The three most important aspects regarding real estate: Location, Location, Location. Okay, well, at Saffire, add this: accommodations, accommodations, accommodations; dining, dining, dining; hospitality, hospitality, hospitality!
My "mate" and I enjoyed a superlative time at Saffire from the moment we walked into one of the most breathtaking vistas I've ever seen in a hotel/lodge. It’s such a shame we didn’t plan at least 4, although honestly, we could have spent a month here. It was so magnificent, calm and serene and the unlimited food (everything included in the price) was divine. But what really made this location shine were the people who worked here. Across the board, we were made to feel like we were visiting friends, not bunking at a hotel. I am so, so happy that my Aussie friends from “Melbin” suggested going here.
We spent two nights (way too short of a stay) and did adventures like donning a bee-keepers uniform and holding honeycomb from a 40,000 beehive, as well as taking a 12-mile hike into unspoiled landscapes and pristine beaches where we were the only one's swimming and frolicking on the beach. We met adorable Barney the Tassie Devil (and "adopted" him to help save the Tasmanian Devils who are on the verge of extinction due to a rare face cancer), saw wallabies in the wild and feasted our eyes on nature at its best.
Our accommodations were just perfect. They are all in a line, all with views, and nothing in front of you to block the view. Floor to ceiling windows afforded a morning awakening like no other. We opted for the plunge pool, which is really a big bathtub, but well worth the extra dollars for relaxing under the southern hemisphere stars. The products in the room were heavenly, and we had a full kitchen stocked with everything we could possibly want and more. We don't drink, but if you do, this is paradise as everything is included and they stock expensive brands of everything from champagne to wine to hard liquor. We wanted ice cream, and they added it to our freezer, they gave us gifts and took care of absolutely everything. I'm sitting in my home in Los Angeles writing this and wondering how quickly I can get back to Saffire, a magical, enchanting and magnificent paradise on earth.

The rooms are beautiful, the food and drink is great and the complimentary experiences so enjoyable.
Best of all the staff - so friendly and relaxed yet thoroughly professional and helpful.
For us this was a very special treat and we would recommend it to anyone. It is pricey but I feel we got maximum value from our money and would return in a heartbeat.
Well done Saffire team, we had the most wonderful time

Very comfortable and luxurious rooms with all the mod cons. Great fun activities offered. We especially enjoyed the Oyster farm visit with waders walking into the sea to collect and eat our own oysters. Also loved the guidied hikes around he national park and the bee keeping morning was really fun and educational. Would highly recommend Saffire.

Check In was so subtle and professional, I didn’t really realize we had checked in even after we were shown our room. Cameron was very good at quickly figuring out our quirky personalities.
Our room was phenomenal! The room had room to roam, endless conveniences and amenities. Huge wall to wall, floor to ceiling window, highlight the panoramic view of ocean and mountains. Plenty of seating and lounging areas, nice size bathroom with separate tub and walk in shower. Water pressure and temperature was very good.
Bed seemed larger than a usual king size; linens were very nice as well as pillows.
Room had plenty , as well as variety, of teas, coffees, snacks, liquor and wines that were replenished daily.
All meals were exceptional, happy hour daily, wine pairings were offered and/or recommended with very delicious, beautifully presented dinners at night.
We took advantage of a couple of the included experience activities and paid an additional fee for a boat excursion and a helicopter trip to Maria Island. All of which were fun, educational and exposed us to more of Tasmania that we might not have been able to do otherwise.
All the team/staff were very focused on discreet, professional service regardless of their job function. Aside from this experience, we also found everyone to be personable and really seemed to like what they were doing.
A few standouts were Cameron, Will and Fraser; but would mention everyone, I just can’t remember names.
The place could have easily been stuffy and pretentious but was the complete opposite.
We highly recommend Saffire Freycinet.

But what sets Saffire Freycinet apart are the people: Patrick the GM, Corinne and Philippe heading the terrific food service staff, Fraser our fab guide to the Devils and up to Wineglass Bay, and everyone else, Sarah, Niccolo and others too. They turned this experience from mere luxury to true hospitality. Thanks to all for a fabulous visit

From the arrival to the suites, and the food & wine offering to the lovely staff, everything is still top notch. The Marine Farm experience is just as magical as the first time around, and is a must-do activity for any guest.
I will not wax lyrical this time around as I have reviewed Saffire before, but kudos to Patrick and his team for consistently holding such high standards. The best compliment I can pay them is by sending everyone I know here, and we've sent quite a few over the years!

Just spent 3 days at Saffire. Setting, food, beverage, experiences included and service top shelf. Admittedly it comes at a cost but for a special occasion to make one feel special then check out this lodge. We did wine and whiskey tastings plus the bee keeping and oyster farm where you are eating from and on the sea...magical. The staff faultless, passionate, knowledgeable and do unexpected little touches eg. running a bubble bath on my wife's birthday evening with a chilled sparkling wine to hand.

