This is one of the nicest resorts we have visited. The location is super private and wonderfully scenic. Resort is smallish but the property is very spacious and feels private. Food was very good & the staff was friendly. The spa and gym in particular were first rate for a resort property. I got an awesome massage in what I thought was a very high end peaceful experience. Gym has all the equipment and space you need. We also visited a few local restaurants nearby which were also good Nevis is right across the water and was a fun day trip. Overall a really restful trip at a private resort property. We will definitely return.

Considering this property recently touted a four star review on Forbes, the overall experience has been disappointing.
While a welcome drink awaited us upon arrival, there was no one to direct us at valet or offer assistance with the six occupied self parking spots. We had alerted the property we would be arriving early (when most flights to the island arrive) and were curious to see what room we would have, having been previously alerted several days prior to the availability of upgrades. On our way to the hotel, we received a notice that our upgrade request was not going to be honored due to high occupancy/lack of availability. (Online, they were still selling several room types, including upgraded suites).
Our check in attendant seemed confused and proceeded to say ‘I am pleased to say that we have upgraded you to the room you originally booked.’ Needless to say, we were equally confused. Though we watched others from our flight check in, we patiently waited and had a nice lunch at one of the property’s three restaurants, Great House. The service was great and a perfect view over the bay looking out to Nevis.
After about 90 minutes with no update, we went back to the lobby to ask for any progress for our room. We had asked our luggage to be stored while we waited, only to find it sitting outside in the sun. After watching eight staff members standing around, we took our luggage and waited in the lobby. A manager finally came over and said our beach front suite was now ready. Curiously the ‘beach front suite’ was located at the top end of the property nowhere close or in site of a beach. Fortunately the room redeemed itself — spacious sitting room, dressing area, bedroom and bathroom, with a good sized terrace with two lounge chairs and lounge bed. The property opened in 2017 and is starting to show its age.
Dining:
We are still on property and it does seem necessary to explore off property dining options as the dining options at the hotel feel limited very quickly, both in cost and quality. We had dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf, one of three restaurants on property; lively, live music, overlooking the water. We both ordered the fish sandwich and it was inedible— very cold and rubbery, as if it had been made an hour prior and then sat under the heat lamp. Our server kindly removed them from our bill.
Sunday Brunch at Great House was very good— plenty of options and variety. The ambience was a bit strange for a Sunday brunch, with a DJ loudly playing music for the duration.
From a service and property maintenance stand point, the property is lacking. Trash is routinely left around the pools; towels aren’t always available; they just need an upgrade. Out of all of the staff on property, the grounds team are probably the most attentive and seem to conform to luxury Four Seasons and Ritz standards. Pros are that there are plenty of beach/pool chairs and you don’t have to fight for space, though it is surprising that this property allows cruise ship day pass visitors, which can crowd some areas at time

Prices are expensive in St Kitts and Nevis, since practically 100% of all goods have to be imported. With that in mind, one could forgive increased costs for accommodations and services, but there has to be limits, and the costs at this Hyatt properly vastly exceed those at Hyatts in a dozen or so other countries that I have visited. The cost for a room during the high season can hover around $1000/night, and to this one adds the high cost of food and beverages. The breakfast buffet at the Great House, for example, costs around $75 (USD, which includes the 18% gratuity and 12% tax), even though the selection of items is a little less than offered at other Hyatts. Expect to pay at least $250 for a dinner for two.
The quality of the food and cocktails, however, is top notch.
We managed to snag a ADA (for persons with disabilities) room for 35,000 World of Hyatt points per night. The rooms deficiencies were that the immense shower area would overflow with lakes of water flooding the bathroom floor, soaking any towels left on the ground. The TV was antiquated, with horrible sound quality. No premium, commercial-free channels available, only the basic cable selections. What would a smart TV cost these days, $500-$700, with the ability of one to use the subscription streaming services of home?
My wife had a facial scheduled at the Sugar Mill Spa, that we had confirmed at 10 AM one day. She gulped down her breakfast fast to get the the Spa before the appointed time, only to find the person assigned to her hadn't arrived to work yet. She canceled the appointment after waiting 20 minutes. Yes, maybe things here go on "island time," but then it is us who have to scramble to show up for our appointed tour/flight/whatever.
The grounds of the Park Hyatt must cover 10-15 acres, but one can summon a golf cart to take you to your destination with a phone call. Nice!
If one does not have to worry about one's wallet, then the Park Hyatt St Kitts is worth visiting.

The food during our stay was excellent as well. We dined at the Fishermans Village during this stay. It was a mix of traditional classics and local cuisine. Great flavors and again superior service. Can’t wait to go back later this year.

We had a great experience over all.
I'd like to extend a special thank you to T-Shanda. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our happiness and satisfaction, providing us with a personal touch that made our stay exceptional. She is a true professional.

Beautiful spot. All is fine unless you like Long Beach walks or reasonable service. The beach is short and is very rocky except for a small patch near the entrance. There is a nice pool. Service was really bad across the board: reception, concierge especially. One bright spot was the wonderful man who ran room service who arranged a meal outside for us on a night when the Great House was closed without notice. It was nice to be warm but is very expensive and no value.

