We LOVED our time at this resort!! The staff is wonderful and really goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. David checked us in and each time we saw him he checked with us to see if we needed anything. We stayed in the two story townhouse overlooking the pacific ocean and the views were breathtaking. We saw monkeys jumping through the trees on a few occasions and watched a beautiful sunset from our room one evening. We didn't realize that the townhouse also came with two butlers. We had Christian and Andrey Jimenez and they set up a whatsapp chat for us and helped us to make dinner reservations and set up transportation for us. They were wonderful! Breakfast is included which was nice and they even offered a boxed breakfast to go on the morning we had an excursion. This was a very nice touch.
The resort offers golf cart service around the property and a vehicle to drive you down to the beach. The beach would be very difficult to walk down to on your own but we never waited for transportation. We called and almost immediately, someone was there to take us where we wanted to go. We had the beach to ourselves and it was so relaxing and wonderful after days of excursions and running around. The pool was great also and every single day we were there the squirrel monkeys came to visit and they were so fun to watch! I highly recommend this resort and if we ever get back to Manuel Antonio, we won't hesitate to stay here.

We were here for 3 nights had a wonderful room with 3 bedrooms, sofas, full service kitchen and a welcome bottle of sparkling for our anniversary. Coffee maker, soft drinks and beer in the fridge complimentary also felt a nice touch (I appreciate it is not an inexpensive property). Stayed as a Hilton diamond and whilst there is a welcome letter the team are a little unclear on some of the benefits eg late checkout, although this was done and the team worked really hard despite full occupancy for us to keep our room without charge. Every single staff member was helpful, checking if they could help, or you needed anything even a lift to the beach. Breakfast was a la carte although you were served a selection of fruit and pastries at your table and your chosen dish was then served, it was excellent. The view of the ocean from there was also lovely. The pool area had towels available, great value 10 dollar cocktails (bogof) were robust and tasty especially mango daiquiri. Again staff excellent. The food at the pool and at dinner also very good but there is a selection of restaurants and a mini market 5 mins walk up the hill, lots of choice and not too pricey. The beach is lovely to watch sunset though I heard a number of ungrateful guests say it was a bit volcanic and the sand was grey (it’s Costa Rica!). There is wildlife to see on the property too. This is an amazing property with good facilities and service. Would love to return but may need to save a little bit harder.

I recently stayed at Los Altos Resort and it was amazing. I had a 'townhouse' unit and the 2 story room was beautiful with amazing views of the water. The staff was also excellent with special mention for Andrey who provided 5 star+ customer service and to be quite honest, is the reason I'm giving a 5 star review instead of 4 (see below).
My only complaint was that there was a wedding at the time of my stay, which I was not aware of until we arrived. This would have been nice to know at booking as the wedding had reserved most of the resort so access to the spa and the restaurant were limited during my stay. Despite that, Andrey and the staff were very accommodating and made the stay fantastic.
Of course the Quepos area and Manuel Antonio are beautiful!

This hotel is more than just a hotel. It’s an experience. We were visiting for our honeymoon and they went above and beyond for us from the moment we stepped on to the property. They suggested multiple restaurants, not just the on site restaurant. So that gave us an opportunity to explore. They cleaned our room, brought us breakfast in our room one morning, and were available to set up reservations and excursions for us. Anything we asked for, they obliged. If something wasn’t right, they made it right and fast. (Only because our toilet got messed up at one point.) Beautiful view from our townhouse, access to a private beach… I mean, you name it, they offer it. I cannot say more amazing things about this place. You will not be sorry staying here! Andres and Christian were amazing butlers from beginning to end. I cannot wait to come back to Costa Rica and spend more time here.

