My husband and I spent 6 nights in this beautiful hotel. Everything was super clean, and you get a big basket of fruits and all you need for your first breakfast. Actually we got enough for almost our whole stay, we just bought bread towards the end of our stay. You even get 2 beers and a bottle of wine.
One weekend we woke up to a baguette&pastries on our balcony table :) very nice touch.
Parking is available if you have a car. Otherwise, it's possible to park just across the road.
The staff is very nice and helpful, we had a request during our stay and they were very accommodating.
The location is great, the rooms and grounds are beautifully designed and very well maintained.
We would recommend this hotel a 100% . We had an amazing time and if we get the opportunity to go back to the island, we'd definitely book again here.

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were in paradise Alex and Tim were so friendly nothing was a bother for them. We had time to rest after our flights in our beautiful premium villa which was very quiet and private. Our villa was just like home the bed and pillows were Devine the decor was clean fresh with a tropical vibe. Room service was impeccable and all the staff were very friendly. Loved our morning paper delivery and our fresh hibiscus for our foot bath(lovely little touches). The view was beautiful so relaxing and calming the gardens so pretty and well maintained. We swam most days out the front of our villa the weather was warm with a breeze. We walked along the beach most nights to dinner.
Motu offers everything from the ocean to the beautiful pool, daily cleaning, pool side honesty bar. E bikes for exploring great restaurants within walking distance along the beach or road. Buses were always good and fun. Alex and Tim will help with whatever you need. All the local restaurants were amazing. I would go back tomorrow. Love love love Motu 🌸 so clean relaxing and friendly everything you want on your holiday

Motu villas are as lovely as all the reviews describe. We were here for 5 days and really enjoyed our time. The welcome package and shuttle to the supermarket on our first day were invaluable. Highlights for me were snorkelling with giant trevally on a day trip and seeing a giant turtle when snorkelling not far from the villa. Charlie’s is really good for a meal and for a more upmarket meal little Polynesian.

Highly recommend Motu Villas. Small place with only 11 villas, it is very peaceful, and an amazing location right on the beach with amazing snorkelling and sea life straight off the beach. All the staff are super friendly. Thanks to Lucile, Tim & Mii, who were happy for a chat any time. Our villa was very spacious with separate bedroom, and fully equipped kitchen. We had fresh fruit, bread, eggs, milk, butter, jam & honey provided on our arrival. We grabbed some supplies in Avarua CITC supermarket and that was our breakfast/lunch sorted for the week. Hired a car for a few days and also got the bus a few times. Walking distance to Little Polynesian, Moana Sands & Charlies for dinner. Borrowed the e-bikes and biked around the island one day (32km) – well worth it. Lovely pool & self-service bar. Will definitely come back here!

From the moment you walk into Motu you know you are somewhere special. If you are lucky the resident cat "Kiki" will greet you. Motu is an amazing adult only luxury accommodation, only 10 Villas. There are beach view, lagoon view and garden view rooms. We stayed in Villa 10 (lagoon view) it is the last of the row so no villa on one side with a great view of the lagoon. The rooms are well appointed with microwave, fridge and cook top. The fridge was stocked for arrival with the basics, milk, bread, eggs, cheese, crackers. Also a bottle of wine and a couple of bottles of beer. There is also a coffee machine with pods. Also on arrival get a Motu Shopping bag and water bottle which are gifts from the resort. There is a table outside which is great to read the local paper at that gets delivered every morning. Also two sun lounges. There are electric bikes that can be used for free, they work on a first come first serve basis. You can book them for $10 per bike for a day. There is no restaurant on site but this does not diminish how amazing this place is. There is a great restaurant Little Polynesia just down the road, 10 minute walk along the beach. The offered to book this for us for us before we arrived. So took the hassle out of the first evening. There is also an honesty bar accessible 24 hours as you get a key to it. There is also a washing machine and dryer which was very handy. The lagoon is very safe for swimming in. The staff are super helpful. We enjoyed so much that we have already booked for 2025!

To say my expectations were exceeded would be a vast understatement, from the moment we first made contact at the airport to our almost tearful goodbye.
But the best thing about our trip was each and every staff member who went over and beyond. You guys made our trip even more memorable. Thank you so much.

