Service is very slow and there are not enough chairs by the pool. There is no shade in the afternoon unless you pay $500 for a daily cabana. No upgrades or breakfast for titanium members. Did not feel like a Ritz experience and was very expensive

We were blown away by the service and accommodations at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki. In a bustling city, this was truly a peaceful oasis. The warm hospitality began even before we arrived, with Jordan providing terrific suggestions for activities and restaurants. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Our room was modern and the overall room layout was very comfortable. The sunset view from the balcony is spectacular. And the location is perfect - easy access to everything and yet set apart from everything too. We loved the pool and went swimming every night after dinner, it was never “a scene” / too crowded. The spa was top notch and even sent me home with a wonderful bag of spa goodies. I can’t wait to return!

Very modern and luxurious hotel in downtown Honolulu. We book booked a one bedroom corner suite. This was nice room as it had many more windows with lots of light. We liked the hardwood floors and the full kitchen. The washer and dryer also was a nice feature. The air conditioner worked great. We also enjoyed the sunset ocean views. Just know that you are in the heart of a busy city with all the city sounds. Only a five minute walk to the beach. Also we enjoyed the Tommy Bahama restaurant which is very close to the hotel. Also, please enjoy a nice walk along the Ala Moana canal which is behind the hotel. We walked to Diamond Head. Long walk but very doable.

We had never visited Oahu, and always heard that Waikiki was a bit “crazy”. Nevertheless, we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in a warm climate (although San Diego is not too bad!) - and booked a week at the Ritz-Carlton in Waikiki. It’s not on the beach, which is fine for us - we live five minutes from the beach in San Diego - but its location is at the edge of the “hot” downtown area of Waikiki. There isn’t one restaurant that is more than a ten minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is more than first class. The welcome (in our case from Sakura) in reception was extremely warm and professional. Our room - ocean view, balcony, and very roomy - was perfect and super clean. The pools (adult only or family) - are terrific, and the view at sunset from the infinity adult pool is spectacular. The staff in all areas are wonderful - Lorna, Jordan and Luis in the concierge department just want to do anything to make your stay rememberable. The valet parking staff - David, Richard, Matt and so many others, just want to help you make your day exceptional. This is no question a “home away from home”, and we cannot wait to return.

I am seating in my suite while I write this review before departing tomorrow. We considered ourselves regulars since this is our 3rd time in this hotel. We love the location and the residence setting and how special this hotel used to make us feel. However, things have changed! What used to be an elegant experience does not exist in this hotel. My experienced was ruined with the check-in and check-out policies. On a good note, housekeeping and valet staff were great. Problem #1. The checking process took 2 hours from beginning to entering the suite. Why? Well, first they had a line of people and it took forever to check-in each person. The new process for check in is lengthy, practically they look for a room at the moment and proceed to tell you how they will add a $200 for incidentals, while everyone hears it behind you…this cheapens the experience. Every communication I had prior to arrival was ignored, which caused confusion, disappointment and caused unnecessary delays. The staff had to begin the process of searching for the room that I requested, it turned out it wasn’t in the rental agreement any longer, however there was a similar room in different floor, eventually we accept that one but waited an additional 45 minutes to be able to enter due to “required inspection by housekeeping”. All of this could have been avoided if the requests had been read by front desk staff and had changed room to new floor since it was the only available. We waited at the pool bar to have a drink in the scorching sun since the bar doesn’t have any shade even with umbrellas at the tables. After 45 minutes of cooking ourselves under the sun, we received a call to pick up the room key. We waited in line again while staff finished other check-ins so we could get our key. Problem#2 no transparency - instead of being up front and telling me that they WILL CHARGE for late check outs, the staff let me to believe that I would be granted a free late checkout, like in previous stays, and told me to “call 2 days ahead to confirm if a late check out was possible.” Well, when I called the staff began to tell me the list of charges depending on the time. I informed staff that my husband is part of the bonvoy marriott rewards with higher status than mine, but they refused to accept it and told me that my name was on the reservation. Well both of us are on the reservation but Ritz rather nickel and dime customers because that is the new policy. Again, this is what a 3 star hotel would do, but again things have changed. If you informed me of the fees up front then I would not have an issue; I have a problem when you don’t have transparency - I rather have an email with the full list of costs upfront, not just a “you may or may not be charged.” communication. Again disappointment and now I will have to stay a half a day at the airport before my evening flight. Problem #3, room service app would not accept an order before the time of opening at 7am! Also, the food takes 45 minutes to get to your room, so I opted for store downstairs. If you get up early then you better go outside to buy food. Problem #4, no hair salon services at the spa. Room only has a hair dryer and no flat iron for straightening hair. This causes one to have to find a hair salon out in Waikiki. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. Perhaps an Airbnb in Waikiki will be sufficient in our next visit. Nobody went the extra mile for me the paying customer, they went the extra mile for the business The Ritz Carlton.