This is a dangerous resort for people with allergies. I told the staff I had a fruit, shellfish, and tree nut allergy each and every time I sat down to eat. On 3 separate occasions they served me my allergies: I was first given a bowl of tree nuts (Fisherman’s Pier), then mango was put on a sandwich (luckily I did not eat it because my husband took a bite first), and then they substituted vanilla ice cream for coconut without telling me (Great House), because they ran out of vanilla. That time I ate it because I didn’t know and I had a reaction. I took benedryl but suffered with painful swallowing all night. The staff blamed me and said that I ordered that dessert last night and was fine (because it was VANILLA the night before!). The server also laughed at me while I waited for my husband to run to the room to get benedryl because the kitchen “didn’t realize coconut counted as one of my allergies.” They also never cleaned our sheets, just pulled them up, and we slept in sand at our feet every night. We had laundry service done, not only was it $200, but they didn’t return my expensive lightweight zip up and didnt mark it on the receipt. Luckily, I remembered I had put it in the laundry and went to the front desk to ask if they had it. They returned it to me later that day (I think someone was going to keep it for themself because they never recorded it in the item list from the start, but then found it after I complained). Also, a simple meal such as 2 burgers and fries were $170. They add 18-30% on top, and when we said “is tip included?” we were told no and to add a tip. Do not come here, mostly out of safety concerns if you have allergies.

We stayed at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts for 6 nights, Sunday - Saturday, in room 902, a beachside king suite in Building 9. The location of our suite afforded excellent privacy, as it’s a corner room, so we only had neighbors on one side and very little foot traffic. Our well-shaded terrace opened right out to the Ramparts adults-only infinity pool, providing many a days worth of relaxed lounging with a beautiful view of not just the pools and beautifully manicured grounds, but also of Banana Bay. The suite layout is very spacious, with sliding plantation-style doors fully enclosing the bedroom. The bathroom could be accessed through a couple of different sliding door entrances and the closet was very large, with plenty of hanging and drawer space. There is a full-size sofa bed in the living room. Building 9 is also conveniently situated directly in front of the well-appointed gym and spa, a major location bonus for us, given our recreational interests.
We ate onsite for most of our meals. Hyatt Globalists enjoy complimentary breakfast from both the buffet and a la carte menu, which made for abundant and delicious breakfasts everyday (and an incredible value!). We also enjoyed dinner at the Great House restaurant and found the food uniformly delicious across all meals. The Caribbean Sunset BBQ is not to be missed— what a luxurious spread!
Service at the Great House was also excellent from all the staff. A special shout out to Nekeisha, who remembered all of our dietary preferences across the week and always went the extra mile. Iesha was always so welcoming and helpful and Tisah was very thoughtful and considerate. And a particularly big thank you to David and Fernando for their help ensuring we had just the type of accommodation we wanted— we were so happy with the suite!
The only suggestion we have is to improve the quality of some of the water sports equipment. Some of the single-seat kayaks had broken adjustable foot rests, resulting in an inability to comfortably sit according to leg length. For the standup paddle boards, some of the paddle handles would not lock, which meant the handles would rotate and slip and slide down while paddling. It would also be great to add a rowing machine to the gym, though the existing equipment, including 2 Peloton bikes, was great.
All in all, we truly loved our week at this beautiful resort: gorgeous location and landscaping full of blooming trees and shrubs, wonderful accommodations, great customer service, generally really good facilities, an abundance of recreational options, and onsite water taxi service to Nevis (rent an ATV there from Kevin at Nevis Scooter Rentals: it’s the best and most fun way to see Nevis!). We plan to return to the Park Hyatt St. Kitts and have recommended it already to family and friends.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts Review
The Park Hyatt St. Kitts is undeniably a beautiful property. The architecture is modern and elegant, and the resort itself is well-maintained with lush landscaping and picturesque views. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful—everyone we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The gym is very good, well-equipped, and spacious—definitely good for those who like to stay active while traveling. There’s also a great adults-only pool, which offers a peaceful escape. That said, it’s important to note this is not an adults-only resort. It’s very much geared toward families, particularly those with young children, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a more serene, adult-focused experience.
The beach was a bit of a letdown. It’s quite small and not ideal for walking. There’s a significant amount of seaweed, and the sand and water don’t match the pristine images shown on the website—those are clearly photoshopped.
Another major downside is the pricing. I have no issues paying for good food and drinks but this is ridiculous. Everything is extremely overpriced. An automatic 18% gratuity is added to all bills, along with a high tax. Breakfast for two on off the menu is $65 at a minimum. The breakfast buffet for 2 is over $130. A light lunch for two with one cocktail each can easily run close to $100. You will spend at least $55 for every round of 2 drinks hanging out by the pool. Dinner for two—without appetizers, dessert, or drinks—will set you back over $120. The quality of food is good but not to justify the cost.
There’s not much to do nearby either. The resort is very isolated, with no nightlife or local attractions within walking distance. If you want to explore more of the island or get to an area with more going on, you’ll need to take a cab—which will cost you about $60 round trip for a 15-minute ride.
There is a dock that offers boat trips to Nevis, which was an okay day trip, though not particularly memorable. Like St. Kitts, the sand there is darker and not the white sand beaches many travelers expect from the Caribbean.
Overall, the Park Hyatt St. Kitts delivers in terms of aesthetics and service, but falls short in value and beach quality. For the price, and considering the isolation and underwhelming beach experience, it’s not a place we’d return to.