Lovely garden with pool and also right on a beautiful quiet white sand beach with palm trees and crystal blue lagoon water. Picture perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff and management (Tim and Lucile). Honesty bar by the pool. No meals but good restaurants only a short drive along the road, especially the Little Polynesian (we had dinner there 3 times). Not cheap but worth it though a bit strange you only get a fixed amount of Wi-Fi data allowance then have to pay for more. Would definitely return.

If you judge our past review history- “relaxing” in a tropical paradise doesn’t feature- but we did it… and Motu was the place to do it The staff are very focused on ensuring we get the very best out of CI. Tim Lucille and Mii were founts of travel and island wisdom. The resort is “on” the beach ins a safe lagoon area- great for snorkeling. Walk across the island with Bruce- and experience the highland cultural show. The units were comfortable albeit a bit crowded with furniture. And the safe was in a weird place too. But were we to go back to CI I would go here. Particularly because they DONT have a restaurant - we didn’t have to ‘share’ the resort with the “blow in tourists”. Lastly the e bikes were amazing quality and covered all the places we needed. Thank you

We looked hard at accommodation on Rarotonga and Aitutaki and was very pleased with our selections. The Motu is extremely clean, well located and very well managed. The beach area is excellent and lots of tropical fish not far from the beach. Good selection of kayaks and the electric bikes were a brilliant addition. We ate at the little Polynesian and had beers at Charlie’s. Rarotonga and the people of the Cook Islands is very special. All gardens with cut grass and no litter anywhere. A very chilled and strong community. The roaming dogs around the island are a downside if you are frightened of them. Totally recommend.

Thankyou team MOTU. You made our short escape to Raro truly memorable. From the minute we checked in we felt welcomed and well looked after. We felt blessed to share this small paradise with you and look forward to returning. All the best from Dion and Colette.

This is the nicest place my wife and I ever stayed at. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The lagoon was one the best snorkeling spot around the island (hundreds of fish, giant clam, turtle...), the villa was stunning, the common grounds absolutely beautiful. Add to that the fact that the staff was simply perfect, everyone was nice, friendly and caring. We had the chance to meet Mii who made us feel really cared for and treated us in such special ways that we felt like family.
This is quite possibly the best holiday we've ever been to, it was that good that on the last day, we were already looking into booking our return trip next year.
Could not recommend enough and would highly encourage everyone to go there for a very special time away!

The experience of staying at Motu beachfront is one I would recommend to any couples that are wanting private adults only accommodation that comes with stunning full service and amazing managers and workers that make you feel well cared for. My husband and I stayed here the week of our wedding in Raro and would choose to stay only here on any future trips! The villas are beautiful and so close to the water it felt like our own little paradise. From the layout of the villas to the decor and design of the main foyer and swimming pool it was perfect. The overall property felt luxurious and what’s not to like about an honesty bar that is open to guests even on Sundays!! The staff were so accommodating it was unexpected as we didn’t realise the extent of the full service we’d receive from a boutique resort of villas. Our stay was amazing and everything was so picture perfect for our likings. Would 100% recommend!

If you're after absolute beach front in an idyllic tropical setting, then MOTU fits the bill perfectly. We stayed for a week, swapping between two villas, both of which were comfortable and clean. Having only 10 villas on the property contributed to a tranquil experience, as did the helpful, but never intrusive advice and help from Lucille, Tim and Mii.
We got around largely by bus and the village's e-bikes, but worth considering hiring a car if you have a longer stay, with only a couple of places for dinner within walking distance.

An idyllic spot on the idyllic island of Rarotonga. We loved the warm friendliness of the staff and the immaculately kept villas and grounds. Our beach front villa was perfect for snorkelling, whale watching and quiet relaxation under the palm trees. We made good use of the kayaks, paddle boards and bikes that were available. We also hired a car which enabled us to explore the top class restaurants and places to visit all over the island. We were very lucky - we saw whales every day (mid August) from the shore on all different places around the island. We highly recommend Motu Villas and hope to visit again next year.
