Hands down, this lodge offers the best beach and lagoon access on the island—no other property even comes close. Located facing due west, it boasts the most stunning sunsets on Moorea. The atmosphere here is peaceful and serene, providing a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Papeete. The staff are fantastic, available from 7 AM to 3 PM, and the small bungalow rooms are impeccably clean. Each room comes with cold A/C, a small fridge, and wonderful hot showers, ensuring a comfortable stay. While breakfast isn’t included, it costs about $50 for two. We found that the best snorkeling happens early in the morning, so we opted to skip breakfast and bought our own eggs and bread. The lodge kindly allows you to cook in their kitchen, and they even provide space in the refrigerator for your items. It’s a small touch, but it made a big difference!

Everything about Moorea Beach Lodge was just as the description and photos advertised. The location is ideal. Shopping, restaurants, and beaches are all close by. However, the best part of our experience was meeting the people who work there. The staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome!

Lovely place to stay for a couple or family seeking calm in Moorea. Peaceful locatioin far from the busy area, but near a clear and amazing snorkeling spot. They serve a lovely breakfast with fruit, breads, eggs overlooking the incredible lagoon. The bungalows are dotted around a tropical garden with an old banyan tree and are quiet and peaceful but well appointed. We had the family bungalow, large enough to cook in, but if not you can use the common kitchen. There is a stair to the room but inside, this bungalow was totally wheelchair accessible with a flat shower and lots of turning radius. The furniture, decor etc is Polynesian and I personallly loved it, found it very tasteful. Welcoming and helpful staff and manager. We missed breakfast once as we were talking to our son and they opened the kitchen to provide us coffee and breads. Definetely coming back.

The manager was delightful and completely helpful, as were all staff. The accommodations are very private despite being 10 units in a relatively small area. Mo’orea is much calmer and more accessible to water than Tahiti. But as our guide said “Tgere is no party on Mo’orea, so if you need that, maybe Tahiti or Bora-Bora.

Excellent bungalows! Common kitchen available, where you can prepare your own food, if you wish. Continental breakfast included with lots of fruits, juices, croissant and pain au chocolat. Comfortable and in front of the beach. Personal was very friendly and efficient. We rented a scoter, a car and booked a restaurant with Polynesian show. We stayed 4 days and enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Virgilia and staff for making our trip memorable.

Exceptional Hotel! We had an ocean front room where the beach/water was approximately six-seven feet from our deck. Perfect room with great AC. Grounds were just like the pictures. INCREDIBLE value for the price. Would come back in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed at the Moorea Beach Lodge for three nights on our 10-day trip to Moorea and Bora Bora. We needed to stretch points, so chose this option that offered low key beach front views without the resort cost. We’ve stayed at Manava and Sofitel and knew this experience would be lower key. Pros: quiet property, bungalow 1 is perfect setup for privacy and beachfront, peaceful, beautiful view, restaurants and supermarket within walking distance, bikes, kayaks and scooters and cars for rent from the property, community kitchen available for use except during breakfast, and friendly staff. The coral garden /coco beach is a 20 min kayak away offering amazing snorkeling. Keep in mind: no coffee in room, limited toiletry amenities (two small bars of soap and travel size shampoo), bungalow 1 is very cute yet tight quarters, the bay is shallow- you really have to take a kayak to get to good snorkeling. Overall, I enjoyed the stay but don’t think I could do more than three nights. The bungalow is tiny compared to what I’m use to in French Polynesia and I missed being able to make my own coffee to enjoy on the deck :-) rather than having to get it at the lodge breakfast service. I do recommend this property, especially if on a budget. Just come with the right expectations.

Claude and staff are accommodating and lovely. Truly a beautiful small hotel.

Location is fantastic, rooms are fantastic, staff are fantastic and the views are amazing! We loved that we could use the kitchen for ourselves for food and drinks, and the free bikes and kayaks were brilliant for getting about and seeing then beautiful coral! My only problem was the noise...