Los Altos is billed as a 'luxury resort' but it falls short of the basics.
Me & my wife stayed at Los Altos for 3 nights at the end of March as part of our wider honeymoon to Costa Rica, Los Altos was supposed to be the pinnacle of our stay, booking a townhouse with private pool. The room itself was fantastic, and we were allocated a personal butler/concierge to contact via Whatsapp, who did give us a great greeting - the experience unfortunately didn't live up to the billing past this point.
The concierge service feels personal in principle, however I read a review on a previous page where another user had sent a message to their concierge to book a return taxi home from the beach, and didn't hear back for over 2 hours - this is a perfect summary. We didn't experience anything quite as extreme, but we did wait 45 minutes on our night of arrival trying to see if we could get room service. Safe to say by the time we had a reply we were sat in the restaurant.
Housekeeping was also inconsistent, they didn't come for turn down service on our on the evening of our first full day, and we had to request them to come on the second day in the morning, as well as then for turn down in the evening. Staff shortages were mentioned here upon leaving, but we certainly saw a lot of staff in the area at multiple points. We also had an issue with our air conditioning unit which was leaking throughout, and still, when we left.
Our poorest experience though was in the hotel restaurant, we had small issues in 2 of our 4 visits (3 breakfast, 1 dinner) but a much larger issue on a third visit, where our breakfasts firstly took a considerable time, but then secondly got delivered to the wrong table. They were left on that table for over 10 minutes before the staff came to collect it having had it raised by the couple near us that it was wrong for them. The staff member then tried to give the same cold breakfast to my wife, and seemed confused when she mentioned she had seen him just a lift the meal from their table to ours.
I will say all the staff seemed well mannered and kind, but if anything what this leads me to believe is that the hotel management simply haven't trained them in how to offer an overall better, quality service, or they are simply understaffed significantly that across the board they struggle to offer the service intended. We received apologies having raised these exact issues before leaving, but nothing more to try and better set things right. Overall, whilst its important to stress given my 2 star rating the hotel itself is not a bad place, simply put, for the money we paid and that the hotel are asking, it is absolutely poor value for money. We received better, much more personal service from hotels under half the price across our trip, therefore I can only advocate others staying here for the room.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the townhouses at Los Altos, and it was an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by incredible wildlife and supported by an amazing staff, this is one of the rare resorts that even someone like me, who usually loves to get off property, has a hard time leaving. Just a heads-up, life moves at a slower pace here. If you're expecting immediate responses, that wasn’t my experience anywhere in Costa Rica but service was quicker at Los Altos.
If you're patient and spend time in the community areas, you'll spot just about every animal you'd hope to see in Costa Rica. The grounds are expansive, including a private (and beautifully rugged) beach that's accessible by 4x4 or a long scenic walk. There’s a stunning infinity pool with a killer view, two hot tubs, food and drink service, shaded loungers, and panoramic ocean vistas. The entertainment area is also well-equipped with a pool table, air hockey, foosball, and ping pong.
But beyond the scenery and amenities, what truly sets Los Altos apart is the service. The staff goes above and beyond. This is genuine, thoughtful hospitality. Big thanks to butlers Sebastián and Andrey as well as Jean Carlos Fallas for going above and beyond during our stay, their extra effort truly made a difference. These guys don’t ask, “How can I help?” they say, “Let me figure it out.”
We encountered two significant challenges during our stay, and both were handled exceptionally well. During a major downpour that knocked out power for about 90 minutes (note: like most Costa Rican resorts, there’s no generator), the staff regularly checked on us, crossing through sheets of rain like nothing we’ve ever seen, to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. On another occasion, one of our group members experienced severe heat exhaustion on one of the provided nature walks. Within minutes, a golf cart arrived, followed by a brand-new Los Altos vehicle that transported them to urgent care. A local doctor even stayed late to assist after getting the call. Thanks to their quick response, our friend was back on their feet the next day.
Costa Rican heat and humidity can be intense, prepare for that. But you’ll never have to worry about the level of care and service you’ll receive at Los Altos. This team is committed to delivering the best experience possible, and they truly mean it.
