Unwavering, personal attention to guests with lovely, comfortable accommodations. Bedding was excellent, responsive air conditioning on demand, and hot water was unfaltering. The grounds are a nature preserve in and of themselves. Food was delicious and beautifully presented with attention to individual preferences and allergies.

Such a lovely place to stay!!!! Cattya and the lovely ladies took such good care of us!!! The rooms were very comfortable, and the meals the ladies lovingly prepared for us were extraordinary. Each meal provided us with a taste of Ecuador. They even made all my vegan meals gloriously...

Such a lovely place to stay!!!! Cattya and the lovely ladies took such good care of us!!! The rooms were very comfortable, and the meals the ladies lovingly prepared for us were extraordinary. Each meal provided us with a taste of Ecuador. They even made all my vegan meals gloriously delicious, including the coffee grown right on the property. The grounds were naturally beautiful and emanated peace, with giant tortoises meandering around and keeping us company through the window of the tranquil yoga studio. The professional massages that were provided helped everyone relax even more. Cattya arranged many excursions for us to explore the islands. All of them were superb and allowed us to get up close and personal with the unique natural life there. Saba the dog and Negra the cat gave everyone unconditional love with all of their wags and purrs. The level of kindness, caring, thoughtfulness and professionalism by the staff at Semilla Verde was simply amazing. I highly recommend this incredible hotel for anyone lucky enough to visit the Galapagos.

Fabulous experience. The room was lovely. The Ecuadorian prepared food was simple and delicious. Coffee right from the hotel grounds was great. Katrien went the extra mile to arrange some extra excursions for us. Could not have been any better

What a perfect way to experience the Galapagos islands! I'm so happy my wife and I chose Semilla Verde Boutique Hotel over a hotel in the town. The grounds are wonderful. We walked the paths and saw the tortoises multiple times per day. It was an easy 10 minute taxi into town for tours, restaurants, and other activities when we needed it. But we loved the quiet and tranquility at Semilla Verde. The pool is refreshing. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The coffee is grown on the property and makes an amazing breakfast even better. And we used the yoga/fitness studio every morning. What a perfect hotel for us. Highly recommend. And we used Guiding Galapagos Tours, who also made our stay in Galapagos an amazing experience.

We had the pleasure of staying a week at Semilla Verde. We were in no way disappointed. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you are happy and taken care of. Catya the manager has truly found her calling. We have never come across someone who so genuinely wants to ensure you are enjoying yourself. The food is amazing and all freshly prepared by the amazing cooks. The freshly squeezed juices are addictive. The tours they can arrange for you are top notch, and all come with a naturalist. The rooms were beautiful and spotless. They can even do some of your laundry if need be. The trip was so wonderful we plan on returning in the future. Tortoises are a plenty on the property and Saba the resident lab will guide you down the many trails protecting you from these beasts. Ha Ha. Do not hesitate to book your stay here. It is truly heaven on earth. One thing about Ecuador. Do not drink the water. It is not safe for consumption. Semilla Verde has purified water in your room as well as throughout the property, as do hotels in Quito.

Morning walks with the dog through the lush grounds were a delight, especially with the turtles roaming freely. The secluded location offered a peaceful retreat, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. The hotel is a beautiful haven that combines stunning surroundings with kind hospitality. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone visiting the area!

The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond, arranging all transportation to and from the airport and the city, making the stay seamless. It was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone visiting the Galapagos.

We stayed at Semilla Verde in June as part of our honeymoon and our expectations were well and truly exceeded. From the point of booking we received a first class service. Robert, the owner, ensured that we were booked on the best trips/excursions to suit our needs and provided us with all the relevant information prior to arrival. We were fortunate to meet him briefly when we stayed and found him to be friendly, genuine and interested in his guests. Cattya, the Manager was absolutely fantastic. She always had a smile on her face and nothing was too much trouble. Her knowledge of the islands and advice on places to visit, local restaurants and things to do was one of the reasons we had such a great time. Everything she recommended was perfect. All the staff were polite and friendly and the food was amazing, freshly cooked using local ingredients. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a large balcony overlooking the grounds. The hotel is set in wonderful grounds amidst the rainforest of the highlands and there are lots of walking trails throughout the grounds and of course plenty of giant tortoises to be seen. In addition the hotel grows and serves its own coffee. Despite being out of town a taxi into Puerto Ayora is only $7 and could be booked through the hotel without issue. Overall this hotel has a real family/homely feel with real attention to detail and an emphasis on the guest experience. It’s set in amazing grounds where plenty of giant tortoises make their home. We’d definitely stay again if we revisit the Galapagos.

Our stay at Semilla Verde was amazing!!! I cannot say enough kind things about the owner, Robert, who we had the pleasure of meeting and also Cattya, who goes above and beyond to help with anything and everything you could possibly need! From making coffee, To booking tours for you, to recommending restaurants and booking taxis. She’s a gem!!! Our room was huge! So spacious, clean, ice cold AC, hot water, so much storage, comfortable bed and amazing views!! The hiking trails on the property and well maintained and offer lots of resident tortoises to see! Breakfast was good and had lots of of options. The resident dog is a joy to come “home” to everytime we got to the hotel. It is a bit of a drive from town….we had to get taxis frequently…but the location was beautiful and worth the time spent in taxis. Santa Cruz was our least favorite island of the 3 we visited…but not because of Semilla Verde! I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Semilla Verde is located in the Highlands in Santa Cruz. The property has a guest house and main house that rests on 12 acres of natural landscape. There are trails throughout the property and wild tortoises (Oscar!!!). The sweetest resident cat and dog also live on the property. The rooms are clean and tidy, excellent/attentive staff (thanks Cattya and all others), and good food. It is quiet and peaceful and sits 15 minutes outside of town. It does require a taxi to get to town/back ($10 each way).
