Location is great, just a few minutes walk into town. There is street lighting, but generally the streets were deserted in the evening. Reception is at the back of the hotel, which was odd. It is a very old fashioned building, with rooms and corridors and light switches where you wouldn’t expect them. Not at all as we imagined from the reviews and photos, and not the type of place we would normally stay. Reminded us of the type of guesthouse you might find in Bexhill on Sea. Our room didn’t have a sea view, and was very bright and spacious and clean. It was on the second floor, but bizarrely had a ramp into it. Breakfast was pleasant, simple and tasty, looking out over the coast. Leanne was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and bookings. We left a day early to go and play golf at Arabella.

We loved this hotel as a base while in the Hermanus area. Our room was super with views out over the ocean. You could hear the waves crashing onto the rocks in the night. Large room, air con worked well with all room amenities. Very clean. Staff helpful. Small pool...

We were only here for one night but this is a fantastic find and we hope to be back. The room, which awash in the annex was huge. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of chairs. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Would particularly like to mention Lee-Ann who arranged transport back to Cape Town. We met the owners who were rightfully proud of their hotel. The pool area was gorgeous.

I don't know what some people expect for the cost here - but definitely go for the sea facing suites as they are not that much more than a deluxe room! & remember / you get what you pay for!! Recommend Ficks beach bar & restaurant 2 mins walk. Noisy neighbours! during the night but not hotels fault! Staved in Februarv 2025

I will make special mention here of the hotel assistant (Concierge) Lee-Ann Abrahams who assisted us with all our queries and did a splendid job where she informed us regarding the hotels history and self catering units for future bookings - see that we are a big family. Also, the location of the hotel and all amenities and attractions are well situated in walking distance.

Lovely hotel with fantastic friendly staff. We had a top floor room overlooking the sea. Huge room. Huge comfortable bed. Hertiage restraunt for breakfast and a couple of meals was great - great food and great value. Easy short safe walk into town - lots of places to eat.

Our second visit to Misty Waves and it did not disappoint. Our room was in the building over the courtyard and had a lovely ocean view. Spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was very generous and beautifully presented and we sat out at the front overlooking the ocean.

This was our fifth visit to Misty Waves and it was as good as ever. We stayed for 4 night - seem to stay an extra night each time !! Our suite was excellent - we have stayed in it before. The breakfast was lovely and the staff are first class. Jeanrin, duty manager, couldn't do enough for us and the bottle of wine was most welcome. In addition Junade was most helpful when booking. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful place and the facilities, welcome and service second to none! Everything was exceptional with so many little extras and special unique touches! Not enough space here to mention them all... so you ll have to go and try it for yourself..You will not be disappointed we guarantee..!!!...

Beautiful room with spectacular views and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean and very quiet. Great air conditioning and easy walk to town centre. Would recommend the hotel and has parking. Design inside is very quirky

Hotel is wonderfully located, with great views from the main building.Rooms are spacious and comfortable.Staff are really wonderful. Lovely facilities on site and close to great restuarants. Additionally parking is safe and secure. Breakfast is a true treat.

We had an amazing time with a fantastic room and seriously unbelievable service. Great location for town and sea views too. If you’re after a hotel in Hermanus look no further than the Misty Waves - just superb !! We will be back for sure ❤️❤️❤️

This is a hotel we would come back to readily. It is set overlooking the sea and has the most charming garden with pool. The hotel itself is very well furnished and decorated with art and beautiful furniture but is also refurbished to a very high standard. The staff are lovely- helpful and friendly. Our room was a honeymoon suite type of room with a beautiful en suite and sitting area to look out to sea.

This was our second visit to Misty Waves Boutique Hotel in Hermanus and it was even better than the first! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful...!! We absolutely love the hospitable touches everywhere you go in the hotel - the room is gorgeous and we adore the breakfasts...!!!

We had a fantastic room overlooking the ocean which was extremely spacious. The hotel is situated a 10-15 minute walk from the restaurants of Hermanus. The pool is small but adequate and the breakfast was served in the restaurant next door which was very nice.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever been to. The attention to detail is outstanding. The rooms are beautiful. Clean, comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. This was our second visit and we will return in October. The staff are amazing, so friendly and happy. Our first visit was almost 2 years ago and I made a lovely friend in the amazing lady called Leanne. I left crying but when we returned in March this year our reunion had more tears! Leanne is kind, attentive and the hotel would be lost without her. Even their driver Robert recognised us when he picked us up from the airport. All the staff are fun, friendly and go the extra mile to ensure a great stay. Can’t wait to go back and see them all.

Fabulous hotel, the room we had was huge with its own separate area for having tea/coffee and lovely balcony patio. Swimming pool was gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, the staff can’t do enough for you. Safe with easy walking to restaurant and shops. Highly recommended.

Unique hotel with lots of character. Lovely big, clean rooms and really good breakfast. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Sea view from our room was amazing. Short Walk into town. Great base for shark diving or whale watching. Nice local restaurants.
