitperson, Kan, and Beverly who greeted us. Special thanks also to Janet at the front desk.
But most of all a special thanks also you to Jason Kim, the Hotel Manager at the Sheraton, who has created such a wonderful resort experience.

The resort is impeccably clean everywhere and the entire staff, front desk, concierge, restaurant, pool servers are all friendly and helpful. Whoever trains this staff does a terrific job!
We splurged on an ocean view room with balcony. Wonderful sunset views from our room. We also had a nice view of the (huge) infinity pool. The pool staff was in the
process of limiting towels to one per person in the morning so no one could save multiple chairs. Great solution for those of us who actually wanted to occupy the chairs. You could then get additional towels as needed. One thing that was really nice was the music from the adjacent restaurant which provided a more festive pool experience. Pool service started at 11:00 and there were many attentive servers. There was also a family (kids) pool on the opposite side of the resort with hot tubs and multiple depth levels. The food at the Sheraton restaurants was just okay with the exception of a terrific burger from the pool bar. Breakfast was particularly pricey. Not a problem though, because there were countless restaurants across from the lobby entrance and great shopping too. Overnight parking was expensive, however, luckily we found Akamai Car rentals who let you park in their lot overnight for free. About a five minute walk from the Sheraton. The Sheraton has a small beach but guests could use the beach adjacent beach at the Royal Hawaiian. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this resort.
