Wonderful hotel. I highly recommend. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed. Lobby is beautiful and the courtyard and pool were just great! We sat in the courtyard every night! Staff was excellent and very helpful. I need to give a shoutout to Joe from valet. So kind and helpful! He was fantastic and took great care of us. We even found 2 bottles of water in the car for our ride out of town. This hotel was also a perfect location for getting all around town.

This is a very nice hotel right on Bourbon Street only 3 blocks off Canal. I feel like this was once one of the best hotels in the city but although it is still very nice I don’t feel that it is in the highest category any longer. They provide valet parking at $55 a day. The check in was fast and easy once check in time arrived. We arrived a couple of hours early and the registration person said your room is ready but if you check in now there is a $75 fee. I know this is not that unusual anymore but I always wonder why. If the room is already ready it costs them nothing to give me the key. Anyway, the room was nice. They could use a little more lighting. There is a window overlooking the courtyard but it was almost impossible to see out the window. The window was in dormer type set up and the desk was under the window with a chair that does not have wheels so you have to look out the window from about 4 feet away. Tip the rooms seem to be set up so that the courtyard views are the odd numbers and the street views are even numbers. You are in the French Quarter so the courtyard rooms are quieter than the street view rooms. The room and the common areas of the hotel are clean and nicely appointed. Another interesting thing for a top line type hotel is when you arrive at valet parking they help get the luggage out of the car but then there is no bellman to get the luggage into the building, up the elevator to registration. Once at registration there is someone to get the luggage to the room. It is just interesting there there is a gap there. Overall this is a very nice hotel right in the middle of the fun of the French Quarter. You really can’t go wrong staying here.

Absolutely fantastic stay!
This place was absolutely amazing! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had a fantastic view. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of everything. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting!

This hotel was clean and all the staff was super nice. It's right in the middle of the action, we had a balcony room which was fun but also once you shut those doors and put the drapes in place you can sleep well. The spot across the street is a close easy place to grab breakfast and we really enjoyed Felix for lunch just a block down. Erin Rose is around the corner for their famous frozen coffee and Saddle is around the other corner for a ride in the bar on the 2nd floor.

Stay at the Royal Sonesta was pretty good! The doorman Caleb was an absolute joy to be welcomed. He made the initial experience so special and the departure experience even better we can’t wait to come back knowing that we will be welcomed by Caleb! The front desk staff was OK! housekeeping was not so great, but I feel like that’s pretty normal in my experience with hotels. Housekeeping staff have difficult jobs and retention is high. Sucks that me as the customer always feels that part the most. Anyway overall good stay,
Would recommend! Loved that Desire the restaurant is right downstairs and yummy! Also I was impressed that even though the hotel is on bourbon, the rooms don’t hear a thing!

Come here if you want exceptionally rude customer service and a level of ignorance from the coffee shop staff that is beyond anything I can put into words. No house keeping as we’d allegedly had our DND on for the 4 days we were here (we did not) and the restrooms in the courtyard hadn’t been cleaned or replenished since Christmas 2023 let alone 2024.
When checking in it seemed perfectly acceptable to be dropped off in the basement, which is fine except it’s impossible to get in without a keycard and the intercom doesn’t work!
When checking out the rudeness of staff here extends to not caring about my accessibility needs and I was told that despite a disability I would need to take my luggage down the street as a taxi to the basement “was not an option”.
Put my concerns in email to management prior to checking out. This has been ignored.

A beautiful hotel on Bourbon Street ! That captures the spirit of this hotel. We were there while they were decorating for the holidays, and that added to its ambiance.
Driving to the hotel was a bit of challenge--Bourbon street before a football game, construction street closures, etc.--but we persevered and succeeded. Parking was well managed. We arrived at 1:30pm and was offered a choice of "early checkin" for $70 or wait until 4 pm--neither being very satisfactory. We had a room at the back of the hotel, and it was quiet. No breakfast, but Cafe du Monde is a great backup.

I rarely write reviews, but our exceptional experience at Royal Sonesta New Orleans is worth sharing. On top of being a beautiful quintessential French Quarter property, the Royal Sonesta is the epitome of southern hospitality. From the sweet girl in PJ’s pastry shop and the friendly servers in Desire to the most helpful front desk staff, we were amazed again and again. When we had a question on our bill, Emika reassured us it would be taken care of, and it was. The location was within walking distance to numerous shops, restaurants, and French Quarter sites. We are not Bourbon Street fans, so we preferred to use a side door to the property and avoid it altogether. We had a wonderful interior balcony room with a view of the courtyard and pool area and no noise whatsoever from Bourbon Street. The pool was very warm like a spa which allowed guests to enjoy it on 70 degree days. Overall the staff and property are absolutely wonderful, and we’re recommending all our friends and family stay here!

Fantastic location and staff, the Jazz Playhouse and pool area are fantastic. Bathroom was a little tired and water was $8 a bottle. But overall it was a true slice of New Orleans. Very much recommended and overall we are glad we chose this hotel.

Had a slight hic up with our first room as not cleaned but quickly allocated another. Great toiletries available with a fantastic bathroom. The coffee/tea machine also a great addition along with a fridge! A safe also available. The room as well as the hotel fantastically clean. Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately no time to use the pool but looked fantastic.
