We LOVED this resort! The people make it so memorable, just to name a few, Oscar every morning at the breakfast buffet was so sweet and pleasant, always remembered our names and made us feel at home. Juan and Ricardo were our drink servers at the pool and they were so good! Truly will miss them. Even though our room had a musty smell it was huge with plenty of storage and nicely done. The view was so good. It’s a bit chilly in the mornings and evening but the days were so nice and needed as we’re from the Midwest. In a whole Mazatlan is so much “cleaner” than other parts of Mexico and we will be back for sure!

This was our first visit to Mazatlán and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations. Our room was in the centre of the complex overlooking the pool and ocean. We have been to numerous all inclusive in Mexico and the food at Cilantro’s was by far the best we had experienced. The waiter Isai and his team at Cilantro’s were excellent and very attentive to our needs. At the outside bar we like to give special praise to both Joel and Julio. They always had a smile on their faces and from our conversations with them, we really felt they were trying to make our stay a very enjoyable one. They are really good at what they do and an asset to the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Me and my fiancé recently stayed at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán for our traditional end of year trip. I would never stay at any of their hotels again!!! To start with the front end upgraded us to a larger room, so we thought sweet. As we entered our room we were like its nice with an awesome view. As we start looking around and it fells like a large room empty room with a couch, table, lamp and tv (big blahh). My fiancé is like where our bed and it ends up being at the back of the room where you can hear all the outside car noise. To be honest it felt like a motel, then my fiancé noticed that there was no mini fridge. Like how that can be it must be hidden but nope there is no mini fridge. Their reasoning was “this is an all-inclusive hotel there is no reason for one when everything is included”. I stood there like that makes no sense, but then he told me every time we want to order room service, we have to pay $4. Like making it make sense, like if you want water at 11 PM, GUESS HOW MUHC I HAVE TO PAY. When we ordered they forgot this and that. No napkins etc. I told the front end that I might as well go a block away at Oxxo and buy one for less than a $1. Oh, wait then the next morning, me and my fiancé just wanted coffee and some pastries to take to our room. The lady at the only restaurant that service half ass breakfast tell me “You cannot take any pastries, but I can take those throw away cups with coffee or order room service”. I told her that I was not going to pay $4 for coffee and pastries, that this made no sense. She went on to give me an attitude and offered me some napkins to take two pieces of pastries or that I can put them in a cup. I was upset that I told her “You offer me a napkin for a $600+ a night that I am paying”. Then I went to the front desk and got the same attitude and a “YOU CAN WAIT FOR THE MANAGER THAT GETS HERE AT 9 AM”. I did not bother at that point because I knew no one would help in any way or form. The staff at the main pool bar were helpful and the drinks were good. The food quality and variety let’s just say was nonexistence at the resort. For breakfast I would just get your basic eggs, potatoes for the single day they had them and sausages which you had to ask for. The other restaurants let me not even start because I ate more turkey club sandwiches than anything. Oh wait if you do not return their cheap towels they will charge you $25 each when they are $2 max. Oh they forgot to mark ours as returned and the guy made it seem like he was doing us a favor and checked them in. They charge you $600 a night yet try penny pinching every little thing they can. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE OTHER THAN THE VIEWS NOTHING IS “BONITO” ABOUT THIS RESORT. LET ME JUST STOP HERE JUST A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!

I just read a scathing review of Emerald Bay. I feel compelled to share our experiences.
We have come to Pueblo Bonito for thirty years.
First, I will tell you the people/staff are exceptional. It is important to remember you are in Mexico. There are no ADA laws to ensure easy walkways. The resort is set up to be a lush garden. Alfredo has designed it to have that experience.
Maria took great care with our room. Everything was clean and smelled fresh. We had an issue with our screen door that was quickly resolved.
We are mobile. Yet, I have watched many with mobility difficulties get around the resort with caring help from staff. One just needs to ask. A stop at the “adult pool” will connect with those with mobility needs. Many are guests who have come to Emerald Bay for many years.
As for the cultural experiences, go on a city tour that can be arranged at the resort. Mazatlan is an old Mexican city with many cultural experiences.
Every place a traveler visits will not have everything they want. However, it is so important to engage with the culture and community!
It’s a beautiful resort and the people are great. Mazatlan is welcoming and exciting to explore.🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

We will not be playing any of the games since she is not there. We always looked forward to the activities !!! We will not play with that guy.

