There’s no denying that this is a beautiful hotel. Sadly, the service is woeful and does not live up to its outward appearances. Yes, I want gorgeous surroundings but I also don’t want to be faced with huge gathering dusty cobwebs in the windows and I want clean, dry towels and a freshly made bed when I come in from a long, hot day sightseeing.
In more (but not all as we don’t have time) detail, we arrived early and were told our room wasn’t ready so we sat by the pool for over an hour until it was. Once ready I was surprised to see that our cases were still in the lobby so we took them to the room ourselves. The room, although lovely was also incredibly dusty by the window seat and when I asked apparently couldn’t be cleaned so we were eventually moved to a beautiful and larger room in the newer part of the hotel, which of course we really appreciated. Heading out at 4.30am for a sunrise tour the next morning we were more than surprised to see two men asleep on the sofas in reception. We returned to our room at 3pm and it had not been cleaned. Whilst waiting for the room to be made up I asked the receptionist who were the two men on the sofas and why were they asleep in the main reception? I was told they were ‘relief staff’. They were not in any uniform and it all seemed very odd indeed.
The hotel may bec5 star but the service is a one star at best.
The men asleep in reception equates it to a hostel.

Siem Reap is something special, and so is the Sarai. The hotel itself is very pleasant, lovely, spacious rooms, more than satisfactory breakfasts, stunning Mediterranean themed pool area (although it doesn't seem to get much sun) - but the highlight is the staff. The Sarai's staff were amongst the best we have enjoyed anywhere in the world - nothing was too much of a problem, cheerful, respectful, welcoming, friendly - they could not have made our stay any more wonderful and made us feel so honoured to be there. The hotel is about a 12-15 minute walk to Pub Street (we took a tuk-tuk for $2US the first couple of times, but once you know your way, the walk is flat and easy, and of course they provide you with a map.) There are a few restaurants very close by (within a minute or two walk.) We would stay at Sarai again without hesitation (we were sad to leave!) and totally recommend this hotel.

We stayed six days at the Sarai Resort & Spa and had a wonderful. We looked forward to the Spa everyday after our long day tours. The spa and masseuses were just awesome and the environment so relaxing. The staff and service was over the top good. I want to call two people in particular Ms.Nasa and Ms.Daren. Each day we looked forward to their warm greeting and they always made sure all our requests were taken care of. I hope Sarai management will recognize them for their professionalism, great customer service, ability to get things done.

We used the hotel as a base to visit Angkor Wat and other temples in the area as well as the many museums.
Best of all were the hotel staff, they must be some of the most friendliest and helpful we have ever met.
We'd definitely recommend staying at the Saira, we very much doubt you'd be disappointed

While it wasn’t a terrible experience, you can find much better options for far less in Siem Reap.

The experience was disappointing and far from five-star, despite the premium price. Our pool had missing and chipped tiles, one of which resulted in an injury. While management promptly moved us to a new room, its pool was equally damaged.
The restaurant was inconsistent, with service quality varying depending on the staff, leading to confusion and frustration for both guests and employees.
Hidden conditions on “included” services and discounts were not disclosed upfront, and restrictions, such as usage times or extra charges, should be clearly communicated.
Additionally, information on third-party booking sites was outdated, and the venue no longer offered or honored certain services, such as the airport shuttle, despite the airport being an hour away.
While it wasn’t a terrible experience, you can find much better options for far less in Siem Reap.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sarai Resort Hotel.
The rooms are really of a high standard.
The hotel has 2 pools a large one with sun loungers on the ground floor and a smaller 3rd floor roof top pool.
Breakfasts are amazing serving a range of Asian and Western food and the fruit section is incredible !
The staff are lovely, extremely attentive and courteous. Our TV needed resetting and staff came immediately to rectify the problem.
The hotel is located a reasonable walk (about 15 minutes) from Siem Reap centre including the Old Market and Pub Street or there are Tuc Tucs waiting outside the hotel.
We are very sorry to be leaving this nice hotel.