We have just returned from our sixth visit to Saffire, and as always, you feel like family returning home.
Once you arrive, one of the staff will greet you at the entrance, and they will look after your car and luggage. Once inside, you are treated to a breathtaking view of Coles Bay and a glass of bubbly.
This place is just incredible. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, the food is exquisite, the wine list extensive, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. They are situated so that once you're in there, you feel like you are alone in the world, with only the unobstructed view of the bay to keep you company.
They offer many different experiences while you are there. The highlight for us was the Wineglass Bay Water Experience.
Yes, Saffire has its own boat. Matt, the skipper, and Paul, the guide, will take you back in time to discover the history of the Freycinet Peninsula as you take in the breathtaking scenery and wildlife that surrounds you, from dolphins and seals to graceful sea eagles.
Of course, you can also happily sit on the couch and look at the bay, watching the clouds and fog roll in over The Hazards mountains while sampling the impressive minibar.
Undoubtedly, the staff at Saffire are the true stars. Their exceptional service, going above and beyond, ensures a stay that's not just comfortable, but also personalised to make you feel like the most important people in the world.
Special mention goes to the Management Team, led by the General Manager, Patrick Barrie, and ably assisted by the Assistant General Manager, Michael Elmes. We also must mention Will, the Food and Beverage Manager, whose infectious personality adds a sparkle to the dining experience.
Definitely the best luxury lodge in Australia

The experience at Saffire is second to none. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you feel welcomed and valued by all the staff you come across. Whilst it may come at an indulgent price tag, there is immense value in the included 5 star dining experiences at every meal (beginning with lunch before our room was even available before check in), beverages, in room dining and mini bar, and the absolutely fantastic signature experiences/tours which are of the highest quality and all included.
We chose the oyster tour on a previous stay, and the bee keeping experience and connection to country tour this time. All of these were fantastic experiences with entertaining and informative guides.
I’d recommend you plan not to leave during your stay. Make the most of the experiences, first-class dining on offer and relax in the beautiful suites, and if you want to explore this beautiful area, hike, etc. do it when you are staying somewhere else that you’d be more willing to leave.
You’ll feel like royalty here and the price-tag will be long forgotten.

This whole experience was absolutely everything we hoped for and lived up to the reputation and expectations. The photos online and in reviews simply do not do it justice, this retreat needs to be experienced to be believed. In particular the warm, friendly and genuine service that is on par with any local or international luxury resort or travel experience.
From the GM Patrick greeting you on arrival with a sparkling rose, you know you are in for a once in a lifetime stay. The food and beverage experience is unparalleled, the restaurant manager Will is nothing short of exceptional, and was an absolute highlight, his wine knowledge, enthusiasm and friendly nature made a genuine impact on our stay. Every person we encountered in the restaurant was amazing, thank you Nico for the special Martinis!
On the first night we highlighted that my husband did not like seafood, and from thereon he was presented with custom menus every evening. the wine list is exceptional, and somehow Will was even pouring us things that were not even on the list, first class all round.
The spa was one of the best spa experiences we had in the world, we did a few long treatments over two days, Mel the manager was so friendly and professional, and even came to personally say goodbye to us in the restaurant before we checked out, that is service, the La Gaia products are the best we have experienced in a high end luxury spa setting.
The tours were such a highlight (Oyster farm, Tasmanian devil, Waubs distillery and Bee/Honey tasting) its unbelievable tours of this quality are included in the rate Chris the tour guide is the epitome of what a tour guide should be, the gold standard.
Honestly just go, Saffire is beyond compare, we met multiple guests that were there on return trips, and it is now clear why - we are so glad we decided on Saffire for our 10-year anniversary trip, we will be back!

Our Saffire Escape was a truly wonderful experience. Post booking, the team worked hard to accommodate all of our experience preferences. From the initial arrival greeting through to our final farewell, our stay was outstanding. Saffire is the epitome of luxury accommodation and extremely well-run, and this shines through in every interaction with the team, at all levels, totally focused on guest satisfaction.
The property boasts exquisite decor, alongside all the comforts one could wish for. The food and beverages were amazing, offering the flexibility to choose from both the À La Carte and Degustation menus, or a combination of both. The team’s pre-dinner briefings were very instrumental in providing insights on menu selections for guests.
With our choice of an experience-packed itinerary, there was no idle time, with standouts for us being the Schouten Island cruise and the Freycinet Marine Farm experience. We appreciate Saffire's all-inclusive model and the great mini-bar selection.
In summary, it was a totally enjoyable experience, and we will be returning.