Location is fantastic, rooms are fantastic, staff are fantastic and the views are amazing! We loved that we could use the kitchen for ourselves for food and drinks, and the free bikes and kayaks were brilliant for getting about and seeing then beautiful coral! My only problem was the noise from the Hens or Cockerels which started from about 4:30am and went on for a couple of hours every morning, I didn’t get a good night sleep the duration of my stay unfortunately, I understand this isn’t necessarily the problem of Moorea Beach Lodge, but for anyone who is looking for a quiet nights sleep, it might be a problem, my wife and I really struggled with the noise. This aside we can’t fault your beautiful accommodation!

Our stay at the MBL was Magical and Memorable! As soon as you walk through the lodge lobby your greeted with a sweeping view which could be on the cover of the Conde Nast Luxury travel magazine –SIMPLY SPECTACULAR!! The property has sweeping and amazing beach front views! Just completed touring several islands around Tahiti and thought MBL location topped it all -stunning, tranquil and dreamy! A well thought out gated lodge grounds sprinkled with small cottages centered around the Fare lounge. Claude, the general manager and his wife were very friendly and helpful! He showed us around the property and shared offering Free kayaks, snorkel gear and bikes available. Also scooters for rent. My friend and I booked the Honeymoon cottage (#1) since located right on the white sanded beach. The cottage was pristine, nicely designed, cozy and on the small side compared to what Americans are used which is minor compared to the lovely ambience of the cottage and stay. Safe, refrigerator, air conditioning &ceiling fan. WiFi best in common area. Restaurants and grocery store just down the road, from 5-10 minutes walking. Offers a professional kitchen with individual refrigerator lockers and access to the kitchen. A lovely breakfast offered with fresh baked goods-approx $18 ea. MBL will set-up taxi service to and from the ferry -approx $40 one way with a 30-40 min fabulous break taking ride to the property. They will arrange for private pick-up with sign at the ferry landing. Moorea has only 38 taxis on the island. Staying at the Moorea Beach Lodge was truly a memorable experience and highly recommend!!

Great location, the beach is as advertised. We booked the honeymoon bungalow, which was a little closer to everything than I expected so privacy and quiet is not a guarantee. The commons area is great, if you have a larger group, this really extends your area. If you are not in that group it can feel like you are intruding on a gathering. Perhaps it depends if you are there over the weekend when locals might come and rent a number of units? The car they have for rental is great and a bargain at a $100 for 8 hours, we really enjoyed our day rolling around in it. This hotel is near a ton of restaurants, shopping and night life. Saturday and Sunday we listened to local bands playing. The units ( or our unit was small) expect close quarters. But really, you fly here to be outside staring at a gorgeous sunset or exploring the island. We did not try the breakfast. Enjoy the local sting ray doing morning laps in front of you or the black tipped sharks circling at night.

We stayed in the family villa with two ensuite bedrooms interspersed with a huge living room area (no TV). The decor was stylish and included use of a kitchen in the unit. (Guests staying at other units can use the communal kitchen in the large lunge area overlooking the beach). Everything was very clean. The free WIFI was iffy, especially in the morning. You have to pay about $25 extra for breakfast which includes eggs (with cheese but no other add ons); Danish; bread; juice; a hot drink; and fruit salad. Housekeeping is daily and offers a same day wash and dry service for $15. However, that unit was very close to the busy main road and so had traffic noise starting early in the morning. As others have noted, there is a beach with free kayak use and a gorgeous sunset backdrop and free bikes to use. The location is steps to two of the best restaurants on Moorea—Coco Délices and the Iguana Jaune—but these are closed Monday and Tuesday. Don’t even think about walking along the road near this place at night without your phone or a flashlight as there is no street lightning. The receptions are spread across properties so it is best to arrange your arrival time if possible. They are reachable via What’s App during your stay. I didn’t think the price quality ratio was there for the Villa, but judging by the popularity guests seem to think it’s fine for the smaller units. Really, they should have shampoo as even the most basic Pension in French Polynesia does. Next time in Moorea I’ll try elsewhere.
