My vacation commenced just after the New Year peak. The resort was not congested and the environment was quiet and peaceful as the hotel is sited uphill instead of waterfront. The room is spacious although the fit out is a bit old styled. The number of sockets was far from adequate. The complimentary coffee inside room was great. For the buffet breakfast, the variety was very good but the coffee was not up to current standard. 1000 yen was charged for parking. Overall it is a very good hotel.

We spent 6 nights at this property and enjoyed our stay very much. This was our very first visit to Okinawa chose Marriott due to my SPG membership perks.
We arrived at the hotel at night around Yes 9-10pm. The lobby was very big and quiet. As soon as I approached the front desk I was greeted by a friendly gentlemen who took me to the desk beside and began the check in progress. Being a Platinum premium elite member, our room was upgraded to the 15th floor. Since this was our first visit, the gentlemen (whom I forgot his name, sorry) clearly explained my benefits such as lounge access and what they serve during which hours. He then explained the dining options and recreational facilities in this hotel. I was very impressed with his professionalism as this is a huge hotel so some explanation is very helpful during the course of our stay.
Our room was on the top most floor. It was very big and well maintained for its age. As this is a classic resort, you won’t find any high-techy stuff like USB charging ports and chic decorations. Perfect for relaxation and getaway from work!
Our room consist of a large bathroom, sleep area, a work desk, balcony, and a small living area. The windows are floor to ceiling, and the view was amazing. Breakfast was buffet style with international varieties. I liked their local Japanese options the most. Each morning, I must had 2 bowls of rice, porridge, semi raw eggs and their local varieties. Food was high in quality and very tasty. A tip for other travelers. Try to arrive at the restaurant at 6:30am when it opens. There is always a short queue of 10-15min waiting time if you arrive after 7am.
We went to the 2 lounges where they serve snacks, soft drinks and alcohol at certain hours. The hotel has a convenience store and self-laundry room which I think are very nice. Parking is 1000JPY per stay, not per night which is very reasonable.
Overall, a very good classic hotel on the hill that has beautiful view. Staff speaks good English and are very friendly and provide excellent service. Highly recommend. Thank you Okinawa Marriott!

During our stay we were constantly greeted politely by their staff and they always wore a smile on their faces. Location wore its good as there's a beach nearby. The common issue in Japan is the language difficulty but I'd say we didn't encounter a big communication problem. Recommendable!

We had great expectations for our stay at Marriott. We have understood that communicating in English can be a problem in Japan. That was also a probelem here. With the impression that this is an intarnational hotel company, we had expected better English skills. The hotel is a few years. That's obvious. It's getting worn out. Something you feel about the whole hotel experience. It could also be better informed that the hotel is in a bad location. Very little to experience in the area.
The breakfast was chaotic, but perfectly fine. But not five stars. The rooms cleanliness was not good enough. We complained once, but we did not notice any difference. We had couples massage in the spa department. It is recommended. It was amazing. We were in both restaurants several times. The food is decent. Service was terrible. Uninterested waiters. Probably have worked in the same place for too long. It took us a winter season before we got our food. They have a lot to work with. It is catastrophic for the hotel. We only went here because of little choices nearby.
But what's good with this hotel is the guys and girls at the bar. They are full of passion and energy. They give 100% of themselves. They make wonderful coffee and they are hospitable. They also make some wonderful drinks. Specially Takashi was amazing. He is a star that the hotel must continue to invest in. The restaurants has a lot to learn from the team in the bar.
This was the only place at the hotel where we experienced a five star experience.
Over all, you have a lot to work with.

Marriott was one of our stops travelling around in Japan on our honeymoon. We stayed here just over one week. This stop was supposed to be the part were we could relax and enjoy some fun days in the sun. We did not expect this hotel to be as family friendly as it turned out to be. We were the only couple without kids. Had we realized this when booking through Agoda, we would have chosen another hotel. When that is being said, we were very happy with our hotel room at 15th floor with jacuzzi on the balcony. There are though some obvious negatives;
I complained about the cleaning of our room as there was something that looked like coffee stains on the batroom floor and we had not even been drinking coffee in the bathroom, so the stains did not come from us (picture below). This was not fixed during our stay. Clearly they do not clean the floors!! This is quite nasty! The service is very poor at this hotel, specially in the restaurants. There are neither any better alternative restaurants nearby as the hotel’s location is not the best. They desperately have to do something here!
The only thing that is weighing up this hotel experience, beside the room, was the bar. The staff there was at another service level compared to their collegues. It is highly recommended to visit. They are serviceminded, highly skilled and always welcoming.