Terrific exterior architecture, and set back several blocks from the crowded Waikiki Beach. But nice area, and convenient mini-mart at the bottom of the hotel. Beautiful, spacious, quiet rooms. Bathroom is large with blinds that open to the bedroom and view. Excellent bar counter with glasses, cutlery and mini fridge. Washer/dryer in room, a nice amenity. There's a nice sized deck to enjoy the view of the nearby park and water, but western exposure just blasts you in the afternoon to when the sun sets. Lobby is non-existent as you go to an upper floor to check in. But large bank of elevators takes you quickly to your room. And the valet service is excellent. Had dinner at the former La Vie (now Terrace) which was average. Slow service, food just ok, and a really obnoxious glaring large white light by the entry at the other end of the restaurant from where you check in. Really interfered with the nice open view. Their other restaurant, Quiora, looks nice but all seating is outdoors, facing west. We tried to have some afternoon drinks and snacks but the western exposure just fries you so we took them back to the room. The hotel is an easy walk to a lot of great restaurants by the beach, like Roy's and Orchids at the Halekulani--both of those were terrific, as was Lewers Lounge at the Halekulani for jazz at night.

The Ritz Carlton Waikiki has become our go-to property whenever we visit the island. We are always greeted with warm hospitality and friendliness, every request we make is met with a smile and handled with ease, making our stay as comfortable as possible. One small but significant detail that stood out during our recent stay was the attentiveness of the housekeeping staff. They noticed that my wife and I had over ten pairs of shoes and sandals, and without us even asking, they brought a shoe rack to keep everything tidy. It's thoughtful touches like this that keep us coming back. We can't wait for our next visit!

I stay with my wife end of July 2024, the room located in diamond tower, which is the newest tower of the 2. Knowing this is mostly a residence, I didn't expect the F&B to be offered. Residences are for your to cook or eat outside. Overall service, attention of front guests, concierges, valet and housekeeping was perfect and we could enjoy quiet well The only minus are the restaurants on location, all rather pricey, but as written above those restaurants are good to go maybe once during the stay. Dean&Luca and island market are located on the ground floor where you can find all the necessities. The residence is well located, 10 min walk from the beach along Fort de Russy park, all units seem to face the ocean. Definitely I will stay again

The hotel is very nice and the standard of room was lovely, where I believed the hotel let itself down was the service provided. You could not use the facilities of the Spa ie steam room or sauna unless you paid for a spa treatment. Our room was not cleaned until late afternoon and as we were suffering jet lag we were out sightseeing very early in the morning so wanted to relax in our room in the late afternoon. We requested a service before midday, however after two days this still wasn't being actioned so I again phoned down to reception and like before was informed the staff were busy and I could talk to them through the Marriot Bonvoy app. I went downstairs to see reception personally and after a 5 minute wait spoke to one of the receptionists, who was very accommodating and organised the room to be serviced every morning from that date. The hotel is a very good standard and what you would expect from The Ritz Carlton. However although the staff were courteous when you requested something it wasn't followed through which definitely left me with a feeling of being underwhelmed.

We’ve been traveling to Oahu for many years and once we found this property it is the only one we consider staying in. We’ve been enjoying it for around 6 years staying at least once a year and sometimes twice. We love the fact it’s in Waikiki within a short stroll to the water and the amenities Waikiki has to offer but far enough away to stay clear of the madness and crowds. We’ve managed to get the same room in the EWA Tower every time given it’s very spacious with a full kitchen, dining and living areas as well as a bedroom and incredibly spacious bathroom. It feels like home. The patio is stellar with clear and central views to the ocean. We love the adult pool and the service from the attendants is top notch. The restaurants have undergone some changes over the years but Quiora’s al fresco dining is still quite good. Dean and Deluca, located on street level is great for a quick bite or coffee and Sushi Sho is STELLAR. Book it way in advance but if you can’t get a seating one can order their bento boxes to go which are ready in the afternoon for you to enjoy pool-side or in-room. There’s also a market downstairs, great for standards. Given you are staying in an actual condo when here, we order groceries from Whole Foods when we arrive and stock our fridge for our stay so it’s incredibly convenient because we often stay at least two weeks, eating out for every meal is not always the ideal. The overall service from the staff is serviceable and courteous, Needless to say, we love it here and it always feels like coming home!

Our 7-night stay was outstanding. We selected this hotel because we wanted a convenient quiet location in Waikiki with ocean views and we wanted extra room. Our one bedroom (32nd flr) was approx 900 sf. It had a separate living room, kitchen w/ dining area, washer/dryer, oversized bath w/enormous double vanity, walk-in shower, separate soaking tub and a very large balcony with ocean views from living and BR. It was large, comfortable, clean and it was perfect for the two of us. The staff are the absolutely amazing! Everyone from valet, checkin, dining and housekeeping are 100% focused on customer satisfaction. No joke, you are treated like royalty! The outdoor dining was spectacular. The food was very good. While this hotel is NOT directly on the beach, it is just a few blocks (5-10 minute walk) from Waikiki beach and shopping district. We were 100% pleased with our 7-night stay at Ritz Carlton Residences!