My wife and I cruised the Mekong from Vietnam to Cambodia in August. When the cruise was over, my wife and I stayed for 6 nights after the cruise in Siem Reap at the Sarai Resort and Spa. It's a small boutique hotel and we absolutely loved it! The staff was magnificent, the restaurant was quite good, and there were few patrons because it's the shoulder season in Cambodia and they are still recovering from COVID.
The hotel cost us about $650 CAD for 6 nights. We ate there for dinner every night. Dinner and drinks for guests were discounted by 15%. They had happy hour from 5pm to 7pm everyday and everything on the bar menu was 50% off and they delivered it wherever you were in the hotel, even your room! Breakfast was included as well. Finally, they gave you a free 30 minute massage (head, back, and shoulders or foot and legs). The massages were so good we booked two more massages, a 30 minute foot and a 90 minute full body massage. Both were very reasonably priced. The staff was so friendly that we began to feel like we'd known them for a long time. One staff member who knew we were leaving on Monday came in on her day off to give us each a small gift.

We recently spent a few days at Sarai Resort & Spa in Siem Reap. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but there were several aspects that left us somewhat disappointed.
The breakfast was okay, with a decent variety and quality of offerings. However, specialty coffees from the beautiful espresso machine came at an extra cost. At a 5-star hotel, we would have expected these to be included with our breakfast. Additionally, the pastries did not meet our taste expectations.
The Lady from the reception was very kind and helpful. She showed us our room and got a very cute surprise for us 🤗
The rooms were good and comfortable, but nothing exceptional. One major downside was that the rooms couldn't be completely darkened, which caused us to wake up early due to the incoming light. Although the little sofa area was really cute.
The spa and massage services, however, were excellent and a real highlight of our stay. The spa staff was very professional, and the treatments were incredibly relaxing.
The hotel staff was generally very friendly and helpful. However, in the restaurant and breakfast areas, the service was not proactive. We often had to seek attention rather than being attended to promptly.
The pool area looks beautiful at first glance. Unfortunately, the loungers' frames were rusty, and the white cushions were often dirty, which detracted from the overall experience.
In summary, we would rate the hotel 3.5 out of 5 stars. For a 5-star hotel, and despite the affordable price, the overall performance was somewhat lacking.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, always greeting us with smiles and opening doors etc Our room was lovely, the air conditioning was particularly good. The hotel is very clean. There was a lot of choice at breakfast. We enjoyed a daily dip in the pool after visiting the temples. It is easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the staff.

We stayed at the Sarai for 7 nights for our Honeymoon. On arrival the bed was set up with beautiful flowers which was lovely. The room was nice and we liked the window seat, for the price it was great.
The hotel itself is stunning. We went for the free 30 minute foot massage which was very relaxing and a great addition. The beds by the pool are very comfortable with thick cushions. The location is great away from Pub street but still close enough to walk. We used multiple tuktuks outside the hotel which are mostly a set price €2. We used the hotel tuktuk for the private sunrise temple tour and this was well organised and they provided breakfast. Happy hour us half price drinks 5pm-7pm.
The best part of the hotel is the staff and the level of service. You couldn't go through a door without someone opening it for you. Somaly at the bar provided our drinks and happy hour cocktails , she was very friendly and kept our drinks topped up. Riya on reception helped us organise things before we arrived and was always there to help on reception when we needed. Petter the driver was very helpful and gave us a mini tour on arrival pointing out good places to go and answering all our questions. All of the staff made our trip so special we will never forget.
Other information- laundry is nearby and €1 per kilo. There is a cash machine opposite the hotel to withdraw either dollars or local currency. You need to be careful to keep the dollars pristine or they can be rejected.

The staff was just amazing! So hospitable and attentive to literally anything you need. The hotel itself is so beautiful and close to everything you want to check out. The city was nice and not too chaotic so we really enjoyed our stay overall!
