What a beautiful hotel this is with the most friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed in a sea fan room in block 6 which was large, very clean with an amazing comfortable bed and fabulous bathroom. The coconut pool was just outside our room and we managed to see some unforgettable sunsets from our balcony. The room was well stocked with drinking water daily and the bathrobe,flip flops and beach bag was a lovely touch. Would we return here oh hell yes in a heartbeat, see you next year!

We have just returned from an incredible 2 week stay and we will certainly be back! We have travelled to many countries and hotels and this has got to be one of our best holidays. Hotel, food and staff were amazing. The spacious room and bed was just what we needed to relax and unwind. The restaurants were incredible and we loved Charm Thai restaurant and food thanks Milk, Oil and Maew and other great staff. We found the Cocunut pool our favourite and Amwar was a great friendly fun barman who created wonderful drinks. Thanks Golf too. It would be nice if the Coconut pool becomes adults only - there were not many children at the hotel, wasn’t a great issue but they are allowed in all pools apart from one. We had a wonderful service from all front of house staff. Reception staff Peary, Lemon and May were great and we had a good laugh THANK YOU. The main restaurant was great and Pop was lovely and always got me some ginger tea. Ann, Mark, Lek, Sam, Meng, Neng and other staff we so helpful, great speedy service with incredible food looked and tasted exquisite with a great choice. The food is Al a Carte too which is great for an all inclusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Visit Recommendations Elephant Jungle Sanctuary a must and book through hotel reception. Help the elephants as they are well looked after do the half day visit to feed, bathe and give an elephant a mud Bath. Simon Caberet book via reception - good for a glitzy evening! Phi Phi Islands and get a long boat ride when on a trip. Bangla Road is a must. Get a tuk tuk as it’s great fun. THANK YOU MANDAVARA STAFF - Your’e SIMPLY THE BEST! The Mandarava Hotel is set in a beautiful garden, on a hill. Hotel guests predominantly belong to those who appreciate peace and quiet. Room to a high standard, clean, food tasty, something for everyone. Morning yoga classes could definitely take place more often. I highly recommend the spa, a massage and facial treatment (natural oils and cosmetics) perfectly carried out by Ms Milky (treatment technique, subtlety). A wonderful experience, well worth it. I really recommend a few days stay here!

Very good. Professional spa centre with great stuff. Ambient, calm music, nature sounds, very good relaxing place, very good massage. Was there with my wife and we took couple massage. We really enjoyed the time spent there together. Will recommend.

At short notice I emailed the hotel to upgrade to a swim up room for our 3 night stay was quickly responded to and agreed. On arrival we found out just how steep the resort is and you really need to use the complementary buggy’s to get you around, especially going up the hill. Our room was nice with a good en-suite, it wasn’t laid out and feel as big as the pictures had given us to expect but it was nice all the same. Every pool has a bar which is well staffed for food during the day and the maid always kept the room clean and tidy with her daily visits. We only had breakfast and lunch once during our stay but the food was nice. The staff were very good and always on hand at short notice if needed. It’s a bit of a walk into Karon for the restaurants and bars but once there you’re spoiled for choice along with shops. The hotel is on hand to arrange taxis and run a free bus on the hour until 6pm which is worth taking advantage of.

First time full body massage, excellent massage from Air. My husband had a back neck and sholders by Sally. Perfect pressure for both, Just Perfect. Highly recommend to anyone attending this resort. Thank you so much. Gail Thomson & John Thomson

Had an amazing sports massage by a masseuse called Apple. I felt the knots in my back going instantly. I felt completely relaxed and refreshed! Wonderful ambience and a 10/10 massage! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you for Apple! :)

We stayed at Mandarava for 8 nights at the beginning of February and our stay was truly wonderful. What a fantastic hotel to spend a week at after 4 busy days in Singapore. We were welcomed with open arms and big smiles. The staff throughout the hotel from reception, to house keeping, restaurant and the spa were amazing and what a great customer experience they strive for. We stayed in a pool access room, the room was bigger than we expected and all the room amenities were to a great standard, it was extremely clean and our pool access made our trip just that little bit more special. The hotel itself offers quite a range of food choices at the restaurants and pool bars and during our stay I think there were 3 nights that they had some form of event or entertainment on in the evenings which was nice if you had a busy day and didn't want to leave the resort. A special mention to the morning breakfast, it was superb, one of the best hotel breakfasts iv had. The selection was huge, you could have anything you could think of, it was always fresh and the staff were always restocking so no matter what time you came there was always enough. We also enjoyed treatments at the spa, which were excellent, a great spa, lots of treatment choices and also special offers, again the ladies who did our treatments were so professional and friendly and just really couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is in easy reach of the Karon bay town and beach and the hotel puts in a shuttle bus as the area is quite hilly. Just at the bottom of the road where the hotel is, is also a selection of 4 restaurants and a convenience store if you didn't want to go into the town area. We had the absolute best stay and we really hope in the future we will be able to come back! Thank you all at Mandarava!

Our room is spacious, and areas of gardens are tropical and lush. Last night we had a fantastic thunder and lightening display, torrential rain storm. Have seen some beautiful birds. (feathered variety). Restaurants provide a good choice of food. The welcome fruit bowl was lovely, and much appreciated.

The mandarava is an amazing hillside oasis . The room was lovely and spacious with a great view from our balcony . The food is the best we have ever had in any hotel . We spent most of our days relaxing at the papaya pool , our time at the pool was made so much more enjoyable because of our lovely barstaff at the pool bar , Ake and Golf are so friendly funny and welcoming . We must also say a big thank you to all the staff at the main restaurant especially Su , Mark , Lec and Pen who are all amazing, friendly, funny and welcoming. All people mentioned we consider as friends rather than hotel staff . Thank you all for an amazing time .

