Reviews of Rocky Gap Casino Resort
Fun well maintained resort. However, the meals were not very good at all.
The employees are very friendly and helpful. Robby and Angie, bar servers, were exceptional friendly and helpful. We love the outside areas. We were there in the winter so we didn't use the outside but it was fun watching it snow on the lake. We do have one huge complaint!...

We do have one huge complaint! The food is very sub-par. They don't seem to have enough waitstaff and the food, in every location, was poor. A special place like Rocky Gap should definitely have a to- notch chef. This problem is affecting whether we will book again.

We were scheduled to stay for two nights (October 12 and 13). We arrived on the 12th around 7 and went to our room. The toilet had mold in it and there was a wad of hair on the counter. The bathroom door handle had two different parts that were attached to each other that did not go together and looked questionable. My biggest complaint was when I requested a refund for the second night and was denied. I called the front desk to tell them I did not feel safe. Around 11:00 the first night, a woman was outside our room screaming and swearing and yelling that she was going to kill everyone and screaming in the phone that someone needed to get up to the floor and give her a key to the room or she was going to rip the heads off of someone. This went on for a while and then stopped. She then came back and it happened again before someone (it sounded like a police officer or security guard) came and told her she needed to settle down and escorted her out after she continued to yell. This did not feel like a safe place and I did not feel comfortable staying a second night. We left early the next morning. This was supposed to be a special weekend away for my husband and me. Would definitely not recommend.

We had visited the Rocky Gap Casino on several occasions and always found the casino to be clean, smoke free and player friendly. On a recent stop, we were able to stay overnight at the resort. We were given a handicap accessible room with double beds. The room was spacious, clean, had modern finishes and had a pleasant smell. The mattresses were comfortable and I had no issues with the pillows which is sometimes a problem for me in a hotel because I don’t like overly firm pillows.
I really like this location for a couples get away or a golf outing with friends. A few small negatives beyond the room rate which tends to be high at this resort and standard taxes there is a resort fee of $28 charged which I did not see much value in. I stayed in the hotel, played the casino and didn’t use any other amenities.
The other is the food is so/so for the price so you might want to consider eating in nearby Cumberland. There are several good dining options and a couple of breweries there.

Live music plays until 10:00PM ET, so keep that in mind if booking Lake view with room views (near the music stage). For the room itself, mattress, pillows, and sheets were old and in need of refreshing. Anything above 5 feet in room doesn't get dusted. Shower curtain smelled and needed a good cleaning.

Pool could be slightly cleaner and the beach area has tones of small rocks as you’re trying to get into the lake. They really need to clean this up to be five star in my book. Otherwise I’m rating it four star. I would come back thought.

We had a great weekend experience at Rocky Gap Casino and Resort. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday. Check in was smooth. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The on site restaurants were friendly and the food was good. Prices not bad. They have happy hour specials. The outdoor space is spectacular! Private beach area, tons of outdoor seating around the beautiful lake. Live music on the weekends and many bonfire seating areas. We especially loved the pavilion seating
area with views of the duck families and gorgeous lake. We even did a little fishing from the pavilion, ordered pizza from the grill and sat there and had a lovely time. Casino was fun! Be sure to collect your $15 free play credit. I did and walked away with $115 in slot winnings! Will definitely return!

The positives: We have been coming to Rocky Gap since 2000 and love the beautiful lake. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice time having appetizers, beer, and listening to a singer at Signatures on Saturday afternoon. The casino was fun evening entertainment, even though we lost.
The negatives: Constant music playing outside. The live musicians have to compete with it. Yes, the music through the speakers continues during their performances.
We went out to enjoy the sunrise and coffee by the lake, but it was ruined by the incessant music.
The morning music was especially bad. The afternoon music was decent songs, just not appropriate to have it competing with the musician.
There was no serenity on the resort grounds!

I always have a great time at Rocky Gap. Such a beautiful place. This time though I do have a few negative items. I love the new beach area, but the lounge chairs were uncomfortable and could have used some cushions, plus were at a slope so you were always sliding out. The cabana rental price (75) for a day seems high. The pool had no towels for 2 days. The air conditioner in our room kept breaking. We called maintenance and he said if you put the temp too low it locks up. It did it several times while we were there. Luckily we saw what he did to fix and learned not to set temp below 70.

