We stayed here for 2 nights - reserving a standard queen sized room. Our room was high up on the 3rd floor with a balcony that offered a view of the water. The balcony had one extremely weathered stool that looked like you would get splinters if you to used it to sit on. The sliding door for the balcony did not latch shut so someone could easily enter from the balcony of the adjoining room. The room itself was pretty basic with a very firm bed and pillows, a small flat screen TV that showed mostly programming in Spanish but did have CNN in English. The shower head was clogged with sarro (mineral deposits) and the water was tepid at best. There were nice containers of a locally made honey shampoo and nice soaps. The hotel does have a nice and large tiled pool but we didn't use it and a restuarant that is open for breakfast but we ate elsewhere.

We visited the hotel for 4 days/3 nights mid December. We got off the ADO bus and a restaurant fella greeted us and even took us by foot, carrying our luggage to the hotel, one block away. He invited us to his beachfront restaurant, El Faro, which was perfect for us each day. The hotel price was so reasonable, big rooms, clean, quiet, and modern. The bathroom was so adorable with handpainted walls and typical tropical tile accessories. Hot water was great, AC great, tv great, and beds great. We really liked the front desk service by Manuel Flores. So helpful and eager to please. The breakfasts were delicious and a perfect location. We will definitely go back to that city and hotel.

We only stayed two nights here but wish we had stayed more! The staff were all lovely; the room was large, simple and comfortable; the bathroom was also large; everything worked very well including super strong wifi (individual to the room). The staff gave us great tips for places to eat and organised a snorkel trip where we saw lots of coral, fish and turtles. Overall a wonderful few days in Mahahual. My only gripe is that the pools could be cleaner - but with the Caribbean just there, it’s not really necessary.

Beautiful, sweet place- a 5 minute walk to the beach and a lot quieter and cheaper than staying right on the beach. Beautiful murals, comfortable rooms, great swimming pool and cool lighting and architecture. I loved this place, one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff was attentive and freindly. Great place all around!

the hotel is beautiful, rooms clean, good wifi and tvs had netflix!! i only wish they had beach access because public access is either far walk or not well kept unless you pay to use another properties beach access or buy food at a restaurants beach access.

Each room was themed, using a local animal to give unique character. Our room, on the 4rth floor, was the frigatte- the frigate bird. The headboard said it and pictures of this pteranodon-like bird decorated the room. We even had frigate soap holders. One window looked out over the jungle....

Each room was themed, using a local animal to give unique character. Our room, on the 4rth floor, was the frigatte- the frigate bird. The headboard said it and pictures of this pteranodon-like bird decorated the room. We even had frigate soap holders. One window looked out over the jungle. The other window, hotel-esc, saw the exterior hallway. My favorite thing in the room was the huge, doorless shower. The rooms surround a courtyard with a pool, garden, stream and cool rock work. Charm. Kindness. Location. Our free breakfast (continental) was so so. Good toast, overly sweet jam, plain yogurt with a sprinkle of granola, sweet bread, and diced fruit. Walking through the archway into the courtyard made me smile every time. Well worth a stay.

We stayed March 22 - 31 in the Orquidae room & had not one complaint from service to unique and interesting decor to cleanliness to helpful staff - all excellent! Manager Gerben could be seen helping out in the kitchen, at the front desk, with the renos, or visiting with guests. He and his staff have won our loyalty for future visits to Mahahual and for the Koox chain in other locations. Wonderful experience all around 😊

This is a nice hotel, basic and clean. The view is beautiful, food is goos, we had a Pizza one night and it was delightful, prices were good. The only thing we weren’t happyWe had the do not disturbe sing About Mahahual, we didn’t know that 3 cruises arrive every day at different hours. And some of the restaurants on the beach charge different if you come from a cruise or if you are not. It’s a small place and taxis will be eager to take you wherever. There is few ATM (like 3) and most of the restaurants take cards, but it’s always a better option to have some cash. :)
