Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Beautiful resort across the street from the beach. Excellent location that allows walking to beach, shops and dining. Hotel gives guests access to beach chairs/towels that are easy to carry the short walk to the beach. Room with ocean view and Diamond head view was worth the price. Clean rooms.

Large hotel in a very busy and noisy area. We spent 2 nights at the beginning of a WWII History tour. The hotel is just “ok”. Room was fine and everything was clean. But lots of street noise at night so not restful. Seemed like lots of large tour groups...

Large hotel in a very busy and noisy area. We spent 2 nights at the beginning of a WWII History tour. The hotel is just “ok”. Room was fine and everything was clean. But lots of street noise at night so not restful. Seemed like lots of large tour groups at the hotel. Very small pool area. Across the street from the very crowded beach. Food in the restaurants just ok. Not our kind of place.

We loved this place! The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had! We had an ocean view high floor room and our view was spectacular. While this is an older hotel, it is well maintained and our room and everything around was nice and clean....

We loved this place! The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had! We had an ocean view high floor room and our view was spectacular. While this is an older hotel, it is well maintained and our room and everything around was nice and clean. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and in the heart of all the things! We could walk everywhere and did not have a need for a car. They have an onsite laundry available for you to use, which we took advantage of and didn’t have to pack as much stuff. We spent about 10.00, which included the detergent and bounce we bought at the ABC store. We also loved the atrium area with shops, coffee, etc that is directly below the lobby. We booked all our excursions through the hotel concierge and we had no problems. We definitely would come back!

Overall a great property. Pool was a little small compared to other hotels in the area although hot tub is quite nice. Elevator repair was going on but they allow guests to utilize the service elevators. Grace at the checkin desk was amazing, very knowledgeable.

We had a high level 34th floor ocean front view in the EWA tower (there is also the Diamond tower) and the bed & breakfast package. The rooms were fine spacious, beds are good, the dresser was worn from use, no big deal. The toilet was a bit cramped in our room not ada compliant, but we were fine and not disabled in any form. Yes, there is noise along Waikiki beach but didn't bother us. Location is right across the beach with a street separating. They let you check out complimentary beach chairs for the day to take around the island. Walking in the buffet breakfast is around $42.00 each, my wife and I ate for around $36.50 daily for both of us with the package. Great breakfast, omelettes, scrambled eggs, bacon daily, potatoe (tri tators on some days or another form of potato). Along with the other hot american items you would expect, along with hawaiian fare. Nice size balcony, ours faced more to the west which is nice for sitting out in the am. Good housekeeping- daily. Use the valet service and take the headache out of using the parking garage, the valets were great. Bellman James was great, along with Tessa at the buffet, to mention only 2. All the staff were great. Alot of traffic in the Waikiki area and Oahu in general. Would stay here again. No real concerns except the Toilet space if they ever do a remodel.

This place has the best of everything you expect in a Hyatt Regency, and it's among the best of the best properties in Waikiki. The rooms are huge and well appointed, offering comforts unavailable at several other supposed 4 and 5 star properties nearby. They have a nice assortment of free beach toys for guests, like beach chairs or GoPro cameras. It has one of the best locations, with some of the best views whether facing the sea or land if you're 20th floor or above.

The property needs a major rehab. The carpet and furniture need replacing desperately. I expected much better from Hyatt. The location is great. There is currently construction of a new building behind the Hyatt going on that starts early in the morning which doesn’t help.

2 night stay at Hyatt regency Waikīkī on arrival did pre registration as it was only 0900 asked whether I would like a text or email to advise when room available requested text went back at 1530 as hadn't heard anything to find room was available. Nice surprise as booked double room was expecting no view but was in diamond head and had view of beach and mountains from the balcony. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Bed relatively comfy but only small pillows leading to minimal sleep and also street noise from the police station accross the road and the locals playing music loudly through boom boxes and people doing burn outs. Ear plugs are recommended. Shower not very powerful and can be confusing. Overall happy experience resort fee was cheaper than we had been advised from reading previous reviews. Didn't really use the resort though as was out for most of the time.