This was myself and my husband’s first time to visit Thailand and we would definitely recommend the mandarava hotel it was amazing. The staff are so friendly and will go to great lengths to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely be back in the future.

We were unfortunate enough to spend 4 nights here. If there wasn’t steps to climb there were hills, room was very noisy with the sound of crickets, bed was very hard and uncomfortable, staff not accommodating at all and after requesting if we could get an upgrade to avoid the...

We were unfortunate enough to spend 4 nights here. If there wasn’t steps to climb there were hills, room was very noisy with the sound of crickets, bed was very hard and uncomfortable, staff not accommodating at all and after requesting if we could get an upgrade to avoid the noise we were shown another room to which we had 30 steps to climb to get to - not suitable especially when you had injured your leg by accident the previous week or at the age of 67. We would have gladly paid for an upgrade if it had met our needs but it wasn’t offered. The entire experience spoilt our 4 week holiday and to add insult the day after we moved to Abu Dhabi we both fell ill. I have given my views to our travel agent most definitely not recommending staying here that is unless you are an athelete

Absolutely brilliant, and we would like to thank Air and Sally, our masseuses, who are fantastic - thank you very much.

If you do choose to stay here I don’t think you will be disappointed. The hotel is beautifully kept by the ground staff and is a quiet oasis amongst the general busyness of Thailand. There is a wide selection of pools and the eating experience is really good. The ‘Thai’ restaurant serves beautifully crafted, upmarket Thai food whilst the International restaurant serves high quality food with different themed nights. This is also where the breakfast is served, which we found more than adequate. The views from the restaurants are outstanding. As is mentioned in other reviews, the resort is very hilly which at times can be hard work but the staff are always on hand to take you round the resort in vans. This was never a big negative for us. The hotel also offers a free shuttle throughout the day to Karon Beach. The staff at the hotel are always super friendly and helpful and they couldn’t do enough for you. They are the real stars of the hotel. We used the Cheeva spa on 1 day of our 2 week stay. My wife very much enjoyed her massage but the facilities themselves are quite small as there is only a bubble pool and 2 steam rooms to use alongside that (one of those was out of action). In terms of the local area. Get the Bolt app! To travel round the island it’s a fantastic, and not too expensive way of getting round. It’s a very efficient service that never let us down. Karon Beach, we found, to be great but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Karon also has some nice bars which we really loved including ‘The Bar with No Name’. Kata beach is a bit more picturesque and also nice to go to. Nai Han beach is also very nice but difficult to get a sun bed. A visit to Patong is also a must! We also managed to do a few excursions whilst we were there including an elephant experience at Bukit elephant park, a speedboat tour of Phi Phi islands and a speedboat tour of Krabi and its islands. All were excellent trips and ones we won’t forget! All in all a very memorable holiday and Mandarava played a big part in that!

Apple is a phenomenal masseuse and would highly recommend the Jet Lag for any weary travelers. I told her how I had more neck/back pain than normal and she focused on that area perfectly! I plan on getting another massage before my trip is over!

incredibly relaxing body scrub and massage by Milky! one of the best massage experiences i’ve had. i enjoyed everything from the scent of the scrub used, the ambience of the room, and the Milky’s amazing massage. highly recommend this experience! :)

We got the combinations scrub and massage. It was one of the best massages we have ever had. Very relaxing and comfortable with just the right amount of pressure. Our masseuses Milky and Tik were also very kind, considerate, and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

All the staff are fantastic and the service is perfect The only negative unfortunately is karon, it’s absolutely awful, we have travelled Thailand many times and would never return to karon or patong, if you want to see Thailand this is not the place for you, it’s full of Russians and the beach is over crowded, the town itself is horrid

Myself and my husband stayed here for 3 nights , the hotel is amazing but very hilly, the 5 pools are great and the food here is amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Karon it's self was not for us was to many Russian people and they are very rude we did go into bangla rd and it was great atmosphere also went to the big shopping centre across the rd . As it was paddy's day we went to the dubliner bar on bangla rd a fantastic time in there. I will say the girl / ladyboys looked very uncomfortable dancing on the bars 🍸 like they didn't want to be there. At the hotel they have pick up vans who will take u too n from reception and rooms .

The grounds are kept to a high standard, with all staff being polite and helpful. We used the adults only pool mainly, which was quite throughout. Downside is Karon has become very commercialised since last being here 7 years ago. Special thanks to Fang, Porch and Lemon for helping us at the hotel too.

I asked for a strong pressure with my Balinese Massage and Apple was exceptional. Would highly recommend. Beautiful experience from start to finish, welcome towel and drink, followed by a pre massage foot wash and scrub and a post massage tea on the balcony. 5*

Everything in the room that we used worked well. The maid cleaned our room everyday and did not knock or bother us early once, we were always out when they came. The staff even checked our room as we checked out and found items that we had left behind and brought them to us prior to our departure - 5* service from them we would definetly return.

Spent there 7amazing days. The staff is very helpful and pollite, they leave you a good feeling of joy and happiness. The nature combines with the small village and makes a wonderful experience Lots of pools very good food 100% a place where you want to come back

Lovely Hotel, nice and fresh feel to the room massive bathroom. Some people may find the hilly location a bit hard to walk round but the hotel provides buggys to get you around. Nice breakfast. We loved it here. Would I return? Definitely without hesitation!!
