Having arrived a day early for our week in Kasane, we needed a place to stay for a night to rest from our long journey. I found River View Lodge and what a delight - a haven of tranquility, situated on the bank of the Chobe River, the lodge was an ideal stopover for us. The welcome was very warm and the food was great. Although we didn’t partake, we understood they offer safari trips into the park and boat rides to see the amazing wildlife. No hesitation in recommending River View Lodge for a warm welcome in a peaceful location for short stays and even longer.

The customer service at this intimate retreat right on the Chobe River was out of this world. From the beginning to the end we were impressed. Super-friendly staff happily accommodated my request for vegan and gluten free food. The cook baked fresh gf bread, especially for me, brought us non-dairy milk, and they made breakfast plates of delicious cooked vegetables, potatoes, and seasoned baked beans, in additon to the the regular cereals, toast, and fruit, etc. They put together a lovley pre-packed breakfast for us when we had to leave early for a boat trip. Both breakfast and a 2pm lunch (set menu) were included and they made gluten free pasta for us for lunch. There was salad to to go with it, and we were set. When I needed an adapter for an American appliance one of the staff went out and bought one for the lodge that I could use. We were in the house, which is very spacious and has its own private patio overlooking the Chobe River where we could see all kinds of bird life. It was pleasant and clean and we had a wonderful stay there. The gardens are very nicely kept and there is an electric fence to keep unwanted animals out. There isn't a lot of room right on the property to take walks, but all the other benefits more than made up for that

A boutique lodge nestled on the banks of the Chobe River. The room was spacious, clean, airconditioned with a hot shower. Food was delicious and plentiful and they were able to cater for my gluten free requirements as a ceoliac. We were able to arrange for a Chobe Safari and river cruise from reception. Staff were friendly and the resident banded mongoose a delight to watch as you sit by the pool. If you are looking for a quiet oasis in an intimate setting this is your place.

We loved River View Lodge beyond expectation. An incredibly customer-oriented staff showed us our room (little house), that combined atmosphere and practicality. Everything was so well thought of: electrical plugs, storage for bathroom necessities, etc. Already the first evening we saw hippos and warthogs behind the fence, right in front of our terrace. River View Lodge is a place we definitely want to revisit!

A lovely peaceful place to stay. Friendly staff. Excellent boat trips on river where the game is unbelievably plentiful. Good guides. Game drives in early mornings by all included. Nice food. Comfortable rooms. All day coffee and chilled water. Lovey place to explore Chobe game reserve.

River View Lodge is the perfect place to stay for a Chobe National Park safari adventure! The activities on offer are amazing, we did two 5:30am game drives and Matthew was a fantastic guide, we fully trusted him and his footprint tracking and ended up being the first truck to see lions one morning! Our favourite experience were the boat trips, of which we did two at 3pm in the afternoons, and both were so different - the abundance of wildlife on the island and around the riverbanks was incredible! Highlights being seeing a mother and her baby elephant swim across the island and a pride of female lions approaching a buffalo kill, with onlooking crocs nearby!! The lodge itself is luxurious, with very large rooms and comfy beds, gorgeous grounds and resident mongoose! The food was all delicious and the staff really kind and attentive, thank you for a great stay!

This was our second stay at river view lodge (previously in 2022) and as usual an excellent service from all the team. Our room was clean with hot water shower and quiet. A three course dinner is available for an extra charge if ordered in advance and was delicious as usual. And breakfast includes yoghurt, fruits, cooked breakfast including eggs. H Whenever visiting Kasane this is the only place we consider staying at as it’s excellent service, meals, good location. Everything you need.

We had a great time at this very nice lodge ! The staff is very kindly. The meals were so delicious and with lots of love served. The organzition of the day trips was good as well. Perfect days of our vacation !

We are a Swedish couple who spent two nights at this lovely lodge in June 2023. The accommodation is spacious, the surroundings are stunning, the food is very good and the activities well organized. Compared to more expensive lodges River View Lodge gives great value for the money.. We had two game drives and two boat tours - the guides were very knowingly and made their best efforts to maximize our experiences. We guess it s the nature experience that makes most people come here and that certainly didn't t disappoint. All in all we have nothing but great things to say about River View Lodge.and it comes highly recommended