Well since the new owners took over it has gone way down hill. After a long drive ( 4 hours ) we tried the pizza at the lobby bar when we got it to the room it was barely cooked with raw dough. The next morn we went to the pool no towels, i knocked on the door across from the pool and a 20 year old said go to the front desk ,I asked can you call please he said no. I went to the front desk another 20 year old ( Raven said it would be 30, minutes for towels. I requested a manager she said no manager she was the supervisor and in charge and would call after taking care of the next guest I said am i not a guest she was nasty and rude. 1 hour later still no towels.

Our room on the 5th floor had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, we had food 3 times from the lobby bar Cafe, and it was great, as were the employees who served us. All areas, including casino, were clean, smelled fresh. Folks were winning in casino! Can't wait to go again.!

Truck stop casinos are better
I've been to over 200 resort casinos and I can unequivocally say this is by far the worst casino I've eve been to. The "suite" bathroom is a closet. I've been to truck stop casinos with better service and amenities. Too much too list wrong with this place.

I don't ever leave reviews, but this was an interesting experience. My husband and I were looking forward to our weekend getaway but had to leave the "resort" and go back home the same night smh. Our room on the 4th floor was infested with ladybugs (lamp, behind the TV, around the convector, on the bed, and ceiling above the bed). Even when we packed on things to go downstairs, there were a few right on the ceiling as we waited for the elevator. Also, one of the pillows in the room had a weird stain in it which was gross. When asked to switch rooms, they were all booked and we were told they can have someone go and vacuum it. Y'all should've checked the room/clean it before having guest in there. Never again!!

On January 11, I booked a Lakefront King (which was an upgrade) room for 2 nights in March. Checked in on a Friday night and over the course of 2 nights, moved to 4 different rooms. First room - view of a wall, 2nd room - view of a roof, 3rd room - view of parking lot and infested with ladybugs - on the floor, on the windows, in OUR BED!!! Disgusting. Housekeeping came in and said "you need to move to another room". We moved to our 4th room (finally a lakefront) only to be woken up at 4 AM by someone trying to get into our room. And then a call at 4:30ish AM from the front desk asking my name to confirm who was in the room! What a nightmare! 6 calls into the Operations Manager who promised a 2 night future stay with a promise that our next visit would be a positive experience. He said he was putting the certificate in the mail. As of today, I haven't received anything as promised. A very disappointing stay from start to finish.

My husband and I went to RG on March 10 to celebrate my birthday. We had been there in January and in the fall of 2023. We had also travelled there several other times because we love the atmosphere there and the staff. Frankly, they are the best part of this establishment -- always cheerful, accommodating, helpful and respectful. Couldn't ask for more. We get promotionally-priced rooms because of our play at the casino. On this trip I was surprised to find balloons, a slice of chocolate cake and a card signed by staff members to celebrate my birthday. While there I had a manicure and a full-body massage, which were booked ahead of time. There is a spa there that provides a number of services. Dinners were delicious, and service was quick because it was still more of an off-season time. We highly recommend you visit here BUT please be aware that it is a RESORT and everything is priced accordingly (read "more expensive"). But once there you can go from your room to an indoor/outdoor pool and exercise room; eat lunch at Signature's Bar and Grill where there is outdoor seating under roof; play at the small but fun casino. This is also a State Park where beach access is provided. That is why Resort fees are included in the price of a room.

We have been going here since they opened. The help here are terrific, the views from the rooms great. We always got free rooms and good slot dollars. Now the new company charged us $60 a night which included taxes and RESORT FEES . They have also now very limited food options on Monday the only restaurant open was the expensive Lakeside. We lost all our comp dollars the host said they were trying to fix that but we could not use them on this trip and i doubt they will fix the problem. We also got less slot dollars. We ate at the Lakeside and as usual the food was not good. I will say the waitress Allison and the hostess Lisa were great. THIS IS NOT A GOOD START FOR THE NEW COMPANY !!!!!!!!!
