My husband and I had such an amazing time here. The staff was all so wonderful and welcoming. They helped us with everything we needed. It was easy to plan and change our tours. The food was delicious and they made us feel very comfortable that we were getting food free from our allergens. We had such a great time and wished we could stay longer. We have nothing negative to say about this resort.

We stayed at Mystic River for 5 nights. We were a party of 3, my husband 87 with Parkinson’s and very limited mobility, myself and a friend both late 70s and fairly fit. We had a suite of 2 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms with a huge sitting room and terrace overlooking the river. It was wonderful to have early morning coffee delivered to the door which we enjoyed while wildlife watching. All the staff were so welcoming and the guides were excellent and took great care to keep Martin safe. We enjoyed the birds feeding on the fruit put out on a bird table a few metres from the dining room. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk on the excellent trails in the forest. The swimming pool was very welcome to cool off. We took a canoe across the river and visited the Botanic gardens. This was an excellent outing with quite a steep climb up from the river. We had lunch in a little eco lodge nestled in the forest. We enjoyed the food and the service was always excellent.

We had a great stay at Mystic River. The property is beautiful, the wait staff is warm, and the tour guides are extremely knowledgeable.
However, Mystic River is quite a bit more expensive than some of the similar resorts in the area, and I am not sure if it is warranted.
When we were trying to decide which excursions to book we felt a bit frustrated by the lack of assistance. We expressed our interest in birds and wildlife and expected more assistance in choosing the best option. The office just told us to look at the guide in our room and to tell them by 6pm rather than trying to help. Even once we decided on something and asked how this option was, we didn’t get much more information.
Additionally, the tour prices online and in the book in our room were different from what we charged. We enjoyed our guides so much so we didn’t feel like disputing the discrepancies.
We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. We looked forward to the specials every night and found there was always something delicious on the menu. The prices of the food and alcohol were definitely higher side and added up quickly during our stay. We spent quite a bit more than we anticipated.
Overall we’d recommend Mystic River and were happy to enjoy the property for our 3 night stay. Of course it’s an eco lodge in the jungle, but we definitely expected more polish with the front desk service and our room could have felt a bit more updated.

There is also a balcony overlooking the river (and not another cabin). They have big gardens and grow much of the food eaten on property. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. You can also take their bird watching tour, kayak, enjoy their pool, get a massage, have a campfire with marshmallows, go on a 3 mile hike, meditate and practice yoga.

The food was very good, we had a little wrinkle in our schedule because of heavy rains, but they helped to work with our travel company to set up a good Plan B option.
We loved the garden with all the fresh vegetables that they serve in the restaurant, and we even got a chance to go up to the farm where they raise animals and create the milk that used for some of the dairy products at the restaurant.

We enjoyed our 4 nite stay here. The staff took great care of us and everyone we ran into was very pleasant. I want to call out Abdias, the friendly gardener who gave us a tour of his vegetable and fruit garden. The restaurant food is good and they have fine service at the bar and restaurant. One area for improvement is the coffee which was weak each day.

Our experience at this resort exceeded expectations. Our room had a patio and small pool that overlooked the river. The bed was very comfortable and while there was not A/C in the room the temperature with the fan on was pleasant. The staff were extremely kind and engaging. We ate all our dinners at the restaurant and everyone remembered our names and made a point to say hello when we entered. The food was delicious and service attentive. I used the yoga studio each afternoon to do my own stretching and it was very peaceful. I would recommend if you are driving her on your own you arrive during the day light. The resort is at the end of a dirt road with potholes and could be a little difficult to navigate in the dark.

My husband and I stayed at Mystic River for a few days in November. We had such an amazing and relaxing time there. Every single person on staff was so kind and wonderful. One of our favorite things we did while we were there was the night hike. Our guide was excellent and we saw so many interesting things and learned so much about Belize and Belize folk lore.
The view from our room was beautiful and the room was so cozy, it did get a little warm but the fans helped keep us cool.
All the food we ate at the restaurant was delicious! And the staff was so attentive and friendly.
We were so sad to leave and we wished we had planned one more day there!

We were blown away from the minute we pulled into mystic river. While the road is bumpy, getting there, it adds to the charm of how isolated you feel at this beautiful resort. We rented one of the cloud nine suites that had the outdoor pool. We were there in November and realized we really couldn’t use the pool because it was a little too chilly, but sitting outside on the patio and dipping our feet in it was really nice and refreshing after a hot day of excursions. I have never ever in my life, met a nicer kinder staff across the entire property. From the people at check-in to anyone working around the grounds to all of the people that work in the restaurants, every person asks how your day was what excursion you had planned, etc. etc. What I really loved was how, despite the fact that we used other guides and not the Mystic River tours, they still asked every day what we had planned and made sure to pack us a little bag with towels and toilet paper whenever we were going out on excursions. This was such an amazing touch! We enjoyed the birding tour in the morning and also a night hike, arranged by the resort. The morning coffee basket was lovely. The dinner menu consists of several things that are standard like hamburgers and chicken strips, with two nightly special offered as well as a vegetarian special. Sometimes on the weekends, they also have a pizza oven. We went into town a few times for dinner, but also ate at the restaurant several times and really enjoyed every single meal. Assorted cream cake, Overall, Mystic River far exceeded all of our expectations. Especially the amazing staff who worked so hard to keep this resort and gorgeous.
I used a third-party site to book our stay at the resort, and I would highly recommend booking directly through them. The prices were similar.

A delightful experience, oh and the pizza I had was yummy a must try :)
The authentic experience is one of a kind, the ambiance, the view wow :) I am still smiling, I must say I felt the LOVE.
The fireplace in the room made me feel like I was in a Hallmark movie.
A must do, the Complimentary Butterfly trail. What an adventure for me since I am not used to seeing so much nature in one day.
I will visit again :)
