I highly recommend this hotel. It's historic, it has great rooms, great food, they make their own brownies (great story there). It's within walking distance of the Bean and Art Institute. Short cab ride to Navy Pier, although if you're fit you might walk it. Staff friendly and helpful. Great bar area. Don't miss the Peacock door on the first floor as you go in. It's to the side, and not accessible to go through, but you can see them. Would stay there again when in Chicago.

Love the Palmer House, however a little disappointed with the room. First let me start by saying the check in process was great, and the staff had been excellent. I’m a Hilton honors member, but booked through Priceline. Room size is fine; but the age shows in the room. The paint is cracking the furniture is worn. Just surprised because when I think of the Palmer house I think higher end quality, not old and worn. Overall the location is great, but I would definitely not expect a high end room if you’re booking here.

Classic hotel in the Chicago loop. Very well-maintained and updated. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful lobby. Pricey, but not for all you get. Extremely annoying downside is that their WiFi does not allow internet connection for Amazon Firestick or Kindle eBooks. Watching a game on your phone in your room...

Extremely annoying downside is that their WiFi does not allow internet connection for Amazon Firestick or Kindle eBooks. Watching a game on your phone in your room is a 1 star experience. Going to McDonalds to download a book is a less-than-1-star experience. I have not encountered this problem in any other property in at least two years.

Today we we visited the Palmer House and had the pleasure of speaking with Ozel. He was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about the hotel and Hyatt’s offerings. We ended up buying a Hyatt package from him— highly recommend his services!

A lovely old early 1900s hotel. A very impressive lobby area which is great for having cocktails and people watching. Sadly they have diminished the grand atmosphere by adding televisions and playing rather loud music. They do have a nice restaurant in the lobby. The rooms have been recently renovated...

A lovely old early 1900s hotel. A very impressive lobby area which is great for having cocktails and people watching. Sadly they have diminished the grand atmosphere by adding televisions and playing rather loud music. They do have a nice restaurant in the lobby. The rooms have been recently renovated but lack coffee or a microwave in the room. Thankfully they have added back daily housekeeping. It also has a very convenient location and is easy walkable from the train station.