We frequent Oahu quite a bit and have stayed in many of the hotels on the main boulevard. But this was by far the best property when it comes to location, room, and the service. It was my birthday weekend and Trisha from the front desk was AMAZING!! She showed me so much aloha love. She gave us complimentary beverage vouchers upon check in but on my birthday she sent up a bottle of wine (a really nice bottle too) and local treats. With a heartfelt card. Absolutely made my day. This is the type of details which will differentiate which hotel to stay upon returning. The entire staff at the lounge was also great. Very attentive, and friendly. The food at the lounge was also impressive. On the higher end of offerings. Our room attendant was also very nice. Making sure our room was stocked with all the amenities. Thank you management for trailing and hiring such spectacular humans

This review happened in April 2025. My wife and went to Oahu, Hawaii for vacation and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The staff was friendly, check in was fast and easy. The room I got was perfect and it was just the perfect size for my wife and me. It was comfortable, clean, and spacious. It had a large TV with a great verity of channels and a nice area to read (My wife used it a lot). The room had a balcony with an oceanfront view. Every night we sat outside with a non-alcoholic pina colada and sat down and listened to music It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. They provide daily housekeeping. We also had the daily breakfast plan included with our room and it was well worth the additional cost. It took care of one meal we didnt have to plan for. I highly recommend the breakfast plan. The hotel is big, but you learn the lay out pretty fast. The front desk is located on the 2nd floor and the pool, hot tub, and fitness center, and restaurants are located on the 3rd floor. When you check in, they give you a list of events at the hotel (Picture included). I suggest you check it out. The farmers market and the Friday Polynesian show is worth checking out. They have an ABC store inside and two outside on the property of the hotel These stores are all over Waikiki and they have everything you might need for your stay. The hotel also has a beach towel distribution machine and all you need is your room key to get as many towels as you need. They are tied to you so if you don't return them, they will be charged to you. The hotel is located right across the street from Waikiki Beach. The area is beautiful, busy, and interesting. Lots of places to eat and drink. We loved our experience at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and we think you should give them a chance. We highly recommend staying. We would do it again.

The lobby is nice, open atrium waterfall and lots of plants is a great way to enter. Location can't be beat, as central to Waikiki beach as it gets. We stayed at the Aston Wakiki Circle last time which was nearly half the price, which is where we would probably stay next time even though its definitely more run down and the rooms are much smaller than the Hyatt, but if you stay 10 days or so it really adds up, probably $2k more to stay at the Hyatt for a 10 day trip. The toilets are the Toto built-in bidet kind, which is cool but if you are over 6 feet tall - its a very tiny toilet and hard to fit on. The hotel itself is a bit dated, some wallpaper peeling off, no updates in probably 20-30 years of the rooms but they are clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice when we requested to be moved so we could see the sunset in our ocean front room (you have to specify or you'll end up in the shade watching other towers watch the sunset - if you care about that from your room). Elevators were a bit slow, $17 for a drink at the pool bar is a bit rough, better off grabbing your own at the ABC stores and just chilling by the pool with some water if you want to save $.

Great location across the street from the beach. Also walking distance to mutilpe restaurants. We stayed here for 6 nights. Our room was comfortable with great beds . Our room was done by housekeeping daily between 10:00am & 1:00pm. As part of our package, we got breakfast included. Great deal as it was the buffet that opened at 6AM. Great selection of food, including an omelet station. We also had lunch 2 days at the pool bar/ restaurant . Good food ,nothing fancy. All the staff we encountered were friendly. There are few oddities about the hotel that keep the review at a 4 not a 5. The lobby is on the 2nd floor . So if you don't use bell services, you need to take your bags up to the lobby on the escalator or walk to the elevator. It is in the shopping area on the ground floor between the hotel's 2 towers. Also the laundry room & lobby facilities should be bigger for this size of a hotel. As should the pool deck. If coming back to Honolulu we would definitely consider staying here again