Carlos at the front counter was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the bar by the pool were always making sure everyone had what they needed from water to drinks. No glass went empty. Enjoyed spending time with friends at the beach. Thank you for your hospitality.

Our beautiful place, Paty at the front desk always with her beautiful face and beautiful smile, always very helpful, our room is perfect, wonderful sunsets that I keep in my heart, Noe, Oscar and Lorenzo always attentive with a wonderful service, I have to say that it is not the same without jasmine! The activities department is definitely no longer what it used to be, the experience is not the same, its absence has left a mark and it is noticeable in every detail, the standard of activities has faded and declined, there is no direction, we hope that the management Listen to those of us who have noticed this great difference, the return of Jazmin would not only be a great success but also a necessity to give back to the hotel the essence that we miss so much !!

Let’s start with the awesome…
Amazing service here. The people that work here treat you like family. They all seem happy and they really made our week.
Great location in mazatlan, quick ride from the airport as well.
Balcony faced the ocean, view was excellent.
Beach was nice and clean. The pools were pristine.
No lack of lounge chairs, we never had to race down at the crack of dawn to ensure we got one. We took our time!
Food was very good, particularly the Italian restaurant.
Air con worked well.
Lots of hot water and pressure was good.
The not so goods:
WORST BED I’ve EVER slept on in my life. And I’ve stayed in some real cruddy no-tell motels in my life. It was like sleeping on a metal grid with a sheet over it. I ended up sleeping on the couch, sadly it was better but not by much. It was so bad I actually have bruises on my hips. For this reason alone I wouldn’t return.
The room really needed a deep down cleaning as well as some items needed straight up replacing. There was dirt in the corners, the closet floor was filthy. The mirror looked like it should’ve been replaced 20 years ago.
This resort says rooms have kitchenettes, but they don’t. Rooms don’t even have a bar fridge with basic drink service. This is ridiculous to me, it’s a very basic service on these types of vacations. I was able to get a mini fridge delivered to the room to at least keep water bottles cold.
There is an 80 peso delivery charge for room service. It’s ridiculous to be nickel and dimed when you pay for an all inclusive vacation. Service was fast and food was hot though.
Don’t like the towel deal though, sometimes one extra towel is just needed!

Met Patty at check in desk.Always a smile to greet guests and very helpful during our stay.Caught up with friends we met last year from Minnesota having their annual stay with others! We stayed for 9 nights, comfy king bed and great view of the ocean! Really like the smaller resort feel. (247 rooms).Pools had comfortable water temperature but lack cushions on the loungers.Fun daily watching the surfers.Met up with favorite beach vendors for silver (Leonardo)& bead jewelry(Lupita). Paloma’s Restuarant was great for breakfast buffets and Isabela made up our yummy special order omelettes. Enriquez and Adrian were right there with coffee or mimosas! Palapa pool bar Richardo and Juan were great servers offering daily happy hour specials! Cilantro’s Restaurant was nice for outdoor lunches and dinner inside with a great bar. Wonderful friendly service by Isai,Luis and Pedro! Water aerobics, cards, daily bingo was fun with Charles! We will definitely return next year! Gracias Sharon & Doug

Special shout out to Armando and Jesus at the Pescados restaurant/ pool bar who were so kind, always kept a drink in our hands, and helped me with my weak Spanish, as well as Pedro at Cilantros Restaurant/ bar who makes the best mojito.
If we ever have the opportunity to come back we will.
Gracias por todo Pueblo Bonito!
